  1. Hell most probably cheat to win. Being a pickpocket on RAW would be so dumb though. What is his finisher btw? Havent they already recycled that one with Mark Jindrak as the Reflection of Perfection.
  2. I think Edge did a good job last night on RAW. He really seem pissed off in his promo with Todd. I like the way he didnt refer to Matt by name. I think he should have stopped at the first pause though cause then he laid it on a bit too thick IMO. The way introduced Lita (and her facial mannerisms), that promo and the way he went over Kane made me want to see Edge get more of a push. He was a heel that people hated last night IMHO. And he plugged us smarks too. Hey, bad publicity is better than though no publicity, right Vince?
  3. As long as HBK is nothing more than a 2 month transitional champ at most, then im fine with that. The last HBK-RVD was weak cause they were both faces. RVD would be second best to Jericho (as a face) as a champ. But does he really need the title to sell merchandies? But does he really draw? Do the figures support your statement? A heel has to lead a match. Is Cena capable of that? Cena hanged in there because he was being carried, something that he is incapable of doing.
  4. Thats not such a bad time. I take it that TNA will debut this October. Im glad that TNA actually signed with Spike, cause when I read the 1st post in this thread I thought, such a title for this crap. That rewind shit was weird though. Could a kid have done that? It is the voice they normally use for promos though.
  5. FIRSTLY, I AM NOT A JJ MARK BUT HE HASNT GOT HIS TITLE REMATCH YET. TNA is back to being the Jeff Jarrett Show. Again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To act like a baby like other people here, Id just like to say that I called it first in the No Surrender thread before I read this thread. Brown will be Ravens partner IMHO. I take it that you mean 3 out of 10 PPVs. There was the one with Savage right and Lockdown, ahh and this. I agree. But Aybss is losing steam and AJ wants to be in the X Division. Come on, Raven and Rhino deserve to be in the ME, arguing that they shouldnt cause they are WWE Rejects is just lame, especially since you go on to say that JJ should also be in the ME. Both Raven and Rhino have much love from the IWC. I say bring back the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship. I will pass judgement on JJ after he the outcome of his rematch for the title (with Raven). JJ still has 1 final act to do in the ME and that is lose to Raven. Then shift him down to the mid-card. Thats the best you can expect, since JJ owns part of the company and all. Come on Magus and calm down buddy, its not that bad, this can play out to Brown turning, Raven-Rhino and Brown-JJ at Unbreakabke and Raven-JJ and Brown-Rhino at Bound for Glory. Yes, it would be and signal the end of JJ. I didnt get what you were saying about the last 2 PPVs that involved the champion in a tag match. Wasnt the Savage 6 Man the last match on that card. The Lockdown 6 man was followed by Abyss-AJ right. The finals of the Super X Cup will and should close the show. I'm guessing that idea is going to be presented to the booking crew by Jarrett and co. Of course, when it comes time for Jarrett to do the clean-as-a-sheet job, things will change. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I like the idea of JJ throwing everything and the kitchen sink at Raven, hopefully wearing him down. JJ hasnt got his rematch for the NWA World Title. Until he does, he will never leave the ME. Have them playing the fact that Raven has never beaten JJ and that everybody knows that JJ always has the last laugh and then bam, Raven standing over JJ still your NWA Heavyweight Champion of the World. Once again, HHH didnt put Batista over he jobbed to him. We should have like an induction course for posters to explain the fundamentals such as the Delaying it by 1 month is wasting it? If anything, it give it more time to evolve and more heat. Rhino hasnt explained yet why he has aligned himself with JJ. Is he using for example? Raven-Rhino will be a brawl, havent we just had a brawl for the NWA World Title? Could it be that Rhino is a bit rusty, hence the breaking him in slowly with the tag match? FINALLY, I SAY JUST GIVE TNA A BIT OF TIME, THEY HAVE BEEN ON THE RIGHT TRACK SO FAR.
