  1. umm, Hardcore Forums anyone!?!
  2. I don't think that was a real option. Kerry doesn't answer the question, and there's another sliver for the "Kerry's weak on defense" or "Kerry doesn't know how to handle terrorism" line. Instead he did the thing that neither harms him nor attacks the president. No, there isn't. There's a "Why the fuck is the media politicizing 9/11?" and a mention of how sad it is that Michael Moore has so much influence --- but not an inch of criticism of Kerry. -=Mike umm, he didn't take a shot at the president. He just answered a question that he was asked. I know being a Bush supporter and all, you are pretty used to your leader not answering questions, but that doesn't mean others can't. I know that anything anti-Bush is peachy keen for you --- but flat-out LYING about what you'd do is just sad. Especially when it's done solely to slam Bush. -=Mike How exactly do you LIE about a hypothetical situation that never existed in the first place?

    Jobs report

So, YOU are doing badly? -=Mike ..."New jobs are ALWAYS fast good and dept. stores?" Funny, a hospital just opened locally and quite a few jobs are open THERE... Yes I am. Pay is down, jobs are decreasing regularly, behefits being cut...the only new ones are always low pay/low hours employment. Ive seen dozens of local factories moved to foreign locales in the past few years...dozens of factories = hundreds of jobs. And to spare you the response Mike - Bill Clinton stole those jobs and Sean Hannity has a delicious penis -=Mike oh and don't forget Bush has been endorsing lately, "FLEX HOURS" aka screw people out of overtime...... You know, I'll take the word of people who know shit about economics and the proposals. Considering how badly you demagogue anything Bush has passed (you never could explain all of the atrocities that the Patriot Act led to), you are hardly a solid source of info. -=Mike well pardon me if I don't give a shit? It hardly matters with you anyway. I do agree sometimes I may post to quickly without giving a source, but providing a source has never really changed anyone's opinion on anything on this board anyway. I haven't seen anyone ever change their mind because ABC/FOX/BBC/DRUDGE was credited rather then just someone bring stuff up in conversation.

    Jobs report

As would I, considering that this reeks of BS and all. So, even though you and everybody you know is doing just fine --- you just assume most others must be suffering? -=Mike I work a temp job and go to school, so yes I guess I am doing fine relatively speaking, but I am not trying to raise a family and am not in a situation where losing my temp job would drastically hurt. However, it is pretty ignorant to look at your own situation and then turn a blind eye to everything else going on.
  7. Run CMOS, and change the hard drive setting to AUTO. Reboot..... If that doesn't work, open up your computer and make sure none of the connectors are loose or unplugged.

