And don't forget the fourth villian that's going to be in it. That's one of the nerdiest things I've ever heard.

The movie cost 180 million to make. Where the hell do you come up with 350? And yeah 21 million isn't great, but it's in pretty good teritory for a wednesday opening. King Kong doing 9 million on it's opening wednesday, now THAT was a dissapointment. Especially with all the hyperbole in the press about how it could topple Titanic. Straight from Entertainment Weekly: $25 million (Nicolas Cage and Tim Burton's salaries from the first project) $20 million (Ratney's and Abrams' salaries and preproduction costs for the second project) $20 million (McG's salary and preproduction costs) $204 million (The budget) $19 million (Australia tax credits) $100 million (Worldwide marketing, estimate) It actually equals $388 million. Ok, marketing and the previous films, I get you (however, I've heard the producer say that the 204 million is a false figure). Though shouldn't that 19 million tax credits be subtracted?

Please 21 mil on a WEDNESDAY is anything but a disapointment for the first film in a series.

That whole angle was completely unnecessary and pointless. I'm not even a animal lover and I felt uncomfortable. That shit was GOLD! GOLD! Maybe a bit too dark... nah fuck it. That was hillarious.

Just caught an afternoon showing with some buddies and we all loved it. Amazingly well done. I was expecting great things from this movie and it damn well delivered. It had amazing action, great characterization, and really good humour (without needing 'jokes' and slaptick crap like the original movies had). The special effects were awesome and the 'basic' stuff like him lifting off from the ground were seemless. Brandon Routh knocked it out of the park with this. His delivery, mannerisms, and the way he looked were spot on for Clark and Superman/ Spacey was great as well, and the characterization of Lex in this movie was practically perfect. Kate Bosworth was really good in her role as well. I kind of wish that Lois had a bit more 'edge' to her. Kind of closer to the oringinal Superman movie, I actually think the chick on Smallville has Lois' characterization down perfectly. Lois still worked in this movie though. There's just not enough good stuff I can say about that film. Go see it NOW. Singer himself set the record straight and said that this movie came in under 180 million. That's not counting all the 'failed starts' and such, but those don't really have anything to do with this film. Are you kidding? Not a serious threat? Lex's scheme in this movie was hardcore I kept expecting myself to hate Parker Posey, but I thought she worked really well. I don't know, I can see how people would'nt like it, but for some reason I did. And yeah, the character of Richard was incrediably well written and acted.

God that trailer was so awesome. Yeah I kinda hope they do that as well. I mean the movie series is a completely different universe than the comics. They don't need to follow what happens in the comics at all. I think killing off Mary Jane instead of Gwen would be a great twist.

Man I wish I could see this thing in IMAX-3D. I don't know if it's Canada or something, but the IMAX in my city isn't showing it or has it listed as upcoming.

What?! There's Vince opening (maybe) the biggest movie of all time, and there's Ari starting up his own agency. Those are the storylines. Besides this isn't fucking Lost or something, I don't really require storylines out of a show like Entourage. I don't think the first 2 episodes have been as awesome as some in the past. But they've still been great. I don't know if you CAN get a bad episode out of this show.

Yeah, that issue you bought was a Civil War tie-in. If you were looking for the issue where he unmaskes you want Civil War #2.

This will definately go down as one of the biggest moments in comic book history. As to whether I like it... well I haven't really decided yet. It was a really powerful moment (if it hadn't been spoiled in advance it would have been even better. What is with Marvel always giving away their MAJOR plot points in advance?) so it definately worked really well in it's execution. I don't really know if this will be a good or bad thing in the long run. Parker's not in high school/college anymore and he's married to a supermodel so the whole dichotomy of "teenage loser who is actually super cool in his double life" that made Spider-Man so great in the first place was tossed out ages ago. And this new decelopment will definately give them a lot of good story ideas fot the near future, but when those runs out could this hurt the character perminantly? That's the question that I can't decide on. The hugeness of the situation and the immediate ramifications just overshadow the potential long term effects at this moment. But hey, in 1/2/5/10 years they might just have some cosmic being/reality altering mutant/Doctor Strange/continuitiy reboot reverse all this and he'll be back to the status quo. Anyways, there's still Ultimate Spider-Man, who still has all of the things that made him classic in the first place.

1982? 1982! Dude, it's 2006! YOU DON'T FUCKING HAVE AIDS!!!!!! And some people are being gigantic dicks to this guy in this thread. More so then he deserves (and I'll admit, he does deserve some of it). Probably to cover up a bunch of their own crippling insecurities.

Looks like Vince is the sane one in all of this. And I'm ecstatic that Vince has become a huge Sabu mark. You think he would've seen some of Sabu's matches years ago, so he wouldn't have to bemoan the fact that he didn't sign him earlier. Nah, I'm sure Vince just sees this as "Oh God! Sabu = A-RAB. And we're not on UPN with this show. Now we can finally do that awesome angle we tried with Mohammed Hassan that got interrupted!"

Is HBO still doing a 4th season of The Wire this year? Because if so, that and Entourage put it over FX in my mind. And The Shield doing a 7th season is great news. I've actually really really liked every single episode of that show from all seasons.

Bullshit bitch. You are anything but a Christian, or at least a good Christian. My mom's Catholic (and a conservative" and she think's you are fucking evil. I will admit though-If I had the chance, I'd probably hit it. She has awesome legs. Has this thread seriously gone this long without invoking this classic:

Well met laddie.

He's got to be on his knees praying that Roloson isn't seriously hurt. Otherwise, there'll be a public hanging in Edmonton. Fuck yeah. And Don Cherry made a damn good point about him sitting there picking his nose when that breakaway goal was scored instead of racing back to center to block him after Staios lost the puck. But MAN, Ward had some AMAZING saves.
-
That was great.

HAHA VICTORY! It all started in this thread. These have been slowly cropping up around the internet and there's still 6 months left in Civil War so I think this one could reach critical mass.

Yeah, but if Cable's supposed to be so all powerful, why is he carrying around all these guns all the time? Him and Bishop just reek of that 90s of attitude of 'dozens of guns on every superhero.' Once again, I agree that Cable/Deadpool handled him correctly. One of my favorite moments in that series was when him and Deadpool are scraping and deadpool shoots Cable into this weapons armory and Cable pops out holding this gigantic fucking chain gun that says (in huge letters on the side) "Liefeld XS." Man Cable/Deadpool is awesome.
-
That's a pretty fucking stupid statement.
-
Can I toss some votes for Cable and Bishop here. I know they're popular and all, and interesting things may have been done with them in the past (Cable/Deadpool is amazing for example), but I just think that they don't fit at all with the X-Men due to the emphasis on guns.

There's a better version of the new trailer: http://playlist.yahoo.com/makeplaylist.dll...qtw=640&qth=400 "Gods are selfish beings who fly around in little red capes and don't share their power with mankind." I also really like that moment right after it looks like Lex has just stabbed Superman or something and says into his ear "Now Fly." And when it shows Supes rising up through the clouds into the sun and clenching his fist, that scene from Dark Knight Returns (if you've read it you know what I'm talking about) immediately came into my head.

Oh oh oh. I pick Mary Jane.
