Mind sharing with us when Steven Richards got fired? Since, you know, he wasn't. For the record, I didn't say that. And also for the record...Daniels vs. Hardy should be a very good match. I think it would have been better to put Hardy against someone he actually knows for his first match, like Gibson/Noble or Spanky. But Daniels vs. Hardy is some match on paper. Yes you did buddy: EDIT: Sorry, Shooting Star did, my apoligies.

As far as I know, Punk has burnt his bridges with TNA and passed the point of no return. But isnt loyal to ROH and heading their school (how he can do this I have no idea, its not like his name is known outside the communitry)? Danielson is pretty much a free agent so I can see him going to SD as a CW. I havent heard much about Joe recently and dont think that ROH are pushing him as much as they used to. Hes more a WWE guy than Punk and Danielson, but he would just be stereotyped and Vince will jack off by watching him jobbing every week. Hed get a kick out of flushing ROHs greatest champ down the toilet. The Bashams rule on the Mike, so does Matt Morgan. Regarding RVD, if he werent to get a mega-push straight after coming back, I think he will reconsider his future at WWE and move to TNA which would be great for them and then you could see RVD-AJ, RVD-Daniels, RVD-Raven, RVD-Killings, RVD-Monty, RVD-Aybss, . . . That would be the best name TNAs picked up to date.

Source: http://www.tnawrestling.com Guess thats it then. They are starting on WGN the Monday after Slam. This could effect Slam negatively, due to no TV. Could push the company though to put on a kick ass event, despite the setbacks, as a good basis for WGN. Its the ideal time to switch IMHO. 1st line should be 'We welcome you to a new year for TNA and the season premiere, on the new home of iMPACT, WGN'. This after the opening promo of the best bits of the last 3 years. TNA really need to do recaps though on their website, play iMPACT instead of Xplosion and start pimping the new deal. Although, that post of their website takes you no where, so maybe they are typing up them up.

Source: http://tnawrestling.com/news/2005/5/27/news.html The Positives: Looks like they are teasring AMWs heel turn and 3LK splitting up. Thank god. AMW are so stale right now. Killings has been in there way too long and we need the NAO back. BG will most probably be put in a bad light given his actions of the past week, but BG as a heel + Billy as a heel = NAO as faces. Plus the seeds have been planted for NAO vs AMW. Knowing TNA though they will split up Harris and Storm and have them feud with each other instead. I guess the Outlaw for Killings makes sense, as this would further solidfy NAO, since BG can turn on Konnan and then help Outlaw beat Killings. Have Konnan and Killings as NAOs 1st oppenents at Sacrifice. Then cut Konnan lose. Guess you were right Magus about Roode and I guess Hoyt is getting over with the fans. Cant really complain about this, since its been booked since the gauntlet and is a way of getting them both on the card. As long as its short. Also, Team Canada gets a title shot, so they seen as being high up in TNAs plans. The Negative: Not what were expecting for the X Div, but I guess its expected and I agree with them favouring their on the books talent for their largest PPV of you. If Shanes not involved too much, Daniels should be able to get a good match out of a Stale Sabin. This would be good if they book it as Daniels overcoming the odds. Re KoTM. There are a few holes still. Why isnt Abyss sole Number 1 Contender? More importantly, how is Montys involvement justified? Thirdly, who is the 5th wheel? I can understand the 1st 2 if they said like JJ has a rematch for a triple threat and believe that they could strech it to Monty deserves a chance, but how can you justify the 5th player? I have a bad feeling its going to be Raven which sucks for 3 reasons (1) he has no right to be there at this moment in time, (2) he will most probably will be portrayed very weakly, which is a given due to his current status and (3) even he were to shockingly win it, the shock factor will be at the expense of TNAs money story. Couldnt they have left it as a 4-way, with AJ trying to convince Abyss that, despite their past, they have to work together vs JJ and Monty. They also have the dissent between Monty and JJ. EDIT: I like the way that the Slam promo says Professional Wrestling and not Sports Entertainment. Slam is starting to remind me of the Rumble, since it starts the road to Bound For Glory. I like the 3 people who are on the poster. I think its fitting. Could we see extended posters with AMW on? They are the top 5 people in TNA. NOTE TO MODS: I posted this here becasue I refer to what I have said to Magus and what I have personally said in it. Should a new thread be opened for Slam or could you knock off the parts referring to Slam (and the build for Bound For Glory) and create a seperate thread?