    Jobs report

Well I would also like to hear in these news reports more about the kinds of jobs that are being "created" and how they compare to the jobs that were lost as far as wage and quality go. Does losing an engineering job and becoming a cashier at Wal-Mart a month later qualify for "job created" ? Personally, I don't think people that live in or around bigger cities ever feel the pinch of a bad economy anyway. Where I live, there is usually always going to be jobs no matter what, whether the news says the economy is good or bad, however in more rural areas of the country one big plant or warehouse getting shutdown can basically cripple the local economy. I just don't think the media gives us enough information in the vague reports on the economy.
  9. He called you on it. You tried to reframe the argument and ignore what you originally said. Umm, you posted what I originally said. If you MENTION A CONSPIRACY THEORY ON-AIR --- then you BELIEVE IT. If you say, on-air, "Well, this needs to be investigated to put this to rest", it means YOU BELIEVE IT. Reporter: Why won't Kerry release all of his and his wife's tax returns? Bush: Well, there are probably good reason. One theory --- which I don't personally believe, mind you, but several others do --- is that he and his wife run cocaine out of S.America and sell it to kindergarten children. I've also heard rumors --- again I don't buy it --- that he is a hitman for the CIA. The records NEED to be released to put these rumors to bed. Would you ignore an OBVIOUS --- and insane --- implication because of the "I don't personally believe it" caveat he stated? That's as legitimate as the whole "no offense" caveat that people let fly right before they intentionally offend you. -=Mike Well I think you missed the point that Dean was talking about the suppression of information and the dangers of it, where as you conveniently leave out that part in your little mock quote of your hypothetical situation.
  10. If that's the case, then I'd have to say Bush has the IQ of a bowl of chex after the milk has been poured and has sat there for 30 minutes and made the nice crunchy chex into a bowl of mushy mess....
  11. No --- attacking Bush for his reaction is pathetic, childish, and politicizing a national tragedy for personal gain. As Rudy said, Kerry is apparently taking talking points from Michael Moore... -=Mike ...If you say "I would've acted", but you DIDN'T act --- then you'd best learn to simply shut the hell up... He wasn't the Commander in Chief at the time though. He didn't attack Bush, he didn't say anything along the lines of, "Bush was wrong in what he did because....." He was just simply asked what HE would have done in the same situation. How the president reacts in the situation should not be the same as yer average joe, or even a senator.
  12. Jig, you don't MENTION a single conspiracy ON-AIR if you don't BELIEVE it. You simply don't. You didn't hear Republicans saying that they've "heard", but "don't believe" that FDR knew about Pearl Harbor in advance, did you? -=Mike Well that is just side-stepping the issue of the fact that you claimed Dean said something that he didn't. I think it is hilarious that when confronted Hannity will admit he mispoke, yet on his TV show he will go right back to using the same old tired, "dean said he knew about it" argument as a talking point. Was Dean possibly doing a dumb thing by mentioning conspiracy theories, sure, maybe, but he never said he believed any of it.
  13. I think this has already been posted. Or something pretty close. And I am not sure the point, considering Kerry wasn't the president at the time and wasn't expected to act. He was simply asked a question as to what he would have done in the same situation, and as expected, any response other then, "I would have done the same thing as Bush, he did the appropriate thing, god bless that man" is met with criticism.
  14. Not even my disdain for Bush could get me out to one of these concerts... The only question now is will Hannity gather a bunch of country singers to counter this and name the concert, "The Patriots who Love America Tour"
  15. well at least I didn't bet any money that they would name it "Low Buyrate"
  16. that is one thing I can't stand about the religious right and/or the moral authoritarians, they act azif the Left is encouraging young girls and women to run out and have abortions or something. Like there is some collective effort by liberals to do this. It is just silly.
  17. There's a story on CNN.com(and I'd imagine other mainstream new sources) that have the headline, "Kerry Criticizes Bush's reaction to american under attack" which is horrible spin, because Kerry never criticized Bush's response, he was just simply asked what he would do in the same situation, but since he didn't say, "Umm I would do exactly what George Bush did" I guess that translates into criticism........ Come on Liberal media, you aren't holding up your end of the bargain
  18. So is your mind now made up that his Cy Young year was just a CAREER year, and he is incapable of returning to that form? I'm just afraid for not getting enough value for him and then having to watch him return to form on another team....
  19. "when the chips were down, you could not count on Kerry" !?! I don't get it, his crew seems to think he was a hero and the one guy holds Kerry responsible for saving his life when he fell off the boat, but I guess that doesn't qualify as the "chips being down" This ad is just stupid. I feel sorry for people that would actually watch it and give it a second thought. I also don't understand the whole "lied to get his purple heart & bronze star" I mean even if he tried to, what commander in their right mind would just hand them over....... Kerry: "umm, even though I wasn't wounded, can I have a purple heart anyway, I heard the look great on a resume"? Commander:"Oh, well, normally, this would be unethical and totally against protocol, but I just can't resist your charm sir, so in addition to this purple heart, how about a free bronze star to'boot" Please....
  20. This is exactly why the A's can't make it out of the first round, because of games like last night. Argh......
  21. yeah considering at age 40 he sounds like a viable option. Even though Quincy is subpar at best, he was still the best option for the Cowboys as a starter out of the three they had. Now they will have an over the hill vetern who is planted in the pocket.
  22. The craziest part is the portion of the crowd that will admit they were misledand possibly lied to, and just don't care for the mere reason that they personally wanted to take Iraq out.
  23. Again, the largest focus was on WMDs, which was supported by most of the time-honored intelligence and knowledge we already had. Try telling the UN in 1998 that Saddam had no WMDs and they would laugh at you. Same two years after that and such. There was no reason whatsoever not to believe that Saddam had WMDs, from all the intelligence gathered and given. Secondly, if you haven't been reading, the Senate has said that Joe Wilson gave us a crock and that the Uranium claims actually DID have truth and were a credible threat. Oh well despite the fact that inspectors had never found any, and were pulled out in order to start dropping bombs!?! Because, hey, UN Inspectors before Blix DID find stuff and always thought that there was more out there. And on not finding anything: I keep mentioning this, because everyone loves to ignore it, but Saddam was developing a long-range missile program that could hit as far as Israel and Egypt. Doesn't sound too peaceful, does it? Now, I have to wonder what the hell a mentally-unstable dictator would need a long range missile program with no payload for, but... Who in the hell ever claimed Saddam was a peaceful guy? I don't remember Bush saying we were going to Iraq to dismantle the deadly long range missle system. I specifically remember hearing "WMD's, WE KNOW WHERE THEY ARE...."

  25. Umm yeah, the WMD "intelligence" also falls under the distortion umbrella, considering for one Colin Powell and Condi Rice both said Iraq didn't have them a few months before the war drum starting beating, and considering Rummy said he knew where the weapons were and could get to them right away. Like I said, it was distortion and misleading the american public that lead to 90% of the support for the war, with the other 10% being the "eh, whatever Bush says works for me" group.
