God, that episode was hillarious. Jim refferencing West Side Story those couple times cracked me up. Jim: "Yeah well you know what they say, when you're a Jet you're a Jet all the way.." Michael: "Oh you were a Jet?" And Dwight's blog is sweet.

Not carring about the internet fans is going to bite them in the ass big time. People completely underestimate the power of the internet in these things. The movie industry gets it. Look at all the movies that keep getting Greenlit because they have 'enthusiast' (read: net geek) cred. I mean, we would have never got that version of the latest Batman movie or Sin City if the executives wern't listening to those people. For God's sake, the last Superman script and production(before the one currently being filmed) got completely torpedoed by essentially Aint-it-cool-news alone. Entertainment industries pay TONS of attention to their entusiast markets and spend millions catering to them. The IWC is the enthusiast market of the wrestling industy. Why doesn't the E listen to them like the other industries.

SMACKED-DOWN! I've been waiting for someone to say that to the people who bitch about TNA giving belts to guys who've lost matches in the E.

Jesus Bob, that's rough.

Thnaks for that. That was a good (and interesting) read. I find it interesting that Moore opted to go with the whole 'Nixon as president' thing instead of going with Regan while Frank Millar went all the way with Regan in DKR which was released the same year and had a cold war theme as well. Also cool to read about all the infulence it had on others, especially the creators of Lost. That is brilliant!

I thought the whole point of Infinite Crisis was that continuity WAS totally messed up (sometimes intenionally) and they were going to make it all clean again at the end of the series. I mean the writers were given permission to do all sorts of messed up continuity stuff lately weren't they? Like having the Kryptonian Supergirl come back, or the Crime Sydicate. Or that whole arc with the 'alternate present' in Superman/Batman. So I can accept stuff like Mongul showing up because the universe is getting so fucked up that it's supposed to be pretty much 'anything goes' at this point. I mean, there's two Lex Luthors running around!
-
Are you referring to the fact that his face (under her left boot) doesn't look as faded as everything else? Cause if so, that's an awesome observation. Wasn't there a storyline where Darksied was trying to break through the 'wall' at the end of the universe? Maybe beyond that wall was the place where Superman/Superboy/Lois/Axlexander went to. Or maybee we're on crack and it's just supposed to be an image of him in the panels.

Wow, that's some cool stuff, the three Superman spaceships is very interesting. I wonder if all the stuff shown in this cover is supposed to have anything to do with the new Crisis? It also looks like it could be Power Girl seeing all the biggest happenings in the history of the DCU. I mean you've got: -Superman's Death -Batman's back being broken -Parralax -Superman, Superboy, and Lois leaving the universe. -The JLA meeting the JSA -Barry Allen's death -Barry Allen meeting Jay Garrick (the first Earth1/Earth2 crossover) -WW killing Max Lord So it's got a bunch of COIE related stuff (like the Monitor and Anti-Monitor), but a bunch of other non-crisis related stuff (like Batman finding Jason's body and Superman dying), so I wonder?

Justice is amaing so far. The artwork is just great and has sort of a different look from most of Ross' other stuff, as he's painting over someone else's pencils. The story is really drawing me in too.

Riiiiiiiiiiight. It just won an Emmy for best DRAMA, and is one of the highest rated and most mainstream shows on TV. Don't really think it fits here. -

From the finale of season 1: G.O.B (breaking down) I’ll handle this one, Michael. Don’t you worry. It will take a lot more than a heart attack to kill that old bear. Old bear! He likes the honey. He never got a chance to see my bee business take off. Michael: Come on, now, Dad’s going to be around another 30 years, G.O.B. Your business, uh, might not. G.O.B.: You’re a good brother, Michael. Heart attack never stopped old Big Bear. That kills me every time -

Man. I LOVED 'Ready, Aim, Marry Me.' I've only seen it once, but I thought it was hillarious and I liked Martin Short in it. That was one of my favorite episodes and I don't see the "backlash" against it. It has some of the best Tobias lines ever: Tobias: Well, yes, but I’m afraid I prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run, if you will, so now I’m afraid I have something of a mess on my hands. Michael: There are just so many poorly chosen words in that sentence. Tobias: Oh. Can you imagine how jealous that would make her? “Where’s Tobias?” “Oh, he’s just sharing a romantic horseback ride with Michael Bluth, and they’re dipping each other in...” Oh, you didn’t get any body chocolate? I love each and evey episode of all 3 seasons of Arrested Development, but for the record my favorites are 'Pier Pressure,' the one with Heather Graham (can't remember name), and 'Meet the Veals. -
Actually, the Sun doesn't have enough mass to go supernova. It'll just turn into a red giant in a few billion years and probably finish Earth off that way. Then again, we'll probably freeze to death first. Nothing will survive after "heat death" anyway. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Please, 'Heat Death' of the universe? We all know that's fear-mongering by the damn environmentalists. The increse in universal entropy is a natural fluctuating process that can never cause anybody any harm. And if you disagree, well then you must be a COMMUNIST!

The end of that game almost gave me a heart attack. But great game overall.
-
Given Parker and Stone have become out and out Bush apologists with their creative output in recent years, <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uh did you not see the one with the whole 'persistave vegetative state' thing last season? Golden PSP ring a bell?

I'm getting it and i'll be my first TNA PPV. During SummerSlam me and my friends just kept going "Man this sucks, let's get TNA next time."
-
2002 called, it wants its pop-culture reference back. Just kidding, but seriously the worst song ever is "We buit this city on Rock and Roll."
-
Yeah there's another issue but I think it's pretty cleat that the end of 7 was the climax of the storyline, there's just the 'wrapping up' to go. And I think it's 198 that referrs to the number of mutants left. Yeah it seems like they're just trying to undo Grant Morrison's work here, but if they have a clear plan with where they're going with this then I think the developments could show some promise.

Whatever, Aquaman has strength and kick-ass fighting skillz on land too.

From Newsarama. You can see the full charts there. Looks like the critical disdain for ASBAR hasn't slowed sales, and it seems that the New Avengers experiment has been a resounding success. The OaO Arrested Development Season 3 thread

So who else bought the season 2 DVD? I got it yesterday and watched the first 6 episodes. 'Afternoon Delight' (the one with the office christmas party) is so hillarious. -
Personally I haven't really liked the series, and I rarely buy Marvel. But I read the latest issue at a friend's house and it wasn't crap. The ending seems like it'll have some consequences to say the least. Discuss.
-
Wow, I thought that issue was flat-out awesome. "The last time you really inspired someone...was when you were dead." Has got to be one of the greatest comic book lines ever. The book really delivered that epic feel in my opinion and it seems like this is going to be the 'real deal' in terms of a universe-shattering event. Here's some of my thoughts: (And yeah, do we need spoiler tags at this point?) -The Freedom Force fight was fabulous. -I love the huge epic splash pages from all the Raan/Thangar War stuff. -Yeah, the Mongul stuff didn't really interest me, but I didn't think it was a 'waste of 1/3rd of the issue on a lame Alan Moore homage.' The confrontation between Bats, Supes, and WW afterwards was great. - -Batman can't breath in space Renegade, the atmospheric shield is still up, barely. -Will Jason Todd, Supergirl, and the Hal-Jordan return turn out to have been results of the reality-altering event. -
