  1. If anything Elite XC and Kimbo's promotion team are doing the smart thing with him. First he fights Bo Cantrell who taps out on the way to the ground after a punch to the shoulder. Then he fights Tank Abbott who has a TON of name recognition to the masses and casual MMA fans, so when Tank does his usual flop, it makes Kimbo look like a god. Now all indications are pointing to Kimbo vs. Shamrock(if he wins his next fight) which would once again be Kimbo vs. a guy who probably doesn't belong fighting anymore let alone at heavyweight. Again, I am not saying Kimbo has no potential, because he seems to be serious about his MMA career and not just here for a quick paycheck, but I think Bas and the rest of his team is smart about not throwing him in there with guys that are going to do anything more then try to slug it out with Kimbo. Yet. It is only a matter of time though. If Kimbo Slice makes it to 5-0, I'd say that to make him legitimate in everyone's eyes, he is going to have to face someone that has a more complete game. MMA fans are pretty eager to see what happens if Kimbo is taken down to the canvas.
  2. There is a rumor that the PS3 will become backwards compatible with a firmware update soon....*cross your fingers*
  3. Well I checked the PS3 forums and my question has been answered. Basically most modern periphrials require too much energy to be charged/function via a usb hub without it's own power supply.....that is why for instance a controller can be used via a powerless hub yet it won't charge through that same connection, and why the headset will work but the guitar hero 3 wireless adapter won't. So basically I just need to go pick up a usb hub that has it's own power supply.
  4. So there was a debate on a morning radio talk show I listen to sometimes, well it was more of every caller saying why to get blu-ray and not HD-DVD, but then some guy called in and said both technologies will be obsolete in a year or two because of the hologram/holographic discs that are about "8 months away from being marketed" the guy said they hold 9 terbytes of info and cannot play on blu-ray or hd-dvd machines..... Is this guy just a kook, or what?
  5. Just to give an update if anyone cares......I just figured out that because the PS3 supports DLNA servers, and since my PS3 is connected to the optical surround sound port in my receiver.....I should be able to open my music files from my computer on my PS3 and play them......so I am happy.....I will verify all this when I go home from work today!!!
  6. Aint it Cool News has the red band trailer up.....watch it and laugh hysterically while it is still available......... http://www.aintitcool.com/node/35611
  7. I wonder if the Oakland Athletics front office will be offering super specials on tickets this season considering they basically traded away their chances to be a competative team.
  8. Well I didn't cite any specific issues, just that Obama is liberal on most of them. I think you are underestimating the damage the 'liberal' label can do to someone in some parts of the US. There was a GOP primary congressional race here where the whole thing was just candidates throwing around accusations of the others being liberal. And guess what? It worked. Andy Harris won his primary. Check em out. http://youtube.com/watch?v=fKNtr-MazaU&feature=related http://youtube.com/watch?v=9fFpCjzPJSI&feature=related Now I know this is a GOP primary election. But my point is that this guy just labeled everyone who opposed him a liberal, and that won him the race over a longtime incumbent. There are just a ton of people in this country who will never vote for anyone considered liberal, regardless of what the actual issues are. Right, it is definately a tactic of conservatives, but again they have spent a lot of time and effort into making people think "liberal" means communist/socialist/pinko/traitor etc etc. And then on top of that Democrats don't do themselves any help by trying to avoid being called "liberal" themselves. Instead what they should do is make a more intellectually honest definition of what it means to be liberal and I think more people then not would identify with it. Right now "liberal" is an ugly word, yet it's equal counterpart "conservative" while not appealing to everyone, doesn't have the same repugnant effect.
  9. Most american cities aren't properly equipped to handle public transportation in a realistic manner, but then again it probably has to do with the way urban sprawl and the automobile lobby has shaped public policy over the last century. I am sure it isn't a mistake that public transit sucks in most areas.
  10. So Dana White basically said that Kimbo Slice would get hurt real bad against any UFC HW.... Kimbo's inexperience would hurt him, but with Bas training him, I think he could hang.......of course it comes as no suprise that Dana White is hating on a non-UFC fighter. Anyways, this Satuday Kimbo Slice vs. Tank Abbott
  11. I am pretty sure I haven't.
  12. I think America is more liberal on the actual issues then most people think, however, when was the last time the Presidency was won because of "the issues" ?
  13. Yeah, some of my jobs have been via connections either directly or indirectly such as name-dropping. My wife is kind of a hookup for Sutter, but it seems they don't mess around much when it comes to hiring. I mean some companies might hire someone because they can talk their way through an interview but from my perception this was more of a no-nonsense, "either you have the skills/experience or have a nice day" kind of interview, which is fine, because the last thing I want to do is quit my job to get hired when I know I am underqualified but lied in my interview, and then a week or two into the new job they see right through me and fire me....lol. Once in awhile I get the email alert for just a straight data entry job and I always apply, but the problem is it is never for my wife's office/building, always another sutter facility so she has no power or sway to have the supervisor pick out my resume....it so happens that the one time everything falls in place, it is for a job that I am just under the curve in skills/experience for.....lucky me eh?
