Take this advice which I lifted from the late great Country Dick Montana:
Go down to the market and get yourself one fresh uncleaned fish and a ziploc bag big enough to hold it and seal shut nicely. Then stash it behind a radiator or in a heating duct (and well). Nothing will happen off the bat, but after a few days, fishy may be dead, but fishy will by no means be done. At this point you better be long gone.
