Am I the only one who likes Blue Pepsi? While I didn't really hate it, blue is almost an unnatural color in foods. And the first thing that I thought of when I first saw it was "Do they really expect people to drink something that looks like a bottle of windex?"

The only way some team gets screwed is if the tiebreaker goes all the way to a coin toss (after all the other tiebreaking options are exausted), which wont happen. But if a team lost the coin toss and didn't make the playoffs because of it, I would count that as being screwed...by chance. As MUCH as I want to say the Ravens are going to get the last playoff spot...they HAVE to beat either Indy or Pittsburgh and win the other 2 games (Giants/Dolphins). Anything less than 10-6 wont get them in and even then it might be a tossup with Denver.

The Orioles need a #1 Starter and a RF or 1B right now. They have enough payroll after finally getting out from under some bad contracts (Segui, Cordova, Daal, Groom) that they can easily sign 2 players. Whether thats Hudson/Ordonez or Delgado/Pavano, but they need to sign at least 2. In a worst case scenario where they could only sign 1 player, I would prefer it to be a pitcher, but I would want them to get Hudson and sign him to a long term deal. The offense is ok, and if Gibbons is healthy the whole year that would be an improvement right there over last season. Because if they don't sign a pitcher, they wont be going anywhere with a rotation of: Ponson - R. Lopez - Cabrera- Bedard - Riley/Ainsworth - Keeping in mind that Ponson absolutely stunk for 1/2 of the year last year before rebounding to at least have a good finish. Lopez is in no way a #2 starter (probably not even a #3), Cabrera will probably have a Sophmore slump just like every other Os pitcher who's had a decent first year (Josh Towers, Rodrigo Lopez..). Bedard could only seemingly go 5 innings last year before getting yanked for throwing over 100 pitches. I was really high on Ainsworth last year but Im worried his injuries are a bigger problem and I like Matt Riley but he's still a couple years away. Signing a #1 pitcher would probably bump Bedard to a long relief role and would ibe a vast improvement even though it seems they probably need to sign 5 new Pitchers. I still don't know why the A's wouldn't take Gibbons and Hairston if they were interested in Giles and have lost Dye. Im fine with giving up Bedard..he COULD be a good pitcher but Im not seeing it in a guy who could barely last 5 innings just because of his high pitch count. BJ Ryan is an integral part of the bullpen, but if you can get Tim Hudson for him and Bedard, you have to do it (As long as they can then sign Hudson to a long term deal..) Oh, and from the looks of things, Pavano canceled his meeting with the Angels and supposedly his agent was meeting with the Os last night. It could be possible to sign Pavano and trade for Hudson and still sign Delgado or Ordonez, but I doubt it.

Being the Soda connoisseur that I am...I can safely say that this was probably a worse idea than the Blue Pepsi. I can't even exactly tell what "Spice" they tried to use although if I had to take a shot its probably cinnamon/allspice/ginger, but only from the smell, not taste. I really don't taste anything, which probably means its all imitation flavorings..Its not as sweet as a regular pepsi, but I find that to not be a good thing (try this with a Coke and it might be better). I get $1 taken out of my paycheck so I can wear casual clothes on casual friday even though Im not allowed to wear casual clothes in the kitchen when Im working (The rest of the hospital staff can wear casual clothes on friday). I tried arguing the point but was told "Its for charity" and "its only a dollar" (Well actually its $26 a year), but I think I should be allowed to opt out since I see no benefit from it. I think they require it because the hospital gets a lot of awards and crap from the charities that get the money (and probably some sort of tax break too).

Im trying to figure out why the Os are interested in Glaus after the season Mora had at 3rd. But it doesn't matter since it looks like he's signed with Arizona.. If the Braves are offering Giles for Hudson, I could see the Orioles offering Hairston for Hudson but they'd probably want someone else. Since they lost Dye, and the Os seem less than optimistic with Gibbons, I guess they could deal Gibbons and Hairston for Hudson. But then that means that the Os would have a hole in RF and 1B (The Os right now are counting on Gibbons to play 1B or RF, whichever position they don't acquire someone to play via FA). I would say if they did trade Gibbons that they should definitely get Delgado since a 1B is harder to plug in than a RF (They could play NEWHAN in RF!) It sounds like things are going well on the Delgado front but Id rather have Magglio Ordonez despite his health concerns. If the Orioles get Pavano/Hudson and Delgado/Ordonez then, *GASP* the Orioles could probably contend for a wild card. Im just salivating over a lineup with Mora Tejada Delgado/Ordonez Lopez in the 2-5 slot. Oh and look at this: Uh. No.
