  1. "Blew your gimmick, mate!"
  2. Other than that, Arn WAS part of the gaggle of officials who separated JBL and Eddie Guerrero after their match at Judgment Day 2004.
  3. No one remembers there were only 7 people in the 1997 KOTR.
  4. These columns are from the now-defunct AlternativeWrestling.com.
  5. The music guy is either near the gorilla position OR someone at the gorilla position radios the music guy when someone is approaching the ramp.
  6. Ray Lewis vs. HHH?
  7. VISCERA~! Also, La Rez won't necessarily make it to the final match of TTT and get that title shot.
  8. It didn't die, it reached a logical conclusion at the Unforgiven PPV.
  9. That's a valid point, but justcoz does paint an interesting picture by comparing the WWE to the NFL. -Both see themselves as American institutions -Both have their own TV channel (WWE 24/7 is VOD, however) -Both frequently refer to their own histories -Both have rabid international followings
  10. I find it funny how the TV Title changed hands 5 times in 5 days in May '98. Booker and Benoit traded the title twice from May 1-4, then Booker lost it to Finlay on the May 5 Nitro.
  11. I'm conditioned to always say WWE unless quoting from, say, a promo. Yes, that means that according to me Bret Hart was a five-time WWE Champion.
  12. If the affiliate system justcoz suggested was implemented, there would be a greater # of available creative staff working in the indy affiliates.
  13. Wow, she looks like Satan.
  14. I, for one, am glad. Wonder how they'll pad out the rest of the hour?
  15. The angle actually started on the 9/13/99 RAW from Anaheim, CA (13 days before the PPV). There was a 5-way #1 contender's match between Rock/Kane/Taker/Big Show/Mankind that ended in a no-contest because all 5 guys beat down the entire officiating corps. Funny moment: Earl Hebner runs out as the last official, sees the carnage, then throws up his hands and walks away. Later in the night, the refs all ask Earl what they can do to stop this violence against refs. Earl himself got hit by Steve Austin during that night's main event and called for the DQ. The 9/16/99 SmackDown! (taped 9/14/99 in Las Vegas, NV) opened with a shot of the referees protesting outside the arena. This show (and the 9/20 and 9/23 TV shows, plus the 9/26/99 Unforgiven PPV) used the following scab referees: Sgt. Slaughter, Harvey Wippleman, Dr. Tom Prichard, and Steve Lombardi.
  16. Yeah, Duggan surprised me too with his good commentary.
  17. I don't see where this could hurt.
  18. Steve Lombardi looks good for his age.
  19. This can't go anywhere, since a) there's no way to legally verify one's sexuality, so how can you eliminate potential foster parents b) the government would be BREAKING UP FAMILIES, for God's sake. In the unlikely event this passes, it will be shot down in SECONDS by the courts.
  20. Morgan's got a hell of a finisher. Props to JBL for mentioning Team Angle.
  21. His entrance music should skip. EDIT: He's like the opposite of Eugene.
  22. He should come out with his custom KOTR title belt he had made when he was doing indies. Pic of belt
  23. He must have been on so many painkillers last night....
  24. Yeah, I think this was more of a "thank you" to Ratzinger than anything else; after all, he was JPII's right-hand man for many years. I think it's clear he's not expected to have a long reign. And yes, he was a member of the Hitler Youth: however, it wasn't exactly a voluntary decision to sign up. I'm told that the only alternative was death.