Dimensions Posted on May 28 2005, 05:36 PM I dont know why but DDP has never seemed ME to me. It just didnt feel right to see him with the ME title of any company. And hasnt he left? Nash? Nash? Please, Nash is the death of any company that he works for. Hes most probably the greatest slumper of all time. And I know hes up to it, but why is it always Nash and not Hall. I always found a in form Hall more entertaining. Magus Posted on May 28 2005, 05:57 PM Yes, I agree but dont start the show with it. Yes, and no NWA World Title match. Damn straight skippy. Yes, but not those 2. Its a matter of too quick, too soon. Nods. I would say have 6 matches. 3 between 8 and 10. 2 between 10 and 12. The ME between 12 and 15. Thats a mimimum of 56 minutes and a maximum of 69 minutes of wrestling. They should aim for around an hour of bell to bell wrestling. Send a message to the fans: WE CAN GO LONGER. The 1st show should start with a kick ass promo. I dont mind if its around 3-5 mins. It will highlight the best points of TNA. The iMPACT style has to be retained, even though I think its a bit loud. It looks more sports orientated and I hate to have to admit that. They should only let people with charisma cut promos. I.e. AJ Styles, Daniels, the Naturals, Raven, Killings, Brown, Abyss, etc... those sort of people. We should get to see people like Konnan et al in the background, but they shouldnt really feature that much, except as opponents putting over TNA pure guys. This will send out the message that 'Ooooh I thought Nash was good, but for Styles to go over cleaning . . .' THATS JUST AN EXAMPLE. They should start the show with a balls out X Div match. Build up to a Naturals tag match on the hour mark and end with a pimped all night Daniels match. They should feature a strong man challange. I like the idea of a match to decide KotM but I cant see how Killings and Raven, in their current status can be justfied. They can be built up too, and fans should see them and say why aint they in the ME and then Tenay says that they have both been going through a slump. Slowly introduced people to the Destiny angle. I guess that leaves Killings for the KotM so therefore give him a reason for being there. AJs champ, JJ has got a rematch, Abyss is Number 1 contender and Brown has been buzzing of late. They should have AJ & 5th guy who is a face vs JJ and Brown the week before Slam. Have Abyss then come out and destroy everybody with the ladder. Tenay screams, how can Abyss lose. David Rodz Posted on May 28 2005, 09:58 PM Its the dumbest thing ever. It makes him look bush league. Why does he need it? On 2nd thoughts, start impact with it burning. That would be a good way to start. Im kidding btw. Hunter's Torn Quad Posted on May 28 2005, 10:22 PM I agree. But not with the people involved. I think it would bring more prestige if you have people like Jack Briscoe, Greg Valetine, Ole Anderson, Harley Race and somebody else on it, like Sting or Lex Luger or Terry Funk. Briscoe and Valetine can favour the faces and Anderson and Race the heals. Or a 3 man with Greg, Harley and somebody impartial. This committee wouldnt be heard of for some months. They somebody shouts out after a match, they are out to screw me. If you dont like the classic NWA people, you could go for Taylor, Douglas, Lynn, Tenay and somebody else. I dont know know who. I will remember who I had in mind a while ago. Sting maybe? But the person should not be an active wrestler. O yes, D'Amore, thats the 5th. The referees decision is final. Tenay should emphasis that only 1 referee can ref a match and that his decision is final. Ref bumps should be extremely rare. Conflicts in the chain of authority should be avoided as much as possible.

Anybody got a pic of that please?

How ridiculous. Killing the show so he can say that hes a 17 time World Champion. I dont see what the big deal. That means hes lost it 16 times. God, another 7 switches to go. I think vs Eugene was one of the best feuds hes had in the past 3 years . . . when it started. The way he came out with Evo on the highlight reel and gave him a hat, T-shirt and signed photo, and then said sign on my T-Shirt Eugene right near the naked girls BUTT and then he took a photo with him and said say 'Pedigree'. This is my major gripe with him. People busted their asses off for him, but the ungrateful SOB doesnt do it for others. One could claim that he did it for Benjamin, but it didnt last cause he beat before NYR. He did nothing for Benoit. Lets look at his Hit List since hes come back: Jericho (god knows how many times) Angle Undertaker (NO) HBK RVD Kane Booker Steiner Nash Goldberg Benoit Orton Eugene Flair Some of them thank god he did (example Nash), but look at the number of people on that list.

