    Superbowl XLII

I think the Giants totally shutting down the best offense ever is something to make it more than average. They had a special defensive performance in this game. Defense. Wins. Championships. You know what. Honestly I would agree with that sentiment, except for the fact that in the postseason the Pats never looked like the dominating team of the regular season. This is what I tried to convey to people. I fault myself for being so sure they would get it together for the superbowl, but for a 16-0 team, they sure were an average post-season team, and quite frankly they always have been, even in their all there superbowl winning years There are many teams from the past I could point to that might have had a few losses during the season, but come post-season time, they kicked the collective asses of the opposition. Then you havre the Pats, where basically 90% of your games come down to a GM FG in the closing seconds. Winning is winning, but when you are making the argument for "Best team ever" games like these don't help your cause.......of fuck I am rambling...... Thank You Mr.

So the Giants made a motherfuckin' fool out of me and my stupid fuckin prediction. Congrats NY Giants and Giants fans. With that said, I think this superbowl will be another one that is mistaken for being "one of the best" merely because of the close score, while the overall game itself was pretty lackluster and mediocre and probably won't stand the test of time. Stats-wise, I don't think anyone was that "great" In other words it reeks of why this era of the NFL is just not on par with the NFL 15-20 years ago. Sure, I am a hater, but I am also drunk so fuck it.......I am sure my opinion will be completely different tomorrow when I sober up.

Eli pulled a Favre and went for the homerun, while ignoring the fact that another receiver was wide open in the middle of the field...... P.S. I am placing full blame on Crown Royal for any and everything I say from this point forward in this thread.....

Right now the Pats can't cover Toomer or Burress......the playaction pass could be big down the stretch.

A little late with this comment, but I was hoping Tom Petty would have done "The Last DJ"

Is it me or do fans overreact to getting the ball first just a bit? If it is over-time then yes it means a big deal, but on the opening kickoff, it kind of just puts more pressure on your team to score on the opening drive or it is a wasted oppurtunity. It seems like there are a bunch of games where the team getting the ball first at the start of the third quarter is bigger.

Lip-syncing the star spangled banner? Lets hope Tom Petty gives us a show at halftime.
  8. So I have a USB hub hooked into one of the USB slots on my PS3 and the controllers will work and so will the headphones, but the guitar remote won't and the controllers won't charge unless directly connected. I wonder if it is because I bought a cheaper-line USB hub, or if that is just the way it is with those devices .
  9. I have never seen a double-fish sandwich at McDonalds but I have seen a 2 Filet O Fish sandwiches for $4, and a 2 Filet O Fish Meal Deal.

So I guess it is prediction time and not a second too soon. I dunno, maybe it is all the forced Giants hype that has been spit out over the past two weeks, but I just have a feeling that the Patriots run away with this game. I'm not necessarily saying it is a rout, but I think the Patriots won't be sweating too much by the third quarter. Of course, I could be dead wrong, but I just don't buy this Giants team as a Superbowl team, let alone a team that can possibly win a superbowl. I also don't necessarily think Eli will have some huge meltdown and throw 4 picks, I think he could have a decent game and the Giants lose regardless. Patriots 31 Giants 21
  11. Well I guess the next question is, coming off a loss in his debut, is Brock going to be a huge draw regardless of who he fights. Mir had credibility and Brock had mystique. Will Lesnar draw when he is facing a tomato can?

Try being a Redskins fan, ever since Joe Gibbs retired(the first time he retired) the franchise has been in shambles which only got worse when Dan Synder bought the team and took us from mediocre to an outright joke. Dan Snyder has done enough damage to the franchise to make even the most cruel messageboard fodder feel empty to me. And the worst thing of all, I will still be suckered into staying a die hard fan year after year.....HTTR!!! P.S. At least as a Redskins fan I do have something to be very excited about right now.....Congrats, #28 Darrell Green & #81 Art Monk!!!
  13. I just watched the Lesnar fight. Lesnar looked very green in there, but I guess that is what happens when you throw someone in there with a veteren because his name is a big draw. Brock's size and strength and wrestling ability are going to be a challenge for anyone to contend with. The future looks bright for Brock.
  14. Kimbo Slice vs. Brock Lesnar could be money in a couple of years.
  15. So does Sopcast ever show replays of the show, or do you pretty much have to catch it live?

  17. Darthtiki, did you ever end up having a squeezeburger?
  18. I actually think the Old Little Caesar's was a hell of a lot better tasting then the revamped "Hot & Ready" Little Caesar's of today. However, as has been said many a time before in this thread, it is $5 for a reason, and while it isn't the best, it is still a good deal, especially when you have to pick up a bunch of pizzas for a large group.
  19. Metal Gear Solid 4......Mario Kart for the Wii.......GTA 5.......Resistance 2......Ghostbusters.
  20. The saddest part really is that this whole ordeal will probably propel Jamie Lynn's career farther and higher then she would have gone if none of this would have happened. If the industry just disposed of her, and yes it sounds harsh but would she even be where she is anyways if it was not for Britney? I am not saying Jamie Lynn should be expunged forever, but the fact that an incident like this will probably open up more doors for her is sickening. Sensationalization at it's finest. Paris Hilton laid the blue-print. She was just a rich celebrity-wannabee that hung out on Hollywood blvd trying to act famous, and the only reason she was even given a second look was because she was rich. Then all of the sudden a sex tape comes out and a few years later you can't find a entertainment magazine and/or show without her ugly anorexic mug pasted all over it. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not like I am naive and think that a sex tape is something to ignore, but I just figured once it was seen by the world, it would get old after a few months and Paris Hilton would fade back into obscurity, but no, we have girls all over the TV saying Paris Hilton is their idol, everything from the stupid monster-sized sunglasses fad, to the trying to be 75 pounds soaking wet look.
  21. Forget the bigger issue of Global Warming for a second, and lets just hope that our government is interested in the least in cleaning up our own countries policies that destroy ecosystems here. Sometimes I just want our government to acknowledge a lot of the pollution and toxic waste that is bad for our food, water, and air. All the stuff that gets dumped into waterways and/or emissions that are dumped into the air. It doesn't simply just dissapear. I think if we put aside "the devastation of the earth as we know it" for a moment and just realize that a lot of business practices in this country are bad for people's health, it might get everyone more focused on trying to clean things up a little.
  22. So according to sherdog, Liddell vs. Shogun is official for June. http://www.sherdog.com/news/news.asp?n_id=11107
  23. I liked Ft13th Part 3....I really wish I was old enough to have seen it in theaters in 3D....haha.
  24. EDIT: Nevermind. I should have read to the end of the thread first....
  25. I actually just woke back up, I fell asleep during the debate. Had a long day at work today.
