Saw it, liked it, wasn't knocked back by it like the last few PRIDEs that I've seen. Hunt/Cro Cop had some sick moments in it.

The Serenity movie thread
RavishingRickRudo replied to The Ghost of bps21's topic in Television & Film
Yeah, the DVD needed Fillion and Joss on commentary. I didn't enjoy Josses commentary nearly as much as I have on other things, and I think a suitable drinking game would be 1 shot every time Joss talks about how they didn't have enough money. "He is our friend, we should honour him" and Jewel breaking down laughing were highlights of the awesome gagreel. -
Kurt Angle vs. Christopher Daniels
RavishingRickRudo replied to Corey_Lazarus's topic in The WWE Folder
4) On the amateur wrestling arguement...does Dan Severn count on the 'terrible' list? What does Angle even bring from amateur wrestling anyway? The pointless body-scissors rest-hold? I dunno if you're talking about a terrible amateur wrestler in general, or a terrible job translating amateur wrestling in pro wrestling, but Dan Severn kicked ass in UWF-i. Angle couldn't touch that stuff. And Severn is one of the most decorated wrestlers I've heard of, the dude was legit. -

You know, it really fucking sucks that you're stealing heat away from me. I just had to say that. Once upon a time, some in the WWE folder were called RRR Clones and yes-men as erroneously as people -INCLUDING ME!!!- are being called HTQ yes-men. This is so very wrong. People used to be willing to have themselves banned if it meant I would be banned as well. THAT'S HATRED! I put in more time here, dammit! I have tenure! I deserve that heat! BAH!!!

Well, look at it this way - they're giving GSP/BJ more exposure by putting it on SPIKE (if it turns out to be true). They probably don't see that match as the money match, they see Hughes vs. Winner as the money match. -
I was told by a high-ranked cable executive that the flowerpot in question bought 13 PPVs in 2004. God you can be silly sometimes. As if a flowerpot would spent its hard-earned money on WWE PPVs.
-
Of course, the fact that the WWE books their title(s) better than WCW doesn't necessarily mean that I care about it or who holds it more.
-
Oh man, the WCW title must've changed at least 20 times in 2000. And about 90% of that was in the first 6 months.

BJ Penn Interview: “There’s a bunch of fights we want to do,” he said excitedly. “We’ll do two for sure. I’m training for an April fight with Georges St. Pierre. I think it will be on one of the Ultimate Fight Nights [on Spike TV]. If I beat Georges and I beat Hughes again, then I want to move up to middleweight and fight [reigning UFC 185-pound champion] Rich Franklin. I talked with the UFC. Everyone thinks it’s a good idea. Now, it’s just up to me to do it.” -
See, Orton broke the metaphorical flowerpot that was the connection between the fans and the WWE. Jesus fucking christ, both are issues of professionalism and the lack thereof and the WWE's treatment of both. If you can't see that connection I am amazed you know the connection between the power button and how it turns on your computer. Orton could be found covered in blood with a dead hooker in the other room and if the WWE was pushing him there wouldn't be any effect to his career. Meanwhile, if someone they aren't concerned about pushing steps on an ant, they'd find cause for dismissal. That this incident had a direct impact on the fans would be of a certain amount of concern because it reflects how the WWE sees YOU. This just reinforces the notion that they don't give a fuck about their fans, as if watching their television wasn't enough of an indicator. But hey, "Eddie did worse!" so whatever. As if that's a reasonable response.
-
Remember when they fired Rhyno for breaking a flower pot? This is where the WWE's priorities lie, disrespecting a flower pot is more taboo than disrespecting the consumer.
-
Wait... That isn't his line of work right now?

See, WCW was like Homer Simpson from Seasons 2-7. In other words, they were lovably dumb. WWE is like Homer Simpson Seasons 8-20, frustratingly "STOP GRINNING LIKE AN IDIOT!!!" dumb.

SNOOCHIE BOOCHIES. C'mon!! When I first heard Madden, I was like "Holy Crap, that dude just doesn't give a fuck!" because he was all shooty and shit, but then I realized he was a tool shed. Though he did say "FLY FATASS FLY!" when Hugh Morris went up top, so there's bonus points.

One of my favourite moments was when Stevie Ray called Reys bronco buster "face full of stuff" and Tony said "It's the bronco buster"... Stevie just didn't understand the nuances of the move and how it differed between man and woman... he was so confused, because he was so excited to call it. THIS was the magic of WCW, my brothers. Something that can be looked back on fondly and makes you smile. "Tony, what was that move?" "That's a death valley driver, Stevie" "It's the DVD!" (-Tenay).

You got me baby. You know, it's gonna take me, mmm, 2-3 minutes to get out of this stuff, get in to my garb, and I'm gonna get in the ring, and gonna get in yo BUTT. It ain't gonna take long, Hennig. http://www.ddtdigest.com/updates/sounds/1999053s001.wav From a personal standpoint, you can suck a nut, fruitbooty. Stevie Ray kicked it.
-
Please, WCW had Stevie fuckin Ray. PRIME TIME! PRIME TIME! HIZZ HOUSE! PRIME TIME! I DO NOT LIKE SCOTT JAMES.
-
This is just fucking bullshit. BULLSHIT! HTQ is a RRR mark, that's so fucking obvious! NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND! This is so fucking bogus. Where's my PR guy???
-
Oh, YOU HAVE. RRR: What do you think of that K909 feller? HTQ: Dude's an idiot. RRR: Diss. True story.
-
The only people, it seems, that has a problem with HTQ -the mod- are the people who have problems with HTQ -the poster-, and that's probably because at one point HTQ called them an idiot and it hurt their precious feelings. The problem isn't with his actual performance -as a mod-. He has a blog where he talks about the stupid things people say here, but does he actually ban those people simply because he disagrees with them? I haven't seen it. You want him gone based on this principle that a mod is something more than just someone who keeps things in order. The idea that a mod is supposed to be a representation of an "ideal poster" is retarded. A mod should delete or move threads that are not appropriate to the folder, give warnings to posters who are disrupting a thread, identify trolls and banned posters and ban (or recommend banning) those who he/she feels has a negative effect on the board. If you look up the definition of a moderator, there's nothing in the definition which states they're a role model or anything of the sort. The fact of the matter is this: the WWE folder is well run. Until the day it is not, there is no reason to get rid of those moderating it. If another mod feels HTQ is a troll, there's nothing stopping him/her from recommending that HTQ be removed. There are internal checks and balances here so it's not like HTQ can do whatever he wants to do. You troll, you clearly troll, you're a borderline gimmick poster given the way you conduct yourself in the wrestling folders, he called you on it and now you're all pissy because, not that you feel you're being unfairly warned, but because you don't like the guy warning you. Go back to the Pit and bitch there, it's not amusing here.