  6. On an unrelated point not directed to the quoted poster above, why is everybody obsessed with Invasion angles lately. I agree Rhino should have been facing Jarrett. Hell, Brown should be facing Jarrett. I think Brown needs to turn on Jarrett ASAP, like o Im not good enough for you anymore. That means we can have Raven-Rhino and Brown-Jarrett at Sacrifice. I had a feeling though that Rhino would be debuting as a heel, and aligning him with JJ was the only way they saw that they could have done that. Rhino should have just gored JJ too, after goring Raven. But that would have made Rhino a face and facing JJ at the next PPV, and not Raven. Wait, whats wrong with that? Id still love to see Raven-Jarrett at Bound for Glory. Rhino is a roadblock. Its just the same as the Destiny Chase angle but Ill buy it. JJ saying that hes no longer the champion but Ravens never beaten him. Have Raven beat Jarrett with interference from Rhino and Brown. If booked properly, Raven would look really strong. Technically speaking though, JJ hasnt got his rematch yet. He deserves one, especially after a 11 month reign. Nobody can deny that. I still think that that rematch should come at Bound for Glory. Book Raven/Brown-JJ/Rhino at Sacrifice, then Raven-Rhino and Brown-JJ at Unbreakable. Have the battle of the Pounce and the Gore at Bound for Glory. Put Daniels-Joe on that card, and Bound for Glory is looking one hell of a card. Somehow fir Styles-Lynn and AMW-Naturals (former as heels) and that would be fantastic.
  7. Well I think by predicting he'd go against Raven one would assume Rhino would be a heel. And my grammar is better than yours so <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I predicted that he would be a heel before you pimped Raven-Rhino.
  8. He was stiff. Just not as stiff as other wrestlers and people think. Bret had said that Goldberg makes Vader look like Michaels.
  9. Am I the only one here who things that Daniels is doing a good enough job as X Division Champion and shouldnt drop the belt to Joe within the next 2 months. Daniels should at least be X Div Champ till Bound for Glory IMHO.
  10. Ive just been thinking about this, who is the most hated heel and most loved face in history, regardless of for which promotion they wrestled? I would have to say as a heel, they dont come much badder than Big Van Vader. He used to put people in hospital just for fun. His victims include Sting, Mick Folely and Ron Simmons (who was badass in WCW during 1992/3). His moveset was wicked, including a Vader Splash, Moonsault and the very awesome Vader Bomb. Remember, he weighed between 400-450 pounds at the time. He broke jobbers backs for fun. He has had problems with the police in different countries. Hes a multi-time world champion on different continents. Harley Race, one of the dirtest wrestlers in the business was his manager. IMHO, he was the most dominant heel champion in WCW history. If you want to talk about the WWE dropping the ball, look no further than Vader. For a face, I think the eternal face is Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat. I mean, did this guy ever play a heel? Did he ever do something remotely heelish. Hell, even nowdays, hes still portrayed as a face, such as in RoH. Very proficient technically, fans loved him, since he did no wrong. I think this love from the fans was supported cause he could mat wrestle, proven in classics such as his series of matches with Ric Flair (whom the fans used to love to hate around that time) and his WMIII match with 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. Its a shame that there were so many top faces at the time, since he had no chance at being WWE Champion what with Hogan, and a long-term NWA or WCW Champion given the dominance of people like Flair and Sting. Misused in many promotions IMHO.
  11. Really bad. It was like ooops, I just fucked up big time. Im surprised he didnt say now tell me I didnt just say that.
  12. Who is before Edge as a heel? I mean HBK yes. I wouldnt say that Jericho is above him, if anything on par with him at most. Angles a tweener IMHO at the moment and HHH is off TV. HBK is the top heel right now. I normally wouldn't consider Jericho above him but he is in a title feud right now. Angle is a heel against everyone except Triple H. Hunter is gone, true, but he could come back and win the title anytime, and that would still be a better choice as champion than Edge. What has Edge done in the past 2 years to deserve a title reign? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Im not saying Edge deserves it, im just saying that Jericho looks weak at the moment, just like Edge. Angle is a lower programme than Edge (Kurt Angle Invitational) and HHH is off TV. If anything that makes Edge #3 at least IMHO.
