I guess part of the problem is that there aren't any large markets for most teams in the MLB. Being in Boston, if you're not watching the Red Sox, you're not watching baseball. Unless you fork over the money for the nifty packages, you're limited to what you can watch. However- this is no excuse for ignorance of the rest of the league. There's the internet, and ESPN, and lots of other ways to figure out what else is going on.
