  1. My phone didn't stop ringing while I was at work today (Gamestop). Gamestop and EB Games (unless the rules vary by region) aren't taking preorders for the Wii SYSTEM until each store finds out how many units it will be allocated. This will likely happen at some point in the next week. Most of the GAMES however can already by preordered. It got to the point that I had to change the phone greeting to "Thank You for calling Gamestop, no we are NOT taking preorders for the Wii system yet. How may I help you?".
  2. 1 - I work at a Gamestop in a mall. My gate is pulled-down and locked, my lights are off, I'm in there to do the opening paperwork. Everymorning, someone will walk by (mall-walkers) and either A) Try their damndest to pull my gate up, then ask why it wont go up B) Ask am I open yet C) Start asking for random trade-in values You can come back at 10 like everyone else. 2 - People who use the word "as" in place of "since" or "because". It just irritates the shit out of me. 3 - People who constantly say 'UM" while speaking.
  3. There isnt much I can add to the discussion that hasnt already been said. Goldberg had an almost unmatched intensity in the ring. His look, entrance, music, in-ring personality, all added to his appeal. The first time I saw him on TV, in his debut against Hugh Morrus, all I saw was a 6'5 more muscular version of Steve Austin. Then I see this guy kick out of Morrus's moonsault (which was death at the time), then bust out a standing moonsault, before splattering Morrus all over the ground with this weird suplex/powerslam thing. I knew right then and there that I was seeing the beginning of something special. One of my favorite Goldberg moments was from very early in his WCW tenure. He had a television title match against Disco Inferno. This freak of nature had the man speared and Jackhammered before the bell even rang to start the match. Even though he won the match by DQ thanks to interference from Mongo, it still helped add to his monster persona. The man got over (as others have said ) without ever saying a word. He LOOKED like a killer. Goldberg was never technically sound, but he didn't need to be. Fans cheered his name throughout a show just hoping to see him destroy some random wrestler in under a minute with some of the most devastating moves at the time. If WWE had continued to book Goldberg as the monster that he was in WCW, I have a feeling we would probably still be seeing him wrestle today.
  4. I have been waiting for that as well. One part of me wants to see the Undertaker lose his streak to a wrestler that still has a lot of life in the ring ahead of him. The other part wants to see he and Benoit put on a clinic, and witness not only Benoit beat him at Mania, but do the unthinkable and make him TAP THE FUCK OUT. Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak is probably the greatest put-over in wrestling today. Imagine the credibility that ending it would give to someone.
  5. I guess I have been living under a rock. I had heard of this Fred Phelps fellow before, but didn't know he was associated with the group that was protesting in Shankesville. He is truly a disgrace of a human being.
  6. I am terrified beyond imagination of heights. It's not the height itself that bothers me though. It's getting to the height that scares me shitless. Climbing a ladder, roller coaster, airplane, it doesn't matter. Once I actually get high-up, its not bad. It's getting there that's the hard part. The thought of breaking my neck and/or becoming paralyzed doesn't sit well with me. Death by being burned alive/drowning sounds horrible. If faced with that fate, and if I were in a rational state of mind, I would attempt to give myself a quick demise by inhaling as much smoke/water as needed to quickly end my suffering.
  7. http://www.gerotex.it/wrestling/foto/divas/tammy/tam18.jpg That may possibly be the funniest thing I've seen all day. Her fake tits look pretty laughable as well.
  8. Whats the deal with this church that has been protesting at Shankesville, PA, carrying signs that say "Thank God for 9/11" and "God Hates Fags"? Of all the days you can do your stupid little protest, you just HAVE to do it while there are families and friends of the victims present?
  9. Here is a shot of the *BLING* that I took with my cell phone while at work today. Bask in its glory!
  10. Feel free to delete this post.
  11. Didn't Goldberg job to HECTOR FUCKING GUERRERO during his early days of WCW?
  12. My store didn't promote this whatsoever. We do have several t-shirts, stickers, and the official Nintendo *BLING* necklace. Yes, the damned thing was called an "Official Nintendo Bling Necklace" on the packing list for the box that contained all the promo items. The necklace is a 2+ pound silver crown on a thick sterling silver chain. So, since no tournament took place today, my manager said hes going to give the bling to the associate with the best productivity neck week. Oh joyous day! I wonder what one of those things would sell for on Ebay?
  13. or Nathan Jones?
  14. I can see both of your points here. I just remember the ungodly amounts of money that the 360 was selling for last year, and figured if I could possibly double, or triple my investment, then I would have no problem spending the night on a sidewalk somewhere.
  15. Anyone think it'd still be a good idea to pick one up on launch day for the sole purpose of throwing it on Ebay?
  16. RIP you crazy son of a bitch.
  17. For a 10 minute drive, gas in SC will run you approx. 50 cents cheaper than it will in Georgia at the moment. I have a friend that refuses to make the drive because it will "waste gas". So he casually goes about paying $2.85 for gas, while I get it for $2.32. For 2 or 3 cents, I normally wouldn't bother either, but to save close to, or over 50 cents depending on location, I'll drive 10 minutes. I'm not sure if that qualifies as cheap, or just plain lazy.
  18. I thought Angle won the WWF title after HHH did a run-in during his title match and hit the Rock with the Pedigree? Is this a different match Im thinking of?
  19. Here in SC it's anywhere from $2.34 - $2.43 for 87 grade. It's definitely a welcome change. The strange part is, not even 15 minutes away in Georgia, you still see 87 grade for $2.75-$2.90 depending on the location.
  20. I've never heard of Dirty Sanchez. Is it the same as the Team Sanchez show that MTV2 occasionally shows?
  21. I love the packaging for this new editions, but I'm happy with my extended edition boxed set. For those that have the extended editions, what did you think of the concept art for an alternate final battle scene from Return of the King featuring Aragorn vs Sauron? I never read the books, so I'm not sure if this would've caused a huge gaping plot hole, but I definitely would've liked to have seen those two fight it out.
  22. Didn't Khali basically accomplish that? He made his debut and destroyed Taker, and the match from Judgement Day (?) was nothing short of an extended squash.
  23. The ultimate put over as far as the Undertaker is concerned would definitely be at a Wrestlemania, as others have said. However, the best possible rub off from this would be to not only beat Taker at Mania, but for someone do the unthinkable and make him tap out, clean, in the middle of the ring. I know this pretty much happened in a match with Angle a few years back (Taker, while in his Biker gimmick, pinned Angle, but tapped out at the same time), but its not acknowledged by WWE. A pinfall would be more than enough to put someone over huge, but can you imagine the credibility as a legitimate threat it would be for someone to be able to say they made Taker tap out?
  24. The best blind buy I can think of is actually Clock Tower 3. I had never played any of the other games in the series, but I was very impressed with this. I enjoyed the holy water system, and the game had above average graphics for the time. Not to mention, the cinemas were quite good. It was worth every penny of the $14.99 I paid for it.
  25. WWE hasn't visited Augusta since December 2004, so this is definitely something big to look forward to. The main event then was Randy Orton / Benoit / Edge vs Evolution. Quite an entertaining show. Even got to see Muhammed Hassan and Chris Masters long before anyone cared who they were. I would've never thought when I was at that house show, nearly 2 years ago, that the next time WWE would be here would be for a PPV.
