which is suppose to tie in on the attitude of "fighting" terrorism. So it should make the plot and theme even MORE interesting.

it worked fine for Half Baked.

I agree. That was Shamalan's first straight forward flick, IMO. My friend was just telling me that the "twist" was that the movie wasn't about the aliens, but what the aliens symbloized or whatever. I didn't really like "Signs," but I think "Unbreakable" is underrated. I read a theory that Signs was a metaphor that strengthened Shamalyn's religious beliefs or something. I dunno to me Signs was the weakest of his three movies. Oh and if you wanted to STRETCH, you could say the twist in Signs was that these all powerful aliens that were afraid of water, decided to come invade a planet that was 75% filled with water.......LOL, I know that isn't a twist, just a plot deficiency......

There was that one, or the one where..... he makes it to the otherside of the woods, and some guy drives by in a truck and says, "ugh, stupid white people" and then it cuts to the credits, and the audience just puts two and two together for themselves

Mind Eraser - Vodka, Kaluha, Club Soda poured over ice Irish Car Bomb - Half Pint of Guiness, pour a shot of whiskey into a shot glass, top it off with Baileys, drop the shot into the Guiness and chug..... It doesn't take many of those to get you nice and crazy.

That would be a good ending. I read in EW, I think, that M. Night and the lead cast had to be called back in for re-shoots. Some guy guessed the ending of the movie by just reading the tagline, so Night had to change the ending. I don't mind that ending, but at the same time the biggest way M. Night could suprise people would just to do a STRAIGHT FOWARD movie/storyline. Since everyone going in should be sitting around waiting for a twist.

We don't have THE "Waffle House" out here, but we have plenty of places that would qualify as a Waffle house, such as Dennys, Eppies, Pancake Circus, Silver Skillet etc....they are all 24hr, have a tougher then nails $5 steak & Eggs dish, and all attract the late night, partiers/stoners/insomniacs etc.......So I am sure everyone should get the jokes. I think Dennys started serving white castle mini burgers, or at least their own little version which most likely tastes similar. I used to go to Dennys after playing pool and drinking beer at the bar. The things I have witnessed were fantastic/scary/hilarious/hideous all wrapped up in one...... Oh and I see "Cult Classic" written all over this, because I almost get the vibe that a large portion folks are going to think they are "too cool" to go see it in theaters, but once it hits DVD and people start renting it, the word of mouth will spread........

The problem with this angle, is how in the hell is the crowd supposed to sympathize with Lita? She admittingly slept with two guys, and now doesn't know who the father of her baby is.......where is the sympathy? I know that technically, she only slept with Kane out of fear and protection of Matt, but still, it is a done deal now, and I don't see a young male crowd sympathizing with a character being perceived as a slut.

I am just so hoping that the Triple H/Orton proposed title match scheduled for WMXXI gets nixed, however with Orton losing the I-C title, I see the build coming.

Well I have been a Madden player since 1992, not because of any pre-coceived "loyalty" only because I always felt it was the best NFL game out there. After the grumblings last year about ESPN 2K4 I was kind of intrigued. I am still buying Madden 2005, however for $20, ESPN 2K5 has earned a shot with me, so I will be owning two NFL game this year. Question: Does ESPN Football support the network adapter & USB headphones?

the difference though is that in 28 days later it was just regular people infected with a virus, however in the Dead series it is actual DEAD PEOPLE coming back to life, that is why I am wondering if for the new sequel, it will be revealed that the dead have stopped coming back to life, and they just have to deal with the rotting corpses that are still left, because you'd think with the amount of people who die everyday, there would be plenty of fresh new zombies resurfacing everyday.

Bush promotes measure against gay marriage
NoCalMike replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
Yes and you were doing fine until you started comparing it to the blacks' quest for civil rights. I wasn't trying to say it was exactly the same thing. I was trying to compare it to another instance in which the majority should keep their mouths shut when it comes to the minority. Some people really don't understand that: A) We don't always want to hear their advice and B) It IS offensive to assume you know better than we do about ourselves, so I was trying to compare it to something most people do know about and understand (at least nowadays). -Xias For me it is simply an issue of equality and everyone being affored the same legal rights under our constitution. Nothing more, nothing less. -
Ditka Considering Senate Run
NoCalMike replied to Dr. Tyler; Captain America's topic in Current Events
ummm, who are you referring to, Arnold? Because all he has really done so far is raise tuitions, and cut funding to a lot of programs all in the name of some new budget that strangely hasn't been presented yet and keeps getting delayed. Not to say he is doing any WORSE then Gray Davis was, but what was the point of the recall if all we were to receive was someone equally as useless? -

Hell it worked for Arnold, name recognition that is. Arnold arguably sounded the most clueless of the candidates in the debates, yet no one cared and still voted for him. -

