  1. Vermette gets a penalty shot. This is undeniably their last chance.
  2. There's a tremendous difference between 5-starring and passing. Save your star power for the solo, and if you get another, use it on the very end of the song.
  3. Well, it doesn't matter what I think. Now that it's 5-2 Anaheim, Gary Bettman is going to starting blowing Arnold Schwarzenegger. I predict an "East", "Central", and "Just Watch Me" conference by 2020.
  4. Is it hypocritical of me to think that I would rather a team relocate than expanding or outright contracting?
  5. That's the seventh fucking broken stick this period by my count. I just got home from a 14-hour work day, but let me see if I get this straight (from what I've deduced from posts here and drunken text messages): Ottawa is being outplayed, but Phillips and Volchenkov both scored on Emery?

What's HD-DVD played in? 1080i? Also, my part-wrongedness wasn't a very good lead-in to this: I got the aforementioned job. Min wage plus commission.
  7. That's what I thought it was, too. Apparently, it's actually Rosie/Saddam Hussein. Really? My explanation of this is going to suck...Wasn't it that terrorist that got caught?
  8. I've pretty well five-starred everything on the first four tiers, except for Woman. And it's not like I'm incapable of succesful HO/PO's

Yes and no. While little is actually broadcast in 1080p at the moment, it certainly couldn't hurt, especially with the investment laid forth into a 40" tv. It's tough to envision so little being broadcast in 1080p, say, six, seven, ten years from now.
  10. They are indeed funny. I would have posted them in the WWE folder otherwise. Alas, it's a pic of Flair coming to the ring, with a guy front row holding a sign that says 'Smart Marks Hate Cena'
  11. Please, no nudes or fat chicks Luke-O, your thoughts? Actually, they're from the Raw I went to this past Monday.
  12. A double post. That's pretty ironic given the post's context, isn't it?
  13. Then yes, thay does sound fucking stellar. And while it's hardly revolutionary, I've been using parmesean cheese on an awful lot of foods lately.
  14. Anyone have suggestions for pics I have taken myself? I wasn't allowed to upload on here from either Photobucket or Facebook.
  15. I'd also like to know this, as everything said from "I've had pizzas" onward is absolute truth.

I've got a job interview this afternoon at a Mom n Pop electronics store, specializing in car audio and TV. While I would receive product training, I just wanted to thank everyone, Mole, Marvin, and Rant in particular, for how helpful they've been and how many things they've helped clear up for me. It's given me a little extra boost of confidence going into this job, which would mean an end to my 70-hour work weeks if I get it. Stephen Joseph is seldom seen around here anymore, but I also owe him an indirect monster debt of gratitude for linking me to howstuffworks.com Hell, even if I don't get it, as I'm sure you all know, we receive no product training at Wal-Mart, so getting help and answers to FAQ's proactively as opposed to retroactively as helped me out a tremendous deal, and without being too arrogant, clearly gave me a reputation as the most knowledgable in my department. Genuinely, genuinely appreciated.
  17. Anyone else ever wonder why no one mentions Quebec City?
  18. Yes and no, Czech. As it said in a satirical book about Canadian that Baron and I once read "Hamilton...not nearly as bad a place as you probably think". It's still got a stigma (rightfully) of being dirty and rundown, but it is an industrial town. On the other hand, it's one of Canada's biggest cities, which means a lot of diversity, different cultural appeal. It's hosted the World Cycling Championships, Grey Cup, Brier, Bell Canadian Open, and recently, was the runner-up in a bid to host the Commonwealth Games. My dad lives in Hamilton and has since 2001ish. Since moving there, he says he's seen remarkable progress as far as construction and new business go, in addition to general efforts to improve the city's image. And, if I can be a little boastful for a moment, it's also home to one of Canada's biggest universities, featuring a premier medical programme, which my mother just graduated from. Two Canadian teams make big offers today, with Mats Sundin and Sheldon Souray both being offered contracts.
  19. It makes more sense than K-W, at least. More than Winnipeg, too, really -- they already have an NHL-ready arena, at least as far as capacity goes, and a much larger potential population base. I wasn't so surprised by the logistics of Hamilton, it was more of a surprise to see his choice of city to offer. I would have thought, consequences be damned, he'd call KW.
  20. Hamilton? The fuck?
  21. I still think an upconverting DVD player is the way to go for now, and forseeably for two or three years still. Since they can pretty well be picked up for $100 or less, that's not really a wasted investment.
  22. When I was six years old, I lived down the street from my friend Graham Penny, who had a staggering amount of NES games (and quite frankly, an amount that would probably make me sick if I saw a six-year-old with as many games today). His parent's licence plate was NES*465. For about a year, I thought that it was done on purpose by the Licence Bureau. It had never occured to me that it was just a coincidence.

We're in the midst of clearing out our old TV's and bringing new ones in, but they layout of TV size and models, etc., has drastically changed. As such, only one of the 15 or 20 HD models we carry is running in HD, everything else is just running off coax. I've been bitching for a week over it (it'll likely be a month before the guys from Bell come to rewire everything) but I still have had to explain to several customers now that what they're watching isn't really HD, and the picture they receive from home is going to be MUCH better. I hope I don't sound too cynical, I mean, I could likely say something equally silly if I were an ignorant customer in, say, a florist. It's just surprising to me how willing people have been and are to fork over several hundred dollars, or even four figures, without knowing too much about what they're getting into.
