Well one film is about Bush sucks. The other is about Jesus getting killed. Not total opposites. But being how the media simplifies things, those movies came to encompass the red state vs blue state theory and what the movies are really about ceased to matter. The Passion is viewed as having gotten it's box office take due to the support of cultural and religious conservtives who supported Bush. Farenheit 9/11 is viewed as having gotten it's box office take due to the support of liberals who were against Bush. Regardless of content, if both were nominated what you for certain wouldn't hear is that the acadamy didn't let one get nominated due to bias. I think it's too soon to be making any sort of accurate predictions because ther's still a lot of time and political manuvering by the studios to go. That having been said, it should be noted Farenheit 9/11 was disqualified from all Golden Globe catagories because it was considered a documentary. The Passion was disqualified for Best Picture because any movie that's not in english has to compete in the foriegn film catagory (but it got snubbed there too). I don't think Farenheit 9/11 has any chance fr a Best Picture nod. It may have a chance at director or screenplay nods if Moore get nominated at the guild awards (Bowilng for Columbine won the Writer's Guild award for Best Original Screenplay). The Passion has a better shot at a Best Picture ( I think there's more support from within the acadamy). I pretty sure it will get technical nods like Best Cinimatography. If Gibson and Caviezal get DGA or SAG nominations then they have a chance.

I had to leave after "Key Party" and haven't seen the rest of the show but I think everyone else liked it better than I did. I suprised DeNiro is coming back, he didn't seem to enjoy himself last time.

They said on TV that they would announce the SS main event on tv the next week. Heenen on commentary went about assuming that Flair was getting the shot since his fued with Randy was still going on. The next week they announce that the Ultimate Warrior is the #1 contender and is getting the shot. It starts off with it being billed a face vs. face match. Then few weeks later Savage is getting interviewed on tv, Flair comes out and tells him that The Warrior has asked Mr. Pefect (Flair's manager) to be in his corner at SummerSlam. Warrior is interviewed the next week, Mean Gene ask him if it's true. Before Warrior can answer, Perfect shows up and tells him that Savage has now made him a counter offer to be in his corner and it's now a bidding war. So until Summerslam Savage and Warrior both deny that Perfect will be with them. Flair, Perfect, and Bobby all insist secret negotiations are taking place and the whole run up to the match is built around "Who's corner will Mr. Perfect be in?". Of coruse it was all a plot to screw both Savage and Warrior over and get them all angry, paranoid, and to mess with their minds.

How about when after Andre signs it. He starts talking to Hogan in french and Hogan yells: "SPEAK ENGLISH WHEN YOU TALK TO ME MAN!"

Early '86, he was a heel for about a year. He turned face when Honky Tonk Man hit him with a guitar to set up WM3. Yes, the plan was for a rematch one year later where Hogan would get his win back. Vince decided to expliot the Gulf War instead and had Hogan beat Sgt. Slaughter Honky Tonk Man said he was the greatest I-C champ of all time and Savage objected. Macho became the defacto face in the feud. In Oct. '87 Savage faced Honky Tonk Man for the I-C title on Saturday Night's Main Event. After Jimmy Hart had gotten knocked out, the Hart Foundation took him to the back and came back and stayed in Honky's corner. They constantly interfered and got Honky dq'ed. Afterwords they ganged up on Randy and held him so Honky could hit him with the guitar, Elizabeth ran in and begged Honky to show mercy and Honky shoved out of the way. Elizabeth runs to the back, with Vince (on commentary) selling it like she's running for her saftey. A minute later she comes back with Hogan who runs in and cleans house. Hogan and Savage shook hands and the Mega-Powers were born, although they would really do anything again until WM4. Due to the steroid scandal it was decided that Hogan was going on hiatis after WM 8. Since he wasn't going to be at house shows or on tv for the fociable future, he couldn't win the title from Flair and he wasn't going to let Flair beat him, so the Flair match wasn't an option. I've heard that Sid got promised the WM main event as incentive to jump the year before and they never had any intention of going with Hogan-Flair as the main event. In the storyline, Sid walked out on Hogan in a tag team match because he was jelous that Hogan had gotten the title shot over him. Afterwords they announced that Hogan said wanted a match with Sid more than the title match.

There's an old WWF video called Hulkamania 3 that showed all the angles that led up to it. In January of '87 Hogan goes on Piper's pit (Hogan was a face by this time), gets honered by Jack Tunney for being Champion for 3 years, and has a big trophy presented to him. Andre shows up since he's Hogan's friend and when Piper asks him for comment he just says "three years to be a champion is a long time." The next week Jack Tunney honers Andre for going undefeated for 15 years (that was a load of crap, but it's how Vince wanted it) and gives him a trophy that's noticably smaller than the one Hogan got the week before. As Andre starts his comments Hogan shows up and goes on about how it's about time Andre got honered and keeps on going on for a minute basically hogging Andre's spotlight. When Hogan finishes talking he notices that Andre has walked out. Then on Piper's pit they have a face off where Andre show's up with Heenen. Bobby says Hogan has been ducking Andre and laughing at him behind his back for years. Andre then challenges him for the title at Wrestlemania. Hogan stars blubbering about how they're friends and it's not happening, so Andre rips the shirt and crusifix off of Hogan to prove he's serious. Jake the Snake vs Hercules from Summerslam '88 had no feud. Jake was feuding with Rude and they just needed an excuse for Jake to be there so hje could brawl with Rude. Rude vs Steamboat had no fued, it was just a match put on the show. Edit: While I was writing this, MillenniumMan beat me to the punch

I know, no one could ever talk Vince into throwing money away for petty political reason.