  13. WWE will use the Tag Match to prolong the fued knowing them. I dont think he should be a contracted wrestler either. He should attack Edge once in a while and in different ways, such as in the parking lot, hide in the dressing room, etc... make Edge downplay it but complain to Bischoff all the time saying that there is a crazy fan on the loose who is after him. Edge will always be looking over his shoulder. Bischoff responds to the attacks by giving Edge a security detail. It has to be entirely random, guerilla style. Have 2 weeks of attacks and then a month of nothing. Spook Edge out. This means that they cant blow it off at SummerSlam, but later, say Survivour Series. Hell, give Edge a handicap with Snitsky versus Kane at Unforgiven. I dont care. The main question is for how long can Matt be seen as a credible threat. The problem with women in the fueds is that they tend to take heat off wrestlers since marks are after TnA.
  14. Sorry, my point was in the comment. Ive ammended it now. Thanks for pointing that out. I meant to say: Isnt the UT an institution and Vince's loyalist minion?
  15. Maybe cause those where his best days. Ive always associated the hair and the trenchcoat with Edge. Its his getup. Hasnt Edge trimmed his hair recently? Maybe because Cena overdoes it and does very little else? Do they really cheer along with JBL like that? Cena deserves over Edge at this point in time. I think they were onto something Edge from around Survivour Series up to around the Goldrush Tourney. And how can you with HHH on your show?
  16. Damn, now Ive got to watch Heat too this week. Its a shoot, a shoot I tell you. 'Creative' have been fooling us the entire time. I like that, but how about him conning heels? Wouldnt that make him a face. Its will be another shoot, another shoot I tell you. 'Creative' have been fooling us the entire time again. In all seriousness, its a good idea. LotR were great, even better than the films I thought people here wantd Conway getting a singles push, or did people just want him away from La Res?
  17. Can I have a 3rd choice please? If I really have to choose on the spot, out of the two, my heart says Edge but my mind says Cena. Cena is in a way better position than Edge currently is and Edge is not really anywhere near the title or credible enough as at this point in time. Im very reluctantly voting for Cena given as how things stand at the moment if I really have to choose. As always, Canadian Chick gets to the heart of the matter and sums up the situation best. It all depends on how Edge comes out of his feud with Matt. To get back in the ball game, Edge needs to give Matt the beating of a lifetime (after all the shots Matt will get in on Edge during the buildup) and put him on the shelf for a while (which wouldnt happen, but for Edge to go for the title, he has to beat Matt, but if that happens and Matt is still around, he will just go after Edge time after time). A way around it could be Edge putting his MitB shot up against Matt leaving the WWE for good and going over (but that would mean that he face doesnt ultimately win the blowoff and an Edge-Matt you stole my gf, now I steal your title is out of the window too). Matt has just come back from a long lay-off hasnt he? Edge is better playing the lone wolf and has to show the world that he will go to any means necessary to win the WWE Championship. If he beats the shit out of Matt and shows him the door, then yes the marks will really hate him. Does Cena need the title to sell T-Shirts and CDs? I dont think so, so why is it on him? It could be of much use elsewhere. Who is before Edge as a heel? I mean HBK yes. I wouldnt say that Jericho is above him, if anything on par with him at most. Angles a tweener IMHO at the moment and HHH is off TV. Yes, hes right people. I have a feeling too that Brock will show up on RAW, and come to think about it, when you look at the ME scenes of both shows post-Draft, RAW needs MEs more than SD does. Batista-Lesnar, Benoit-Lesnar, Lesnar-Eddie and Lesnar-JBL are way better matches though. Was he playing a true face when he was heading DGX? Lesnar is a better talker and worker than Batista. Batista is way cooler and more charimatic, especially when he says very little. Edge deserves a shot. Im not sure if this is the right time though. Do the figures support this rumour that Cena draws though? My arguement still remains, does Cena really need the title for a prolonged period of time to be as popular as he is. To be a good heel you have to carry a match, something which Cena has never done. I cant see Edge as a credible champion at this point in time. People will realise that it just Matt-Edge but it has immense heat at the moment. I can understand why the WWE wouldnt want to drag it out though. Austin was a tweener at best. Vince was the heel.
