  1. You just keep on thinking that. Once the season starts, Breezer always proves those opinions wrong.
  2. Why don't they just have Eddie show up on Smackdown, say that he lied when he said he wouldn't reveal the secret (because, you know, he lies, cheats and steals), and do it anyway? Rey gets pissed, challenges him to some kind of specialty match, and we're on for Summerslam.
  3. I got the impression that they're going to go with Batista/Undertaker at SS, but that they don't want a face vs. face matchup. Both did things after their matches that seemed heelish, so I'm thinking that they want to turn one of them, but can't decide, so they let the crowd reaction make the decision for them.
  4. Mikka Kiprusoff can go to hell and die. Besides, Luongo and Brodeur are a million times better than him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then shouldn't one of them have set the GAA record last season?
  5. Probably not since he should have won the Vezina trophy the last NHL season. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why, exactly? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I wouldn't mind hearing more about this, as Brodeur has clearly been the best goalie in the league since Roy retired. Luongo deserved it more than Belfour as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Forgive my blatant bias, but I think Miikka Kiprusoff also qualifies here.
  6. Chris Canadian Cool. Nothing beats that. This segment rocks. Jericho's just going nuts out there.
  7. Click How gullible would you have to be to buy into this stuff? A time-traveler from 2036. Right.
  8. Fox Sports says that the announcement will come tomorrow. How reliable are they?
  9. Well, they had to do SOMETHING to make up for two hours of nothing.
  10. I want a Hurri-Fire Extinguisher of my very own.
  11. Oh. geez. I, who has seen all the SP episodes, didn't pick that up. *headdesk*
  12. I was typing something up in Word, and accidentally hit something. This caused the program to skip two lines instead of one whenever I hit Enter. What did I press, and how can I undo it?
  13. "Napoleon Dynamite" was absolutely horrible. Bar none, the worst movie I have ever watched in my 18 years on this earth.
  14. The Canadian Press is reporting that a tentative deal will be announced within days. Take it for what it's worth, but I'm optimistic.
  15. I don't know if it's that clear. Honestly, the only letters the papers print and interviews the press will show are the ones who suck up to the Conservative philosophy. Anything else gets swiftly censored or berated publicly. Dr. David Swann (asshat as he is) is a fine example of that. And the Calgary Sun calls the Toronto Star "Canada's version of Pravda".
  16. As we all kind of figured would happen, the reaction from Alberta to the passing of the gay marriage bill is one of outrage. The papers have been filled with columns and letters that mainly repeat the same thing: the Liberals' contributions to the "moral bankruptcy" of Canada. These same letters laud our provincial government, and the federal Conservatives, for standing up to the government and showing Alberta's superior morality, in comparison to that of the East. Here's what bugs me about it: Alberta is in no way, shape or form morally superior to anybody due to our collective (at least, the ones they'll print) stance against the bill. Know why? Because the popular opinion here has nothing to do with what "we" think of homosexuals. The only reason that the majority of Albertans are against this bill is because the Liberals proposed it. We are, simply, a flock of sheep who will believe whatever someone wearing Tory blue tells us. If the Liberals opposed gay marriage, we'd be all for it out here, complaining that the government was withholding basic human rights from our same-sex brethren. It never changes. Albertans aren't the hayseed-chewing, cattle-raising, cousin-fucking rednecks we're made to look like: rather, we're simply mindless zombies, brainwashed by the Tories and the media into believing whatever they want us to. Actually, I'm not convinced that what we are is any better than what non-Albertans think we are. (Edit: Upon reading this, I think that someone may infer that I believe that homosexuality is morally wrong: this couldn't be further from the truth, in actuality. I am simply trying to point out that the ones who say so don't have the high ground that they think they do.)
  17. We'd rather stick with the fuck-ups we know, rather than give the power to the ones we don't. Canada's in a sorry state right now. The people know that we're gonna take it up the kazoo no matter who's in power.
  18. Once again, the media takes 20 seconds of a 15-minute interview, spin-doctors it into something sensational, and spews it out the other end to shock the world. Bullshit. Roenick said nothing wrong.
  19. I forgot. Didn't Harper and the Tories JUST team up with the Blocheads to try and take the government down? "Hello, Kettle? This is Pot. I just called to say you're black."
  20. They're saying now that Bettman, Goodenow et al are not present in the Hogtown meetings. It's mainly lawyers, Daly and Saskin. This indicates two things to me: 1) This thing is done, and they're just going through and "idiot-proofing" it, so to speak. 2) The lawyers are gonna extend the timeline as long as possible, because they get paid by the hour. Damn lawyers.
  21. Please remind me of why we're ashamed of Bryan Adams. I'm a big fan of his. Oh, and were I in Barrie, I'd SO be there.
  22. Well, the NBA had basically no major changes to make. The NHL had to completely demolish their entire economic system and start from scratch, not to mention the many changes they have to make on the ice. They're two completely different scenarios.
  23. Didja buy a program? If so, it may have been from me.
  24. Pretty much anyone the Flames drafted in the 1990s. Dan Tkaczuk, Rico Fata, Jesper Mattsson, Hnat Domenichelli, Niklas Sundblad... the list goes on. Near the top of that list, however, would probably be where you'd find Derek Morris. The guy was just hyped beyond belief here after a few good seasons, and then the development stopped. Calgary always thought he'd give us more.
  25. TSN.ca Article Apparently, they're actually (gasp!) making progress now. Could be seeing a new CBA sooner rather than later.