I have hoped for a long time that our government would take the attitude and come out say something like, "we appreciate the positive aspects that many religions bring to daily life, and acknowledge that everyone can take certain aspects from holy books and apply them to their lives in order to better themselves, but we as a governing body continue to take the position not to endorse or advance any single religion over the other, and will not be influenced to make our decisions via pressure from any religious groups, our job is to insure the equal rights of all of our citizens in every way possible, and to make clear that there is a definite line to be drawn where religion ends and government begins" To me that would pretty much clear up the gray area when it comes to religions role in the way government rules and makes laws. -
MTV chief says Bush AIDS policies will not halt
NoCalMike replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
I don't think ANY sex ed class/commercial/MTV ad has presented condoms as the "end all, be all" All they do is include, "greatly reduces your chance" which is A FACT, and on top of that, most of the commercials indeed start out with the statement: "Abstinence is the only sure way blah blah....." -
Well I wonder what happens to the people that are CURRENTLY DYING. I mean has the rising of the dead ceased and they only have to deal with the rotting corpses, because I dunno exact figures, but I would venture to say that A LOT of people die in the world on a daily basis, and just one bite/scratch will infect you. So I wonder if there will be the usual, "no worries, problem contained slowly turns intoOh No they are all over the place, we're all gonna die" scenario.... Also, there is that New Day of the Dead movie coming out that I posted the offcial site for a day or so ago....looks decent.

I know there is a difference, but can someone explain it to me. That being the difference between a POW and an "enemy combatant" ? Not just your personal opinion, but the technical differences. Thanks!

Bush promotes measure against gay marriage
NoCalMike replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
Ok here is something I never understood. Heterosexuals are not required to be married in front of a priest, rabbi, preacher etc....they can go and get married in front of a judge, which in theory strips the religious nature of the event away, so if this holds true, then why should homosexuals not be afforded this same right? Forget the church, they can do what they themselves view as their own religion's way, but for the government themselves, shouldn't that be an entire different issue? Assuming the government is not being dictated by religion, and more being more concerned with equal rights for everyone. Also, as far as the gay "re-education" camps, they are basically all about making the person feel ashamed about the feelings they have, and in the end pretty much tell the person in a condiscending way, "oh well you can have those feelings, but just bury them deep down and NEVER ACT upon them" So the person is never really changing how they feel or their true attractions, they are just being trained to ignore, resist and suppress, which usually leads to severe unstability in life. They may go on tolead a normal heterosexual life with including marriage and children, however they still will never truly be happy. A good example of this was Rick Fitts's dad from American Beauty, he got married and had a kid, who he probably loved very much, but you could tell from the very beginning he was not happy inside at all, rather ashamed. -
"you fucking people" ? Whadda ya mean "you fucking people" RACIST RACIST BIGOT BIGOT......BAN PLZ~! Just kidding.......

Do you honestly think this is by accident though? WWE had plenty of guys a year ago ready to step up to the plate, before they were beaten and discarded by Triple H. I mean seriously we should consider it a gift from GOD ALMIGHTY that Benoit has been able to do what he has done against HHH so far.

I figured they were just Amish/Colonial folks that use the "threat of monsters" as a way to scare anyone that thinks about venturing out from the villiage via curiosity. I have a feeling it will end with Jaoquin Phoenix's character making it to the other side of the woods, and it will be like the Outskirts of Philadelphia or Pittsburgh and it will be revealed that it is actually present time (2000-ish)

I trust that Romero will have a kickass DVD waiting for us, after we have to settle for the R-rated version in the theater.....I am so there.

MTV chief says Bush AIDS policies will not halt
NoCalMike replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
Umm No. Condoms greatly reduce your chance of getting HIV/AIDS, that is a FACT that cannot be disputed. Of course they aren't full proof, but no Condom manufacturer ever claimed they were. I think it is something in the low 90%'s that yer chances of contracting AIDS gets reduced when using a condom PROPERLY. The problem teens run into is that they think Condoms are ALSO for birth control which is not the case. Condoms are made to reduce your chance of getting an STD, however they do reduce the chance of pregnancy as a bi-product of the mechanics, however that is not what they are designed for. That is why the girl should also be on some type of birth control even if the male uses a condom everytime. Promoting an Abstinence ONLY message is not only unrealistic, but is borderline irresponsible, considering the mixed messages young folks are BOMBARDED with today. I mean what will have more impact, a two hour Sex-Ed class, or sixteen years of desensitised sexuality via mainstream media? -

I just can't stand when people use religion to justify anything, because more times then not, people will SUDDENLY BECOME RELIGIOUS, if they happen to agree with something the bible is against, but after the issue is dead, they will go back to their lives living however the hell they want to regardless of what the bible says.