  18. That said, and I hate to even say this, I do think he'll win a major title one day, more than likely within a year. I just don't see it happening right now, or anytime soon. I still don't see the guy as a major champion, but I respect the fact that many people do. I just can't help but wonder just what in the world WWE is waiting for with this guy. One second it looks like they want to push him to the moon, then the next they take away all they have given him, for whatever reason. I'm more than excited about an Edge/Hardy feud, a lot more than more than Edge/Kane/Lita and Edge/Cena feuds, so as of right now, I'm pleased. Besides, I'm always up for seeing Edge get his ass kicked, especially by Hardy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It started out from a Kane-Edge match, remember the Goldrush Tourney? But your right, the main players have been Kane and Lita with Edge as her lacky. Please, stop mentioning the time around WMX18 god dammit, Im trying to block it out mentally. Shudders at the thought of Kane-Snitsky again. I agree that the fued will end up with Hardy-Edge, but I still feel that Kane and Snitsky will be sucked into by siding with Hardy and Edge respectively. I dont think well see Snitsky-Kane at SummerSlam, since weve already got Hogan-HBK, Cena-Jericho and most probably, but unfortunately, Hardy-Edge; and then on SD, weve got Batista/JBL-UT/Hassan. I like your idea of it being an unsanctioned match for the MitB shot. Matt should play the avenging angel, spooking out Edge who finally wants a match with Matt. Matt can they say why would I want a match with you when Im having fun beating the crap out of you this way, unless we raise the odds that is... Edge has no where to go. They dropped the ball with him IMHO. He should have been facing HBK at WM, but they saved that with him winning the MitB match. But was he done with that apart from having him get a shiney new briefcase? They should have a had a legal wrangle over it since the WHC is no longer on SD. He should exercise it when the champion is on his back, like when Batista was a bloody mess after HitC, you see Edge running down with the briefcase saying I want it now, I want it now, ring the bell ring the bell. That would have made Batista look shit though. Zyn stops, Zyn thinks . . . wait a minute, do that to Cena goddamit, do that Cena, have Edge make Cena look like shit by exercising the MitB when Cena is bloodied and exhausted. Ill start making more placards, LET EDGE MAKE CENA LOOKS LIKE SHIT. If we shout long enough, Vince will listen. He listened to us to bring Matt back. Ok, comic relief over and back to reality with a thud. I can see him to start feuding with Angle again, after Edge loses his shot. Have Angle clapping in the backstage saying well done Edge, you dropped it again. He needs a lot of work to be seen as a major contender IMHO. The bottom dropped out him after the Goldrush Tourney IMHO. The Matt/Edge thingy wont last long unfortunately. It should be a drawn out suffering guerilla style but that will just make Edge look weaker. BTW, who isnt?
  19. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2005_/arti.../1121237998.php <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yet Undertaker's isn't? Lame excuse. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Eh, Undertaker is a different story since he's been around for so long. If you REALLY want to take that quote and get a WTF look on your face, then all you need to do is just think about how in the blue hell The Boogyman is being bumped up to the main roster. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Isnt the UT an institution and Vince's loyalist minion?