I too think its pretty much a done deal. He'll probably come out with Jeff and they'll get pushed to the top of the tag team scene (which is great, since TNA has never been fond of pushing a tag team not named AMW). I think the Nats need a good run with the titles before the Hardys win them, though. Matt has said that he'd do a Hardy Boyz reunion, but he'd rather keep doing singles work. Personally, I think he should do BOTH. As part of a tag team, he can babysit Jeff, keeping him motivated, out of trouble, and from killing himself. But, Matt is a great singles competitor, and I'd love to see him in the main event against guys like Styles, Raven, Daniels, or Abyss. Matt could work tag matches on some nights, as well as singles matches in the main event. The fact that he does both make him an even stronger challenger. Matt shouldn't get pushed to the top all at once (like winning the world title right out the gate), but he should definitely be treated like a star. He's a good gain for TNA: He's got starpower, national recognition, but more importantly (and rare), he can really go in the ring, and probably wouldn't mind putting others over... so basically, Matt's got everything that Jeff Jarrett THINKS he has. TNA would have a strong tag division with AMW, Naturals, NAO and Hardyz. Much more entertaining than the WWEs. I think the better matches would be with Raven and Daniels. Daniels and Matt are very similar in weight class, being above Lightweight. If you watch Raven's Shoot Video, youll hear about the great programme he had in mind for him and Matt, before he was released from the WWE. I first thought that you were saying that he should wrestle twice a night. Hes a useful player to have around without a doubt. Most probably the hottest free agent on the current market.

I think Michaels should go to SD. So should Eugene. Hopefully they could get Brock to sign for RAW (that would be ideal). If not, transfer some name talent from SD to RAW who has never been on RAW before. Any ideas?

No disrespect but as if that would work. HHH needs to be away from the title picture for a long duration, and that would never happen, so what is the point of HHH? Coming back after 6 months on SD as a face wouldnt change a thing. The guy wasnt even on SD and he got a title shot the night he was traded. All it would mean would that all faces on SD become heels for HHH to run over. I mean, come on, its ridiculous being a 10 time World Champ. Thats a sign that he should move on.

July 17 is the date of No Surrender. Do you think that's when he'll debut? This could be good news. I think it cant be a coincidence. As long as he doesnt get a mega push straight off the bat, I would like to see him.
-
agreed. I also agree that the Jarrett's need to stay as far away from the book as possible. I don't think TNA would benefit from this happening. I think Panda has wasted this much money, they may as well stick around to see if they might break even eventually. Now is not the time for Panda to back out, especially with the direction being of TNA being, of sorts, on the up, what with better TV deals on the horizon. For the love of god, of all people Jim FN Duggan.

I didnt mean my long post as being an attempt to squash you, just trying to create a discussion. Feel free to analyse my reply to your post.

HHH already gets face reactions from about 25-30% of the crowd, which can easily be raised to double in just a few weeks given the right amount of cool heelish moves. He has done everything there is to do as a heel, which means if he stays heel it will just be the repetitive shit we've been seeing for the past 3 years. HHH as a heel is bad, even if he performs better in the role. The purpose of him being a face is to get over heels and make a new star or two. Whether you like it or not is of little consequence. HHH has more potential as a face than he does as a heel, they can get better use of him in that role. I agree that he has done everything as a heel, but turning him face is not the solution, getting him off the TV for 6 months or trading him to SD is. Did you hear the cheer he got when his music hit the 1st SD after last years draft? Either way, he should not be RAW for a while. 2 points (1) HHH is a natural heel just like Hoganis a natural face and (2) HHH doesnt let people get over him. Look at Benjamin and Benoit. I know that whether me liking him or not is of little consequence and accept that, but I am entitled to my opinion.

Why would Jericho, a former Undisputed Champion, "find his love for wrestling" again after winning the IC title (a title that he's won numerous times)? He should be disappointed with anything less than the World Title. Exactly. I wouldnt like to be known as an 8 time IC champion and a 1 time Undisputed Champion.

If its true, that could possibly be the greatest thing to ever happen for TNA. I think having all these new guys come to TNA would be freakin' awesome, but TNA has trained me to be suspicious that they won't get too far in the company before they have to eat a guitar shot, so I'm not gonna cheer just yet... Yeah I can't say I would complain if Jeff Jarrett was out of the company completely at this point although it would be kind of tragic since him and his dad were the ones who started this whole company. I'd hate to see Jerry goes, but from reports lately he seems to be blinded by what would be best described as being inside the family bubble, meaning he's taking his son's role in the company more prominently than the big picture of success for the company. When this whole TNA thing started years ago, Jerry was very outside of this bubble but it now appears that him and Jeff have some sort of alliance against most of the rest of the company in general terms. I think it would be very cruel on JJ to dump him out. He has put a lot into TNA. I think TNA would be letting themselves down in they brought in many outside wrestlers in for major programmes with outside wrestler going over.