  14. While I am currently employed, I really hate my job. Well let me clarify, the job itself is ok, but the pay sucks, there is no room for advancement and my boss is not someone that is a joy to work for, more or less I try to hide from her and have as little contact as possible except when absolutely necessary. I took the day off work today(I have about 88 sick hours at my disposal) to interview with sutter about an administrative assistant job. My wife works for sutter as a Medical Assistant, so going into the interview I was pretty confident. To my dismay, the very first words out of the panel's mouth was "we just want to clarify that we reviewed that online description and the job is not as entry level as the description makes it seem" GREAAAAAAAAAAT. There goes my confidence down the toilet. Truth be told, I am pretty well versed in MS Office programs. I am strong in Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Intermediate in Excel, and a novice when it comes to Access. During the interview I found out that this position is kind of one of those positions where you just kind of get thrown assignments and projects your way and it is just kind of up to you to figure out how to get them done. There is no set structure, it is just a "find a way to get it done" enviornment. Well this immediately set my "no thanks" meter off, but for $16/hr I decided to keep the interview going. Anyways, by the end of the interview I got the vibe that they liked me but didn't think I have enough experience in excel and this type of enviornment for the job, and I am perfectly fine with their observation because it is accurate. I am just kind of dissapointed that the online description wasn't more clear because I hate taking days off work to follow leads that turn out to be a waste of time. On the subject of looking for work in general. It fucking sucks. Is it me or have temp agencies basically taken over websites such as craigslist and monster.com ? I remember back in the day at least when you applied for jobs on there, you had a good chance of applying for full-time work. Now, no matter what category you choose, it is 90% temp agencies that aren't really offering a job, just a chance to come down to the office, fill out massive amounts of paperwork and then go back home sit around and hope you get a phone call(yes I have dealt with temp agencies in the past). So to anyone reading this, what methods have you found the most successful when searching for work? Do you just dress up, get in the car, drive around and collect applications? I am almost to the desperation point of doing that because the internet is becoming less of a resource for quality jobs and more of a way for temp agencies to fill head-hunting quotas.
  15. Yeah, the previews for next week make it seem like there is a lot to cover in a one hour timeslot(considering commercial breaks and all)
  16. The Taz/Sabu double-turn was kind of funny because really Sabu still wasn't received as a heel he was still cheered, and Taz had also gained a lot of cheers from the crowd because of his "Path of Destruction" leading up to Barely Legal, it was more a Taz/Bill Alphonso turn because up to that time Fonzie was the perfect annoying voice for Taz's more serious demeanor. Also, I am not even really sure if Taz even really turned at all, it was more Sabu trying to turn heel w/Alphonso turning uber heel. 1997 was a popular time in prowrestling for the "badass" gimmick.
  17. Mark me down as another fish-sandwich lover. I have liked pretty much all of them from any fast food chain. Oh and I also like fish tacos.
  18. I am ok with Zorn as a head coach and I think a WCO or modified WCO is a good system for Jason Campbell, it is more the idea of the team starting all over again and learning a brand new scheme AGAIN, that has me bummed. At least the Defense is going to mainly stay within the same scheme.
  19. Something that always frustrates me/cracks me up about the Devil May Cry series is that you get these random bad guys who look intimidating as fuck, but then you actually start beating them down pretty decently so you get alll confident and shit, and then right when you are about to apply the finishing blow, out of nowhere, the guy spawns 2-3 more clones of itself....sending you straight back into frustration mode.....
  20. *kisses his PS3*

    Superbowl XLII

Not their Mooch or Fassell excite me as a Redskins fan, but I would rather have Mooch.
  22. My mom used to own a business next to a Circle K and they had this fabulous drink......... I can't find this beverage anywhere anymore. Do people remember this?
  23. I've had the game for two days and haven't even touched it yet.....too many things pulling me away from the video games, because I hate getting a new game and having to only be able to play it for a small amount of time when I first open it.....but alas, tonight is Friday and I have all night to get into this game!! WOOHOO!!!
  24. That is the only part that worries me that the lighting, and shadows will keep us from seeing anything significant. We better see more then a couple of shadows touching....
  25. I just watched most of McCain's speech he gave during my lunch break, and really all it sounds like is another eight years of Bush's policies. Now, personally I don't think he would make as awful a President as George W. Bush, but for a President with an approval rating in such a deep shitter, McCain sure didn't seem shy about pretty much running down the list of Bush's policies and how he plans to keep them in tact for another eight years, not to mention more escalation when it comes to the Iraq war and supposed "Iran conflict" I wonder what McCain's campaign theme is going to be because if he tries to chime in with "change" I am not sure how people wouldn't want to riot in the streets.