  20. Or aligns himself with Matt, since he has beef with Edge and Lita himself? Stop dreaming silly. You know what else was a work? The Vietnam War. It was just an angle to keep Russia out of the main event. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL. Hillarious. This is the only plausible explanation, given the circumstances. So, all you cynical wrestling fans take note: sometimes Vince listens. (If they don't fuck it up.) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> /me starts writing up the placards stating: "Bret for WWE Chairman". Come on guys, help me out here. Spread the word, if we shout loud enough Vince will listen. Ill start the chant: BRET FOR WWE CHAIRMAN. WE WANT BRET. BRET FOR WWE CHAIRMAN. WE WANT BRET. ('Creative' always fucks it up)
  21. Yes, but I can still see HHH squashing CMP and making him his bitch.
  22. It was made better on Velocity cause finally, for once, a play-by-play commentator put a very good effort into the match. I mean it, Matthews was the man. He mentioned Pillman show, corrected Romero and was up to scracth on all the moves, whilst not sounding over-enthusatic. Everybody would. It doesnt have to be made-up to be a face/heel deal, but a honour and title deal. Last time I checked though, Benoit was a face and Regal was a heel, but I dont think that this has to or should play an important part in their fued. And its not just you who wants the US and IC titles used in such a way. That would be hot, Benoit-Rey, but Benoit will hopefully fued with Regal, JBL and UT for the forseeable future and Rey with Eddie and then Christain as people here are inclining to believe. I think well say Rey-Juvi before Rey-Benoit. Dammit, I want Benoit-Eddie in their current personas for the WHC at WMXX2. Just not right now, right? I prefer him as commentator than as the dumb backstage interviewer. Hell, shouldnt the latter be Coles job. They still have moves in their moveset. Benoit can bust out the apron DDT, Wildbomb (I marked out big time when he used against Eddie for the USC at Vengence) and the Brainbuster, plus a very Delayed Vertical Suplex. Theres the Snap Suplex, Rolling Germans and Flying Swan-Dive Headbutt, and dont forget the Shoulderblock Charge, Enzeguri and Suicide Dive. Im not that up to strach with Regal's moveset throughtout his career. Its funny, but all I remember about the Shelton/HBK was the finish and HBK putting Shelton over. Great were that went though.
  23. I don't think anyone here is saying Cena is the best choice, as I'm sure many here would like to see Jericho or Angle holding the belt. But the fact is having someone who is incredibly over holding the title is generally good business. It creates interest in the title, title feuds, and draws in the casual fan. I found this part of your post particularly interesting... There was a guy in the 80's like that... Hulk Hogan, I think. Good thing they never let that guy hold a title You need to realize that the majority of the PAYING fanbase does like John Cena, and that in business terms, WWE is doing the right thing by keeping the belt on him. If the fans buy his merchandise or watch shows that he's on, Vince would be an idiot to NOT keep him in the spotlight. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> First of all, Id just like to apologize for all the Cena hate. Its just that I can stand the fact that they are making Jericho look like a bitch at the moment just to inflate Cena. IMHO, Jericho has no reason to stay in the WWE from a wrestling standpoint. They dont see him as a credible champion as a face (and he is somebody who talk and work) or as a badass heel (always portraying him as a whiney bitch instead). I personally dont think that Cena needs the title to get even more over than he already is (and I hate to admit it, but he is hugely over at the moment, although I personally dont get it or feel it) or draw interest to him. I understand your point, that people will say oooh WWE Championship, but I think that it could a lot more to somebody else then the little more that it is adding to Cena IMHO. Its sad that the WWE Championship match is ranked 3rd at this point in time for RAW's side of the SummerSlam card (after Hogan-Michaels and Matt-Edge). The WWE Championship should always be the top fued IMHO. I prefer Hogan's work then than I do Cena's now. Hogan drew punters into his matches, put bums in seats and made heels look credible (Andre the Giant, Randy Savage, Rowdy Roddy Piper anybody?). I dont think the 3 mentioned and others would have been as big as they are or remebered as so if it werent for Hogan. Think about Andre the Giant, what comes to mind, Hogan bodyslamming him at WMIII, think about Savage, what comes to mind, the MegaPowers (oh, yes