In reply to Magus. I agree, JJ shouldnt be champ again BUT I just think Raven has to be a face to win it and it would mean more if he beat JJs ass big time. Can you imagine Benoit winning the World Title as a heal? For me, Jericho as heal was the worst thing of his title reign. I said, its a problem to book. That means that AJ would be the best man for all the problems stated above, but for me, it does not feel as good as it should be. Makes sense, but ruins my dream ME. I know what your saying. You tie up the top 4 people of the company and JJ vs Monty fits. It tarnishes Raven winning it a bit for me. Nods. I agree. NAO will get cheap returning heat. Make it a dumpster match. Hardyz go over NAO and AMW in a Triple Threat Elimination Match at No Surrender, when AMW are eliminated by NAO and turn fully heal by beating the crap out of the one of the NAO whilst Matt and Jeff give the Twist and Sean to the other NAO member. I think Naturals lean very heavily towards heals but a face turn will freshen the up a bit. I agree about Mitchell. That would be great. I just dont see what the fuss is about Rhino. I guess I would have to see what he would do if he were to join TNA. I think that given the setting Abyss should face a higher echelon TNA veteran. I think it would need a decent stip. Maybe for a NWA North American Title, Hardcore Style? Isnt Ultimo still with WWE? I would like to see Ultimo but not at this PPV. For me, this is the one where everything as to click and fit. Daniels-Low Ki its very easy to book. No stip necessary. Daniels should have a long title run until AJ and Raven have had god terms as NWA Champ. Killings should go over no matter who he faces and to be honest, him vs Abyss was more of a lack of creaativity on my part but I think we will see HHH in TNA before we see Punk. I dont know what to do with Killings but know that he needs to get back in the Title and do so very soon. I personally think that nobody from Team Canada should be near the World Title. They could be pimp it buts thats most certainly it. OOOOO. I forgot Petey. Therefore Sonjay-Sabin-Petey-Juvi-Skipper-Shocker. But isnt Juvi locked in with WWE? How about a returning Amazing Red or (fingers crossed Kid Kash)? I think Shane will feature in some shape or form. As you can see, I am totally against bringing people in just for this event and laying the red carpet out for them. The focus should be, wow that was great, I will tune in more often to see these guys. And not, wow Joe, Messiah, Trent, Ultimo, Spanky, Austin, Brock, Rock, Xavier or whoever (I just named these randomly so dont hit out). Thanks TNABaddboi

Is that Jesus with the belt? That is, is Matt Striker Jesus?

I hate to admit it, but Matt is better off in TNA. More his style.

"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson "quits" ROH
zyn081 replied to DangerousDamon's topic in General Wrestling
TNA wouldn't be the right place for him. With 10 minutes tv time limits his matches wouldn't be given the time they needed. You guys read my mind. Could he be the 5th man in KotM. I cant see it and dont think he do well in TNA though. Shame to see him go from ROH. He reminds of Jericho. A fan favourite and always thereabouts but never there. ROH rocked with Joe, Punk, Homicide and Dragon. -
For what its worth, AS was always ok with me. I remember our back and forth over last years No Mercy.
-
I have to ask: What did Big Boss do to get suspended? I like Storm, but I cant imagine him in the ME. Tag Team and IC/US definitely. Would have preferred him over the Dudleyz any day in Team Austin. That would have made the match even better. I like the people he tagged with too. Justin, Awesome, Skipper, Christian, Regal and Morely. Would have liked to see he spend more time in OVW. Would have preferred it if he was like in TNA's Team Canada or Manager. I think he would have done well in TNA, as its more his style. I can see him doing a gig in ROH every now and then, since hes a traditionalist. Good luck to him, since hes been lucky on the injury front and made some good money. He comes across as a nice guy. There was nothing for him in WWE.
-
Hes pretty 1-dimensional and wrestling is the only thing I think that he can do. He wouldnt stick in a suit though. On a side note, I think the Hogan think was done well. Shame the pin wasnt from a legdrop.
-
Im going to repost when I get to the end, but why is the solution: TRADE WRESTLERS. For the love . . . If they switch the WWE Title that means that they have to switch the WWE Tag Team Titles too. That means that SD will have: (1) The World Heavyweight Title (2) The US Title (3) The World Tag Team Titles (4) The Cruiserweight Title Smells like WCW. Id like to see a swerve and switch just the IC and US Titles. I like the idea of Austin being a reformed man and in a suit and yall OR on commentary. I liked him doing the Angle-Benoit cage match.
