  1. Fucking up quotes is best.
  2. BOB Johnson.
  3. My (former) female boss was making us do retarded shit like buy cigarettes for her chain-smoking and coffe for the kitchen (even though we could never have any because of our work load). She was terminated recently, and good riddance. She was a cougar with a princess complex.
  4. Jimmy "JJ" Walker looks on in the background.
  5. So what IS with that thingy?
  6. I doubt it-- he's not obsessing about it. Maybe if you said you'd fuck his mom or something...
  7. I'd say you're wrong.
  8. "RACECAR" spelled backwards is "RACECAR."
  9. Actually, more like the kid of the guy who was Gomez on "The Addams Family" sitcom and "Buddy" on Night Court. But I feel MUCH better now!
  10. Pauly Shore was a nobody at that point too. The movie did $40 million at the box office, which means it did alot of repeat business with people saying "dude, you have to check this movie out. There's this incredibly retarded dude who can make sound effects with his hand". The trailer for it was before "Wayne's World," which is pretty much telling people "If you're going to see this, you might as well see this too." How much box office did "Wayne's World" do?

The right too, evidently. Agreed on the rest.

    More new Neil Young

WHAT... THE... FUCK. I know this is supposed to be in the vein of Dylan, Ochs, et al, and I am pleased to see he's back working with Niko Bolas. But, for God's sake, what the hell are saying here that's NEW? This is just bandwagon jumping. The music is fine (probably the best backing band since Harvest Moon) but as far as making a statement goes... well it doesn't. Second, just because you can get a 100 voice choir doesn't mean you NEED TO USE A 100 VOICE CHOIR. I believe this is the Vocoder Clause, first instated after "A Man Needs A Maid" was cut. I give it a couple more listens for the benefit of the doubt, but jesus, Neil, you could be doing so much more here.
  13. Yeah, that's still cool.
  14. So we go from Laurer to JD Roth to Pete Townshend in a fright wig.
  15. Ceiling cat is cooler. I've still got to go with "DO NOT WANT."
  16. The Pogues (largely before Shane MacGowan left the band), 70s era Eric Clapton, and Van Morrison.

    More new Neil Young

Can't listen to it, for whatever reason. It'll be out in a couple of weeks anyway. He's got the same band behind him that he did the most part of "Freedom." Crazy Horse just wouldn't be right for this kind of material.
  18. "What is it, Lef-ten-ent Sebastian?" "It's just the Rebels, sir. They're here." "By God man! Do you know what they want?" "I don't know, but they've brought a flag."
  19. *flops over dead with gaping head wound*
  20. Tricky - Maxinquaye: "Hell is Round the Corner", "Pumpkin", "Aftermath" Neil Young - Time Fades Away: "Yonder Stands The Sinner", "L.A.", "Love in Mind" Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet - Savvy Show Stoppers: "Good Cop, Bad Cop", "Musical Interlude", "Theme from TV"

    What about Ruff Ryders?

Mediocre? Yes. Actively terrible to the point of unlistenable? No. It's the difference between eating wheat puffs straight up and chowing down on a big bowl of rusty staples. If you want to come right down to it, there's been a lot of mediocre stuff since he took that layoff after Broken Arrow (Greendale is hit and miss, but the effort is there). Silver and Gold is the beta version of Prairie Wind. Road Rock is totally disposable. But you know what? The same thing can be said of American Stars 'n' Bars, Comes A Time, Hawks and Doves, and Re-Ac-Tor, and that was the time period that produced Rust Never Sleeps. Then came Trans, which I consider criminally underrated and unfairly slagged, especially in contrast to the rest of the Geffen output, but that's another story.

    More new Neil Young

I seem to remember one of the reviews of "Are You Passionate?" went along the lines of "it's not a Neil Young album unless you pick it up and think 'dear god, what's he done this time?'" We're hearing about ONE SONG. For all we know, he could scrap the whole session like he's done before and start again with something else in six months. Count me in as a fanboy if you will, but I'm familiar with what's he's been up to from '68 to now and trust me... ...how bad could it be?