and a classic with Steamboat ), think about Piper, what comes to mind, all the Hogan hate. Brutus Beefcake would have been nothing without Hogan for example. I think its hard to compare Cena to Hogan, and is very unfair on Cena to do so, cause when talking about Hogan one does retrospectively about a legacy and Cena has only had a few short years in the business. But when the dust settles down the winding road I think Cena will only be a footnote in the echelons of wrestling history. The figures really dont show Cena drawing, ableit his overness. But why does the belt have to be his gimmick? Isnt that a bit sad to use the belt as so, secondary to a wrestlers. Hell no, you misunderstood me, what I was saying was that they shouldnt give the title to either of them on the basis of being over. I must admit, Cena did a good grade a class job of tagging with Hogan, he looked geniunely shocked and humbled by being in the ring with him. It was a really nice touch that he left the ring out of respect and encouraged Hogan to keep on posing. If Cena does that more often then I wont mind watching him. He has to learn though IMHO that he doesnt have to simply make fun of other wrestlers, by gay, nuts, cheap, etc... references but improving on the so many little things that he can do so much better, such as working in the ring, carrying somebody, improving his moveset and the subtle touches such as his before and after his match with Hogan. You could be right with Matt cabbage boy. What better way to spite Edge then taking his first WWE Championship from him.
  24. Again, why should TNA put outside talent over its own? I agree with Placebo. Whats the point of fucking over one of your own, just to get an extremely short-term pop. And then after that, what have you got? Your left with a person on your roster who looks weak. I like the line-up. AJ, Joe and Petey have been getting decent pushes (and yes, they made Petey look strong versus Daniels). Sabin and Michael Shane are there or thereabouts when it comes to the X Division. Sonjay Dutt is good for a spot fest, and both Shocker and Shelly can go. Im a bit surprised that Lynn didnt lean either way at No Surrender, and that either him or Sean are not in this tourney.
  25. As I have said in the past, Rhino gets more heat when hes a heel than pops as a face. Raven is NWA World Heavyweight Champion and his face, that means inter alia, heels face him. Rhino coming in as a face would have put him down in the pecking order. The winner of the X Cup gets an X title shot at next month's Sacrifice. It's pretty obvious they're building up Joe for Daniels. I doubt they give away Joe/Styles on iMPACT! when hardly anyone's watching. I say Joe wins the thing, beats Daniels at Sacrifice and they build up Styles for him at this Bound For Glory show they're already hyping for October. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The TNA site says the finals of the X Cup will take place at the next ppv. The winner would get a title shot the month after that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree that Joe-Styles and Joe-Daniels should be on PPVs, especially since TNA havent got TV yet. Makes sense for such an important match as the Super X Final to be on a PPV. But isnt the order of PPVs Sacrifice, Unbreakable and then Bound for Glory. I totally disagree with Joe going over Daniels though. Run Joe-Styles at Sacrifice, then Daniels-Joe at Unbreakable with Daniels winning. Then have a rematch at Bound For Glory. How far is your head stuck up your ass? Does your brain get oxygen there? Its not a case of sour grapes, its a case of TNA doing the right thing for once. TNA wanted him when he was a free agent. Who wouldnt dumbass. But as people have said earlier in this thread (if you actually bothered to read it), if its just a 1 shot appearance, with Vince getting more out of it than TNA, then they did the right telling him to stick it. It would have hurt TNA if they promoted a WWE star on their show and just got ONE appearance by Matt, which would have gained them nothing. Some people bought the PPV on the basis that there was a slim outside chance of Matt being there. Him not being there has detracted from buys for No Surrender, and wont hurt the overall product in the longer term, given how the situation turned out. What was the point of Matt if he couldnt put anybody over? It would have hurt TNA's star. Why did Matt deserve the spotlight to promote RAW on TNA? That would have weakened TNA cause people would have been upset with the level they had to stoop to. Bravo TNA for licking Vince's ass. Bravo for making the difficult but ultimately right decision. And Id called it that Rhino should be coming in as a heel first, in that very same thread.
