Thats what I'm thinking, Carn. The iron is kind of hot right now for Christian. Now, he's not white hot or anything, I just think right now is the time to try Christian out as champ and see if he has any kind of drawing power. Christian hasn't been put in this kind of position ever and it may be fresh enough to get a buzz going.

One thing that needs to happen is getting the title off of Jarrett this upcoming weekend and making sure the title is still on Christian by the time the Thursday slot comes up. Christian needs to hold onto the title for at least 5-6 months. If TNA is pushing that "changing the face of professional wrestling" tagline, then they need to really do it and Christian is the guy to do it with. I don't think Sting should hold the title. He should be a featured attraction, but I think his overness will end sooner than later.

Jericho, even if it were for a non in ring appearance and just a promo, would garner a ton of attention and send folks home happy. That said, it's probrably Regal, Gibson, or long shot, Foley.

He entertains me. Nuff said.

Julius Smokes vs. Scott D'amore in the battle of dog-barking. Julius Smokes wins, hands down. Smokes needs to be on TNA TV, now.

I like this bit I took from Pat McNeill of the Torch site regarding ROH and the departures...

Personally, I think LaMarcus Aldridge will be a better player than Curry, but that's just me.

Didn't Atlanta also get the expiring contract of Terrell Brandon a couple years ago? Damn shame what happened to Terrell Brandon. He was just about the best 5'10 player this side of Damon Stoudamire.

The Knicks end up paying out of the nose in the form of a luxury tax hit. That effects the busines portion of the Knicks because all their revenue would go to paying the luxury tax. Some teams (think Lakers) or owners (think Mark Cuban or the Maloofs) can absorb a decent cap hit for a year or two, but after awhile they start scaling back because they are now not making any money. Take the Lakers for example. They could go out and spend a shitload of money to get the help Kobe needs. Thing is, they are already $30 million over the salary cap and it'll keep growing as players contracts start to balloon in their later years (Kobe, Odom) Jerry Buss has already taken a decent luxury tax hit with the Payton/Malone debacle and isn't looking to do it again for awhile. Or until public pressure from season ticket holders and fans start to get to management about how come the Lakers aren't contending for a championship. What do you do? Do you cave in and go over the salary cap to get to that championship level? Or do you try to build something out of what you got and hope guys like Vujicic and Bynum start to pay off while not killing you with salary?

Last I checked, the Knicks were close to $100 million over the cap. The next closest to the Knicks was the Mavs at over $60 million.
-
The Knicks are so far over the cap, $10-12 million off this year isn't going to help any. Jalen for Antonio is a wash. Why Toronto parted with a 1st rounder is puzzling. The report doesn't specify if the 1st round pick is this year or later. If it's this year, the Knicks win because it'll be a lottery pick for sure.

In other news, the Knicks aquire Jalen Rose and 1st Round pick for Antonio Davis... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2317958

I can't wait for the tall tales Hogan will be telling in the feature. That and AWA revisionist history 101. "Tatsumi Fujinami tried to shoot on me and break my leg! Swear." Sarcasm aside, the rest of the discs I'll pick up. I just refuse to give the Hogan DVD any of my time or money since it'll be filled with lies...er...exaggerations and I can't stand WWE revisionist stuff.

Yep, it's getting a big head before you get big. If that's the case. For all we know, he could be owed money or upped his price and Gabe didn't cave in.
-
Top 3 reasons for this latest development.. 1) Money. He is either owed money or tried to hold up Gabe after subbing for Joe this last weekend. 2) Didn't want to job. This could be because he jobbed against the NOAH guys in the fall plus filled in for Joe when they needed him and felt like he shouldn't job versus Strong. This is the shittiest of the reasons. 3) It's a work to get more believability and mileage in the ROH vs CZW feud. Which one do you all think it is?

I remember in 1990, AC Green was voted to start in the All Star game at PF over Karl Malone and AC Green had no business in the All Star game, period. Karl's response was scoring 61 points in just 30 minutes of play against Milwaukee. Yikes.
-
There is speculation this is a work and Ki will side with CZW in their little interpromotional feud. Because of how Ki has done business in the past, I wouldn't put it past him to walk out again, however, I wouldn't put it past Gabe and Co. to try to work ROH fans either.

Michael Cole & Tazz Get Radio Show On Sirius

It's already a failure because it's saying Michael Cole is going to be doing comedy. -
Actually, it did work. They brought in Hogan and Savage and business did ok. Then Hall and Nash were brought in with a great NWO angle and business really took off. Where WCW screwed up was when Hall, Nash, Hogan, etc. were starting to get stale, they failed to elevate anyone new. The whole landscape for pro wrestling was much different then than it is now, so WCW may not be the best example. However, you do have a point in that bringing in old stars usually doesn't work. TNA would be much better off creating some stars because bringing in the old guard with this booking committee isn't going to work.
-
To me, they (the bookers) have to decide on someone like Sabin or even Lynn and decide that is who is going to unseat Joe. Then they should book backwards as to how whoever is annointed the Joe-beater is going to get to that point. I don't think that is too hard. A key for the big picture is once Joe is removed as X champ, he needs to get into the heavyweight picture and start the chase for the heavyweight crown. Again, it's good in theory, but I dont' know if TNA has the moxy to pull it off.

Using Eddie's death in storylines - So, are all of you finally aga
Dangerous A replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
I think we have the plot for the next WWE Films production. Will Rey utter the phrase "you complete me"? Because if not, the movie would suck. I would prefer Rey to copy something a little more current and more appropriate to WWE and how they are handling this Eddie thing... "Why can't I quit you?" -
Ain't that the fucking truth. While I'm not all that familiar with Rorion, Royce and Rickson are basically MMA divas. Not sure if that comes from Helio or what.

Hey, my post was a minute before yours. Mods, we need consolidation!

From the reports on various sites and what I gather, TNA wants head to head on monday while Spike is leaning towards a tandem with UFC on thursday. As long as they get out of the graveyard shift on saturday night, this is still a victory for TNA.

You absolutely have to somehow fit in Bone Thugs N Harmony's "Tha Crossroads" for a theme song or music video.