Are you talking about William Daniels? Because that wasn't him. You sure about that? The voice and moustache definitely seemed like it was K.I.T.T... This is who the IMDB list as having guest starred: "All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues" Episode: #1.11 - 8 December 2004 Michael Adamshick .... Anesthesiologist Christian Bowman .... Steve William Mapother .... Ethan Jackie Maraya .... Andrea Matt Moore .... Husband Mark Dillen Stitham .... Head Doctor John Terry .... Dr. Shephard Just looked at that link and realised that Claire is always listed as a guest star.

Are you talking about William Daniels? Because that wasn't him. Yeah, I thought he was dead. I was convinced when Jack was beating his chest to the point where it stopped being CPR and bacame Jack hoping for a miracle. I don't like how it was done because if they weren't really going to kill Charlie off, then he should have been revived sooner. They've promised that a major character is getting bumped off before the season is over, but teases like this are going to make it lose its impact when it actually happens. No, because the're setting up a Jack-Kate-Sawyer love triangle and I'm sure they don't want Sawyer to be too unsympathetic. With all the characters they're trying to juggle they can't give everybody something to do. There has to have been about three episodes that Claire wasn't in before tonight. I agree with the theory that it's an old shelter or the plane that the people already there crashed on the island in. I was kind of hoping that everyone would get their own flashback(spotlight) episode before they started over and had 2nd Jack or Kate flashback shows. Here's hoping Hurley gets his own before the end of the season.

In '91 the Nasty Boys had only started on televison about a week before. I think somebody who was supposed to be in dropped out and they had one empty slot and I assume they just gave it to Knobbs. They didn't announce on TV prior to the event that only Brian Knobbs would be in the Rumble. I'm not sure about '92.

I hardly ever peek into this forum so I didn't even know about this thread. Happy (Belated) Birthday, Bob. Enjoy it.

I thought Fred's Danza impression was the funniest part of the show, I actually laughed out loud. Did Tina think the audience would know who Maureen Dowd was? Even for those of us who do know, even less have actually heard her speak and got the joke. I didn't notice Maya, but you could tell the moment was real when Amy cried while Bono was hugging here. The NBC affiliate here in Houston dosen't show Classic SNL, we get 'Showtime at the Apollo' instead. They don't even delay it until 3 a.m. like I'm sure other cities do, they just don't show it at all. We don't get the Carson Daly show either, but I'm somewhat grateful for that. BTW, nothing to do with SNL but does anyone else wonder what the deal is with that stupid Levis commercial? The jeans are low rise jeans that fit tightly around the girl, the dog steals them, and the same pair are loose and go above the waist on the guy who is much bigger than the girl. The damn thing is just made to get the shot of the girl in her underwear and they don't even get that right.

If Pixar isn't involved, I hope Hanks and Allan don't participate either. If Hanks and Allen are in it, the general public might get suckered into beliveing it's a legit sequal. If they're not, then the public will recognize it's just another cheap Disney sequal like the others mentioned.

I just saw an ad that says it opens December 10th in NY and LA and nationwide (and presumably Canada) on Christmas Day.

Yes, they did. Snake is going through Chemo, feels like crap, is angry at everyone, and wants to die. Wheels shows up to cheer him up. Snake tells him he can't understand what he's going through, Wheels tells him that he knows what it's like to want to die because he felt it while in prison. Kevin Smith never made it a secret that he loved Degrassi. Caitlin in "Clerks" is named after Caitlin from "Degrassi", Shannon Doeherty wears a jacket that says "Degrassi" in Mallrats, plus there was the dialoge from Chasing Amy. He was supposed to play Caitlin's fiance in the pilot for Degrasi: TNG, but he was too busy filming J&SBSB and they got Don McKellar to play the roll instead.

My mother once saw an angry women come back to return a movie and demand her money back because she didn't realize that the movie she had rented was about gay people until she started to watch it and she refused to finish it because she found it to be offensive. The movie..... "The Birdcage". Being offended is one thing, but who rents a movie they know nothing about without reading the box. Ask somebody to describe The Birdcage in one sentence and "Gay" would be one of the first words.

I hope it really is released everywhere on Christmas Day and not one of these movies where it opens in NY and LA on Christmas and everywhere else in the middle of January.

Good Show this week. I don't think anyone is willing to tell Tina that it isn't working with Amy, (We know Amy got the slot because she's Tina's friend and I think Tina wants to prove something about women being able to do anything). I don't think a change will be made until next season. If Tina leaves they can put someone else with Amy, If Tina stays I'm betting it will stay as is. Well, when she's in a skit and a black man plays her husband you ask how the guy's familly feels about him being married to a white women, so I think you just like taking shots at her. Why do I even get started with the Maya comments?

Shortest. Episode. Ever. Shorter than "Best of Rob Schnider"?

Does Avril actually write her own songs? It seems that for all of her songs she's credited as part of a team of 3 or 4 writers.

Alright, he bashed the Gogos. Bob finally pissed me off. Seriously, the only criticism of the Duff sisters' duet I have is that I couldn't tell the difference between their voices. I don't think the cover sounded that different from the original. So I don't think a "the original sucked, but the new version is good" argument holds water."

MSNBC dosen't know what it wants to be, everyone thought they were trying to be the liberal network when they hired Phil Donohue, but then they canceled him and replaced him with Michael Savage (who was quickly fired) and Joe Scarborough.
