Michaels needs elevating?
-
Michaels can survive the loss, without any effects. If need be, he can come on Raw the next night and beat someone to get his heat back, not that he'll need to. With Hogan, his losses have to be very carefully picked, and this should not be one of them. People will remember this match for a long time, in the same way that people still remember and talk about Hogan v Rock from WM XVIII, because of who is involved. That means they will remember everything that happened, right down to the finishing sequence, the crowd reactions, and what happens afterwards. That alone means Hogan has to win to build towards the Austin v Hogan match they are eyeing up, because it can't be blemished with the memory of a high profile Hogan loss.

After last Monday's skit, I'd say Shawn was the babyface more than Hogan.

HHH and Ric Flair's return date to TV announced
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to algrim's topic in The WWE Folder
Don't forget to add on the almost 2 years from before his quad injury. -
I think the opposite will more likely happen, and Shawn will try and do to Hogan what Hogan did to Warrior and Rock; lose the match, but steal all the heat and attention.
-
He got a little heat with his woman bashing gimmick in 1999, but you could have put anyone in that role, as the fanbase was going to get into that thing no matter who was behind it. He certainly wasn't very over, and he still isn't.

Undertaker threatening HBK at WM 14
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to UZI Suicide's topic in General Wrestling
I know, but given that the interview was in 2002 and Taker has no reason to mention it unless it was true, then it's probably is. Dave Meltzer is considered the best source for wrestling information. So if he has said it several times, Taker has said it and HBK's never denied it- then I think you can probably take it to the bank. I watch OTR when they have wrestlers on and for the most part there is little kayfabing from what I've noticed. Taker and Dave Meltzer have no reason to lie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I dont think Taker just blurted it out. I think Lansberg said it, then Taker admitted to the confrontation. But he didnt outright say what Metz said and it was made to sound like a work-shoot storyline to me. Metz is the best source, but that dosnt mean he is perfect. I just dont buy it man, and I havnt bought stuff Metz has said before. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well you're a fucking idiot. That I can buy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You'd love CarnivalizComing then. He's just as bad as Rrrsh, except his blind worship is of Jeff Jarrett. -
That is the big match they are wanting to do, so Hogan should win. And he will win. Shawn doesn't need to win, because he can stay over no matter what, so he isn't going to.

You would think more so-called 'smart' fans would get that. -

Maybe you don't hear the fans go nuts for him. Or see them buy his merch. Or read reports that he's generally the most over guy on house shows, and if he doesn't appear, people are annoyed, which doesn't usually happen with anyone else. Maybe you're also ignoring the fact that the fans don't care that he's not that good, which is a great sign of someone being over if the fans are willing to overlook his shortcomings. Or we could throw all that out, and just assume you're an idiot. -

Don't forget the Masterlock you love so much. Someone has to break that, and if they stretch it out long enough..... -

He can then lay claim to having played a part in any ratings jump. Of course, if ratings don't go up, or even fall, they'll use the same excuse they used when ratings dipped a little when they moved from USA to TNN/Spike, and say that fans didn't know where to tune in. Yes he shouldn't, and yes it does. However, neither is likely to happen. Yes, because it makes so much sense to go with a guy who is stale and played out rather than a guy who is fresh, and that the people are so crazy for that they are willing to overlook his flaws. Yes, it really is pathetic that fans go crazy for the guy, buy his merchandise, go to house shows to see him, and love the guy despite his flaws. -
No plans for Razor to get the big belt.

Ventura started slipping shortly after entering WCW, and by the end of 1992 he was parody of himself. Listening to Ventura was excruciating post-1992. I'd rather never have to listen to the guy commentating again.

Tazz was using barbed wire, though it might have been rubber. The long shot was because TNN people were there, and they didn't want anything that graphic, and ECW were wanting to play safe as they were finalizing the deal to go to TNN. No, Awesome didn't actually knock her teeth out. They were false teeth, and it was a blood capsule. Still a great angle, though.

If you are a groups world champion and you want to leave, you don't sneak out in the middle of the night and don't tell anyone that you're going to one of the two national promotions. Awesome deserves everything he gets for not doing business the right way on his way out.

Jeff Hardy coming back; plus Internet DREAM match
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Astro101's topic in TNA Wrestling
Whoever it winds up being, I don't think they should win. They are building Daniels up for someone to beat for the X Division title, so that should be how he suffers his first big singles loss, and not losing to some outsider who, if this really is legit, might not even want to stick around for long. -
HTQ on Day Two of the G1 Climax Tournament
Hunter's Torn Quad commented on a blog entry in Straight Shooting
How much do you wanna bet that Nishimura beats Tenzan after a fluke rollup? Here's who I like tomorrow - Goto, Nakanishi, Nishimura, Nagata, Fujita, Kawada, Chono-Suzuki draw, Tanahashi. If Tenzan loses, I expect him to win out the rest of the way. I don't expect Kawada to lose a match, but I think a draw against Chono is a possibility. I believe Tanahashi will win out the rest of the way as well, regardless of what happens tomorrow. Assuming they're going to do the 8-man playoff format, I'd expect Kawada/Tenzan/Suzuki/Nagata, in that order, to advance from pool A, while Fujita/Tanahashi/Nakamura/Nakanishi, in that order advance from B. I'm hoping it all leads up to a Tanahashi-Fujita finals, with Tanahashi getting a win against Kawada and then taking the finals. It's time to start building Tanahashi to the moon. I think they might do with Kawada the same thing they did with Akiyama in 2003, which means he'll draw with Chono, and lose to someone, maybe Nagata. Hopefully, they won't, because Kawada means more than Akiyama did, and the only non-win Kawada suffers is a draw with someone, if that much. I think the finals will wind up with Tanahashi or Nakamura against Fujita, with Fujita losing to set up a big IWGP title match. Of the two, I think it more likely Nakamura will be the winner, and he'll wind up beating Fujita somewhere down the line. -

I believe Liger turned it down because TNA wanted to bring him in just for an X-Division Battle Royal and he would get tossed out, and also because TNA wanted Liger to pay his own trans. -
I see Bret agreeing to do the HOF, and that's it. I don't see him doing any kind of angle with Shawn.
-
Can you keep to trolling just WC?
-
I think Bret just wanted to be able to give his side of Montreal. All we've ever heard about it on WWE tv is the Vince version of what happened. Bret just wanted to be able to give his side of things on a WWE forum.
-
Which would be incredibly stupid and pointless.
-
Too many neck surgeries. WWE decided to tone down on the moves that could cause them, and limit them to certain situations.
-
Hate usually fades over time. Not to mention that Bret realised that it really is pointless holding onto that kind of rage for so long. If Bret and Vince really have made amends, even if is just for a business project, then that's a good thing. Both men have made it clear how they feel in regard to what has gone down between them, they've talked things over, and have at least come to an agreement on how to handle Montreal, at least as part of the DVD project.
