Interesting true-but-not-so-strange story: In 2004/2005, a couple of my buddies and I had an online hockey league in ESPN 2K5, among them Baron. Our buddy Kevin, who's a Habs fan to some degree but is a huge poseur, decided that, after playing the exact same strategy for 40 minutes of a game, that Jose Theodore was at fault for his being down 6-0. So, he put Huet in net. And lost 7-2. So, Kevin decided to play Huet the next four games, all of which he won(he was the best team in the league to begin with, somehow). When we told him "It's not your goaltending, it's your strategy" he said "NO! HUET > THEODORE!" Also in the same department. The two worst teams in the league were Me(Edmonton) and a friend of a friend (Carolina). Oh, how times change indirectly.

So what would happen were I to put an HD DVD in a standard or HDMI DVD? Would it simply not read?

I'd love to see Savard back in Calgary, and it's a lot more reasonable now that Calgary's a little more stable financially. Carter's a UFA, if I'm not mistaken.

This is an absolute win for Vancouver. A bit of a headache is solved with Big Bert gone, about 2 mil in salary is cleared from Bert's monster paycheque. They can shop for a good power forward to replace him with they money the save. Krajciek is about equal to Allen IMO, so maybe pick up a prospect. Use the saved money to get a good power forward. Another question about HD-DVD/HDMI? Now, about a week ago, we started carrying HD DVD's. Our department manager Kenny wrote down in our communication book "These will not play on a traditional DVD, only a HD DVD player, which we do not have!" On last night's truck was a new model HDMI input DVD. I asked Dan, the guy I was working with,what would happen if I put one of the aforementioned HD DVD's in this new RCA HDMI DVD player. He assured me it would work. Now, I tried to explain that HD DVD players and HDMI were not the same, that HDMI converted a NTSC DVD. He said it didn't make a difference. Is that true? I maintained it wasn't, that the two machines were different. Dan still said that the HD DVD would work in an HDMI DVD player, but, and I don't want to slander him to badly in case he was right, but he didn't seem to know what he was talking about, basically being a yes man. Another variable in Dan's favour, is that we've actually had one model of HDMI for a while now, a Samsung. But we have not sold ONE in the year we've had it. Is it possible Dan was right, and Kenny said we didn't have them because he wasn't aware of the Samsung? So, what happens if I load an HD DVD into an HDMI? Will it upconvert somehow? Not read the disc altogether? Some third thing? Acronym count:25

Ken Jennings actually did an interview for Golf Digest (more on that later) where he said he did everything he could to use "Not a fan of the ladies, are you Trebek?" but it never came up. Anyone notice every time he's on a talkshow or what have you now, he loses an impromptu game? This happened on CBC's The Hour, where he and a buddy of host George Strombolopolous played, with roughly half the questions/answers involving skin bars. Golf Digest used to have a feature where they would ask two golf-related people the same ten questions, usually general trivia about say, the college a player went to, the home country, tidbits about their favourite players growin up, etc. Phil Mickelson actually beat Jennings 6-5. If I'm not mistaken, the answer that clinched it for Phil was "Who is Phil Mickelson?"
