I'm pretty underwhelmed with your cuts, Czech. -
Go on.

You drink more than me, or at least, make more ostentacious posts here when drunk. I kinda feel my territory's been stolen. I at least gave you a nod. -
So yeah, I'm back to plain mozza. Nothing else has changed.

Aaaaand finally, is there a list of past brackets, or winners? -

I'm losing sleep over my not, at the very least, mentioning Treble, Venkman, King, Koab, KKK, Kriese, and Rant. It's also at least a little ridiculous that I didn't give LaParkaMarka a nod; he's in my sig, for Christ's sake. He's effectively the Slovakia to my Czech Republic. Is Hoff eligible? How often does he take these breaks? Wasn't he back for a cup of coffee last weekend? -
Did they sing "Ooooooooooooooooooooh, it's kinda crazy?"

Remember when Bob Barron called Bobby Clarke the least sympathetic figure in hockey? I agree.

Tenth Baron? You fuckhead. Turnabout is now fair play. I should point out I initially was going to put the first ten posters that came to mind: Czech BL Slayer CanadianChris Milky Vitamin X Matt Young King Kamala Classic Anti Leaf Snoopy15. (GET IT!? Opposite? Shut up.) -
We should have a gimmick posters tourney as well. Maybe an eight-bracket thing, a pre-game if you will. Fuck qualifiers. And what's this with the non-forum-based seedings last year? I say pshaw to that. Pshaw, I say. If I can't have a first-round Marvin cakewalk again, I've lost interest.

Match the tv's native resolution as often as possible. With a native res of 720p, but a broadcast of 1080i, the signal is being stretched out to fill the 1080 lines.

If it's of comfort, Czech, EA Sports' NHL '08 did present a fine game of hockey this evening in La Belle Province.

I'm going to comandeer that, but as to not steal the thunder of the roll Al is on, I'll do hockey in here. I'll start with the Forum: 1) Closing night: March 11, 1996. A 4-1 win over Dallas is the final game ever at the Forum, but an unbelievable tribute and torch-passing by all Habs captains, including an insane ovation for Rocket Richard are what I really would have liked to have seen. 2) Game 5: June 9, 1993. I could have said any of a number of the Habs playoff games that year, but the final cup of 23 won here gets the nod. 3) Rendezvous: New Year's Eve 1975. The Habs tie the Central Red Army 3-3, in which the Soviet guests are outshot 38-13. 4) Boston Penalty: May 10, 1979 (Sorry, Max). Don Cherry's Bruins incur a too-many-men penalty with a 4-3 lead late. Larry Robinson ties it, and the Habs go on to eliminate the Bruins to go on to the finals, where they would defeat the Rangers in 5. 5) Summit Series Game 1: September 2, 1972. Canada opens with two goals early, every Canadian watching brags. The Soviets would fight back, and go on to win 7-3. I'm pretty drunk, but I think all my dates are accurate, save #3. I'd also like to seen George Chuvalo fight Muhammad Ali in 1966, and macabre as this sounds, I think Howie Morenz' funeral (also March 11, 1937) would have been unreal.

Yes, centred around my 'big game' argument earlier. Additionally, as you mentioned, they're in a playoff spot, which, knock wood, means they're buyers in five or six weeks. Huet is a UFA, and they don't need any sexy deals on deadline day - showcase him now and get some grit, or, as you also mentioned, a face-off guy, as opposed to nothing for him on Canada Day. Czech, I too joined the TSN broadcast late, but I didn't know of any reason apart from it being two Original Six teams.
-
I think they're trying to showcase Huet; they get to do that by sending Price to the minors, while allowing Price to not incur any rust. At least that's how I see it. It's not like Huet is a bad goaltender or anything. After all the time I spent campaigning against Price being the #1 guy (or more accurately, for Huet), I'm on board with Price now. That said, if my above theory is true, this is the right move for now. Huet is not an overpaid goalie (a modest $2.5ish salary). That shouldn't be too tough to move, especially if it's for a little grit or leadership. The key is going to be if they can find a rabbit to bite at the carrot that's being dangled; as such, he needs to shine - there's no doubt that come October, Price will be the starter in Montreal, and with his credentials already (Junior gold and Calder Cup), I don't see his lack of big-game NHL experience being an issue.

Ray Emery and Brian McGrattan dusted knuckles during practise Monday. I know this type of thing isn't unheard of, but how close is Emery's ticket to being punched from Ottawa? Although there's going to be a bit of a surplus of goalies on the market this trade deadline, with Huet, Raycroft, Turco, and even Cujo as potential names.

Discussed on the Reporters yesterday morning: Who's the most deserving of the Hart so far? Iginla, Crosby, and Lecavalier were the names thrown out. At this point, I'll say Iggy hands down. I have no problem with Lecavalier getting the Pearson, but the way Iginla has elevated Huselius, Langkow, and, to a lesser extent, Aucoin and Nolan clearly shows his worth, especially with Kiprusoff underachieving.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
CanadianGuitarist replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
While Benoit is not listed on wwe.com's Royal Rumble Winners page (it skips straight from 2003 to 2005), he is listed on the Rumble Facts and Figures page as having spent the second-most time in a Rumble behind Mysterio. I found that interesting. -
Hey, me too!
-
That's fucking ridiculous, but I'm sure they had lawyers knocking their door down over the slightest mention of suing Microsoft.
-
Three things: The Jesus doll - Even for me, that's pretty offensive. The fisting - Am I missing something? That was pretty run-of-the-mill, at least as far as fistings go, wasn't it? The basketball - Either Maxim or Stuff did a feature about 7 years ago on the 20 grossest sports injuries ever, there was a rubgy one almost identical to the basketball one.

A 'bruised spinal cord' sounds awfully fucking painful.

One Game You Wish You Could Have Seen
CanadianGuitarist replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in Sports
I'm going to assume the 'live' eliminates the 1987 Canada Cup final, as I would have been 3. It was, however, in my home town. I'll give the nod to Sunday at the 2003 or 2004 Masters tournament. 2003 because of patriotic reasons, 2004 because Mickelson's first major was remniscent of the BoSox winning the World Series six months later, or Chris Benoit's title win two weeks prior (though that one's been swept under the rug). Augusta really is a sort of mecca of golf..it's kind of tough to explain if you're not into golf. Even though Weir's Masters win is a notch higher on my all-time list, had the Canadian hockey teams won double gold on native soil in 2002, that would have been my answer. Edit: I just re-read Al's first statement, but I'm still gonna go with my Masters statements. -

Since I didn't see a CWDWAT in Tv/Movies: I love my job at Wal*Mart. I also love the bulk of our customers, despite my bitching in the occasional retail thread that pops up. However, I do not, have not, nor will I ever, follow home, a customer in disbelief about the bargains they've just encountered.
