  1. I got a Samsung 30 inch Widescreen HDTV with built in tuner for $800. I lived off the HD tuner for about 4 months before getting a Samsung HD Directv HD Reciever for $200. Other things: Wal Mart has really nice Sanyo HD 30 Inch Widescreen Sets for less than $600 with the built in tuner. That will probably be about the same price as your high end analog tv. At the time I got my TV, the Sanyo was $747 and I figured Id spend the extra $60 and get the Samsung. But if I was buying now, Id get the Sanyo, which I've seen in action at Wal Mart and is really just as good as my Samsung. I think it has DVI so I dont think it has HDMI. Don't get one of the Advent HD sets that sell for $499. They are crap. HD signals can be carried over the component cables (Red/Blue/Green cables) which is what I use right now to run both my DVD/Hard Drive recorder and Sat Reciever to my TV. As far as the price of the high end cables like DVI cables, if you know what you need, you can get cables from places like Amazon for less than $20. It wont be a MONSTER cable, but from everything I've read, its not worth paying upwards of $100 for a Monster DVI cable at a place like Best Buy when you can get just about the same performance from a cheaper cable online. I would definitely consider the fact that CRT HD sets are farking heavy as lead (mine weighs in over 150 lbs) and hard to move around once you get it set. My stand has little sliders on it to help move the whole set up when I need to get to the back, but its a pain. If you buy an HD Set with a built in tuner, invest in a cheap pair of rabit ear anntenas if you dont have some laying around somewhere.
  2. Why the hell would a guy with no hair get a women's razor? EDIT I was just thinking, just about 5 years ago, right before I turned 18, Gillete sent me a free Mach 3 Razor. About a month later, all my hair started falling out.
  3. If I had the ability to go back in time, I would tattle on him for skipping school the whole day so that he wouldnt show up. And if he did show up, I think Id punch him in the face. Of course the rule of time travel and all would state there would be an equally annoying result to the same play anyway, but at least I dont think it could be such an annoying little bitch of a kid doing it.
  4. I was a bit late on the draw of answering a Delmarva Shorebirds radio/email trivia contest as well. The question was "Who is the only Delmarva Shorebird to win a World Series?" The Shorebirds first year, 1996 (this is their Tenth Anniversary Season) they were affiliated with the Expos and I got to see players such as Micheal Barrett and Javier Vasquez play. Anyway, the answer was Orlando Cabrera who won it with the Red Sox last year. but I was in my car away from my computer listening to the game when it came up, otherwise I would have won for sure.
  5. The problem with Democracy is Democrats /has nothing else
  6. I saw this on HD Net last weekend as a part of its dual premiere (since its the first movie from HDNet Studios or whatever). I was pretty shocked at a lot of the stuff.
  7. Im having the same problems as well. I cleared my cookies and it didnt do anything. In fact, it made it worse because now after I submit a post, I go to a blank screen instead of back to the thread. Its rather annoying. Fix it, please.
  8. All I wanna know is where the inspiration to mock the A-Team for his video came from. Seriously.
  9. Hmm. I used to do that "My food cant touch on the plate or it will explode" thing until a few years ago. I still have a thing somtimes about having an odd number of things on my plate (not counting everyting on my plate, but say a piece of meat, vegetable and starch for 3, etc..)
  10. With the O's getting 2 days off, Im hoping that it doesn't cool them off too much, and its ashame that they couldnt go for the 3 game sweep of Boston. On the plus side, they play TB at home this weekend, but thats not even really a good thing as they always seem to play bad vs TB. The O's are off to their best start since 1997, which was also the last year they had a winning record and the last year a team not named the Yankees won the AL East..
  11. I got Mike Hampton in the 13th Round. Considering how some of my other wonderful draftees have done, I consider him a steal. 2-0 1.17 ERA 1.04 WHIP, Hes also gone 8 innings his last 3 starts. He'd be higher ranked if he had more than just 9 ks in 30 IP. He'd also be higher ranked if the Braves would score more runs for him as they scored a grand total of 3 runs in his 2 no decisions (2-1 win, 2-1 loss) vs 17 runs in his 2 wins (6-2 and 11-2 wins). And yes, I know his career ERA is close to 4 and WHIP over 1.40, but we might as well compare Brian Roberts career numbers, and Im willing to bet, as big an O's fan that I am, that Hampton will keep up his numbers longer than Roberts will (now watch him go give up 12 runs vs the Mets today..) Its also really just a fluke that I have 4 of the top 50 batters right now cause I just added Carl Everett, but because I added him I doubt he'll stay hot. Im just extremely desperate to find hitting somewhere other than a trade that would cause me to lose my pitching.
  12. Directv has ESPNU...if you pay $12 (or less per month!) for the totally useless Sports Pack. By useless, I mean its useless cause you get all the Regional Sports Nets but all the actual games for the major sports are blacked out due to stand alone, all the games (not really either) sports packages for MLB, NBA and I guess NHL.
  13. Javy Lopez hits a 2 run HR to make it 11-8 O's
  14. Tejada Golfs one over the monster to give the Os the lead 9-8 in the 8th
  15. December ain't exactly summer... Man..I thought it came out in August.
  16. Im guessing we'll hear the same thing in box office reports.. "OH NO..the box office is down XX % from last year.." Theres not a decent movie (in my opinion) worth paying $10 to see on that list. Sin City would be the closest, but I decided to wait for the DVD. And neither new movie for next week has me running to the theatre next weekend either.
  17. Its feast or famine.. anyway.. This was one of those weeks I'd like to forget, although at the end of the week, the Os are still in first place. Getting a 3 game sweep in Toronto is good, since, as it was pointed out on the Toronto broadcast (heard via XM), the Jays have had the best record vs the Orioles over the last 3 years of any of the teams in the AL East. Ponson pitched well, although I will invest no confidence in his ability to make 2 straight starts like that.
  18. If Im gonna do anything in this league, it looks like its going to be primarily because of my pitching staff. I've finally wised up and taken Cabrera off my starters to the bench. My top 3 SP are probably the best of any team and Im trying to make moves to find a combo for the last 2 SP that works. My offense has been sputtering along but nothing like I was hoping.
  19. As an Orioles fan I was kinda disapointed they didnt get Pavano..but I will say that I would rather have Pavano than Ponson. Right now the Os rotation gets strong starts regularly from 3 of the 5 pitchers, Ponson and Cabrera being the two weak links. Ive been very impressed by Bedards improvement over last year, Chen has been a surprise, and Lopez is proving he should have been the #1 starter last year instead of starting off in the bullpen.
  20. First vote for KING KONG!
  21. I have yet to type or say those three letters since the name changed. I adopted the whole idea of calling it the WWE and it stuck. It confuses people even more when I say it that way.
  22. Im surprised the Ravens got Dan Cody...he was suposed to be a 1rst rounder and he fell all the way to #53.. Overall, Clayton, Cody and Terry, I have to give the Ravens a B on the draft.
  23. That really makes me very happy..and he's Holts favorite reciever..
  24. Ravens get Mark Clayton (and if they don't..argh..)
