  1. It makes sense, I guess....Not even counting the overwhelming price difference, the press buzz over the lack of PS3's available seemed to sour a lot of people. Meanwhile, with the Wii being launched two days later under the radar, it's a fair question to ask as a consumer.....
  2. It would work alright if they didn't allow 140 players into the FedEx Cup and allowed 125 to keep their cards. It won't be all bad, I suppose, as guys like, say, Villegas or Palmer or Moore, rising stars who will wind up 50th or 60th or 70th will give some credibility to the fall tournaments.
  3. Consider it Found...And damn good Stone Cold vs. Rock Main Event Promo WrestleMania X-7 Yes to HTQ....and the history of the WWF is likely a tough find now, but it was available in the spring before the Great YouTube Sweep.
  4. Yes, and absolutely yes. I'm still getting (at the Wal*Mart I work at) anywhere from 5-15 calls a day re: the Wii. Meanwhile, we quietly got 16 PS3's in between three shipments, anywhere from the 27th of December to the third of January. Not one has sold. I even made the following page twice to the entire store, and no one said anything more than "Oh, you actually have PS3's in stock? Hmm." "Good afternoon customers. Looking for a way to redeem the Walmart Gift Card you received for Christmas/entertain this New Year's Eve? Come check out the the all-new PS3, now in stock in your Electronics Coalition of Wal*mart. Featuring your choice of 20 or 60 gig hard drives, plenty of space for all your favourite games, photos and music. It also has not one, not two, not three but four USB ports to connect your wireless controllers to, as well as your MP3 player or digital camera. And the revolutionary Blu-Ray player is included, meaning you can watch your favourite movies in stunning clarity. Add it all up, and you've got an unparalleled gaming experience. So you gotta walk that aisle and check out the hottest new item in Wal*Mart today." If anyone's seen Ric Flair Can Dance All Night Long on Youtube, I essentially ripped that off for the above page, thus the three or four lies (well, stretched truth) in my page.
  5. Four.
  6. Learn more about why I hate Cena here
  7. Are they really going to go with this? Probably. They wanted Big Show so Hogan could have a 20th anniversary nostalgia match but Show is still in bad shape so they need another giant. And Khali is it. What about Umaga, who was conspiculously absent from that list?
  8. Singh wins by a few. Of note: -Appleby does not join Hagen and Woods as winners of an event four straight years. -Singh earns his 30th career win. -Singh takes control of the record of "most wins by a player over 40", then tells the media "anyone who says 40 is old can go to hell"
  9. ^ Can you elabourate on the Flair thing in your first line? I never saw him as being self-centred, but you do more know than I.
  10. I VIVIDLY remember telling a buddy of mine in 1999(at the near-height of our markdom), that while Stone Cold often was the man standing at the end of the smoke clearing, the Rock seemed to fall a lot. That makes even more sense nine years later that we're both smart.
  11. Who gave without taking the most? A combination of youtube clips featuring McMahon's arrogance, Austin leaving, and Foley/Dreamer promos got me thinking on this: Flair? Foley? Dreamer? Who gave the most to the business and asked for the least in return?
  12. I can't be the only one who thinks Batista-Taker would be boring as fuck. Finlay would turn heads and get people talking. And fuck, he's given plenty to the business. (See my thread in general wrestling).
  13. As I mentioned during the Raw thread this week(though I'm certainly gonna understand if no one remembered it), I'm going to the theatre with a few buddies to watch tonight's show. We are all Umaga marks. They want me to be drunk. They want me to make six year olds cry. They're going to be disappointed. Cena wins. Hardy wins. DX wins. Cryme Time skit. Carlito wins(but no one will care). Mickie James will win, I'll dry-hump the 50 ft. theatre screen. DX has a long intro. I demand a refund from the theatre manager.
  14. Anyone remember that SouthPark where they called Romania the asshole of the world?
  15. My boy Savard scores twice and is in on the other two goals, scored by Boyes and (????). B's win 4-3. I was only half-heartedly listening, but I thought I heard Scott Oake say that both Chara and Bergeron weren't playing? The Rangers beat a flu-stricken Montreal 4-3 in La Belle Province. I realize there's 40 games to play still, but that could be a huge win three weeks from now when trade talks heat up, as today's victory puts them in sole fifth, five back of the fourth place Habs, instead of what would have been nine. This not only keeps home ice advantage in reach, it gives them breathing room from the handful of teams still in contention. Don't forget that one week ago, this was a team facing a seven game losing streak and was out of the top eight.

    HDTV

Whyaren't we seeing more HDMI-ready DVD players instead of being told to prepare for the war between Blu-Ray and HD DVD? I realise the two latter can run at 1080p....stop me if I'm wrong, but won't HDMI run at the same compatability as the set it's playing on?
  17. Going into today they outscored opponents 20-3 in this year's tourney.
  18. I'd argue it's added to the status. Round fucking seven. Jonathon Toews will shoot again for Canada. He's 2 for 2 so far. THREE FOR THREE! EDIT: Save by Price! Gold medal game, here we come! WHOOOO!
  19. No worries. Canada just played ridiculously gusty for two minutes, killing a four-on-three. Perrott was on the ice the entire penalty kill, as only once did the puck get cleared out of Canadian territory, and even that was just beyond the blueline. Price made what seemed like ten saves during that two minute span. Good Lord, they're going to a shoot-out.
  20. Fuck, as tense as I was for the last 120 minutes, OT is gonna kill me. My lunch date just called, she's running late at least an hour
  21. Here's three things to make you think: 1) Lemieux is meeting today with reps from Kansas City 2) Ottawa has traded for Mike Comrie 3) US leads Canada 1-0 late in the the second. Canada is 0-5 on the pp thus far. EDIT: 0-6. Only five shots on those six chances. Frazee is starting to look really good as Canada turns the heat up here in the third, but no two ways about it, the story of the game thus far has been how few quality chances the States have allowed.
  22. Maybe Bertuzzi can borrow some from him to balance out our bold picks.
  23. I'm still mad at him for costing me close to $300,000 of fantasy in the 2000 British. Even though Tiger was running away with it on the back nine, his refusal to pitch out 180 degrees behind him from a bunker meant double bogey, and ultimately the wheels came off. That was the difference between second and eighth. Nonetheless, I'll try him again, along with Daly, Stadler and Wagner(It turns out my original team budget, with Els, was about $400,000 over the cap). It's a season-long pool, based on how much money they made last year. I opted to pull Els out for Holmes and Matteson, as I like to get as many guys playing in the Free Money Ope...er, Mercedes Championships.
  24. Sorry to turn this into fantasy golf, but I'm torn between a few guys in my pool. All Nationwide grads and players who finished below 125 on last year's money list automatically cost $150,000. Nationwide leader Johnson Wagner is a lock, but I don't know who to take among the other lummies. I have room under my salary cap for two of John Daly, Brad Faxon, David Duval and Nick Price. Anyone with offers?
  25. Canucks have won four straight(all against NW rivals, mind you) with last night's 3-2 win over Calgary. Within a week, we've seen three division leaders in the NorthWest. Crosby's also the first to 60 points, netting two goals in a 3-0 win. He's also four goals off the Richard race, behind the 25 currently posted by Ovechkin and St. Louis.
