That game is cool so far. I played it last night for an hour or so. I killed the first of the nine Assassins. Getting back to the hideout was a bitch at first.

I have an upconverting TOSHIBA that I had hooked up via HDMI to my TV, but now I don't even need it because the PS3 plays and upconverts standard DVDs as well as playing Blu-Ray discs. Anyone looking to buy an upconvert DVD player?
-
Well it is being reported that Santana Moss is probable for Dallas, and supposedly Marcus Washington is playing too. I guess that should help a little. I would prefer the starters on the O-line to be back....lol.

Good luck Scroby, I have been in this boat before and it sucks.

With me, I can usually start the day off fine with not getting enough sleep. As long as I am physically moving around and staying busy I am fine, and can just crash when I get home. Where I run into trouble is the downtime at work. Once I hit break or lunchbreak and I am sitting/doing nothing for more then 10/15 minutes, my body crashes like a ton of bricks, and it is hard for me to recover from that phase for the rest of the work day. Also, once it happens a few times, it is like your body thinks it is supposed to be a regular routine, and it kind of adjusts to know to do it at the same time everyday....

Well upon listening further, with the help of Spiderman 3 blu-ray. The only difference I seem to pick up, and it is very minor, is that with the coaxial cable, the base seems to be more thunderous, and with the optical the bass is a tad less but the overall sound seems more clean and accurate, but the overall quality is so similar, I couldn't really recommend one over the other. I'd definately say, go with whatever is cheaper or makes for the easier setup in your personal home theater system.

I know I don't. I am not talking about the PS3 capabilities, I was referring to the way my system is setup. But that means nothing anymore, because once I got home last night with the PS3, I hooked up the optical cable, and the sound quality was terrific. I wouldn't say it is leaps and bounds better then using the coaxial, but there is definately a difference, and hell if my receiver doesn't make it LOOK more special, with the optical cable hooked up, I saw glowing lights and scrolling audio bit information I have never seen on my receiver before. LOL.

Whether or not it presents a health risk might be stretching it, but that is definately more than "dust" LOL.

Gamespot gave it a 9.0 for the 360 & PS3.

Anyone buy this today? I am still at work counting down the last half hour....till I make the big purchase.

Well, in addition to Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Resistance, and Motorstorm, there's the recently released Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, Folklore, Ratchet and Clank Future, and Smackdown vs. Raw 08. Plus, Time Crisis 4 and Uncharted are coming out next week, and the latter is getting great scores all around. lol no games Yeah what he said. Plus at $60 a pop, it's not like I am running out to buy fix or six games in a hurry. Until more used copies start showing up at a reasonably discounted price, I am going to concentrate on one or two games that I really enjoy, rather then just building up a mass of games. Also, as more sales of the console happen, maybe it gives incentive to gaming companies to put forth the effort to take advantage of the PS3's superior hardware. I have been trying to tell so many microsoft fanboys(well, not so much microsoft fanboys as "gamers that like Halo and have sworn off the PS3 merely because it doesn't have Halo as if there are no gamers out there on the planet that aren't buying a system based on a 1st person shooter) that the PS3 will be fine once the price comes down, and it looks like $400 may have been the magic number, and there is also a rumored further price drop in time for Christmas.

Assassin's Creed. Buy it today.

Thats because they want to make more money. The only time the optical would be better is if you need a 25+ foot cord to hook it up(coaxial will lose quality with a longer cord because of the distance for the signal to travel). But since you aren't keeping your reciever in the house next door, optical and coaxial are EXACTLY the same in performance. . Yeah. I have no complaints with the quality I get from the Coaxial cable, however since the PS3 only has an optical port, I have to switch to optical cable, or keep both the DVD player and PS3 hooked up, which also means buying an HDMI splitter, and since an optical cable costs a lot less then an HDMI splitter.........yeah.

I am buying a PS3.

Well on the box for the optical cable, it has the diagram where it shows the "good, better, best, ULTIMATE" chart. Co-axial is listed as "better" Optical is listed as "best" HDMI "Ultimate" I will be using HDMI to hook it up to the TV, but I have to use optical to hook it up to the receiver. Either way, my setup will be pretty nice.

I'd say Dallas is better then Green Bay. Their offense is more explosive and they have a lot more weapons at their disposal. The only real weakness I see in the Cowboys is the secondary being able to cover the deep part of the field. Green Bay might be able to beat the Cowboys at home in December because of the advantage of being used to the weather, but I don't see them having a chance at Texas Stadium. Romo and the Cowboys having home field advantage in the playoffs could be just what they need to keep at ease a young QB. Of course, I desperately hope I am wrong.

It seems with video games, they ship on Tuesdays, but there is no way for the stores to know what time the shipments will actually arrive, so while they very well may get it on the 13th, they won't guarantee anything until the 14th. In the past I know when stores got it early, they would call people on the pre-order list and tell them they could come in and get it once it was available.
-
Well I just got back from Gamestop and turned in all My PS2 stuff including the broken system, and I got $120 in store credit...which makes me happy because I thought the max I would get was around $50. For $15 I got a subscription to game informer magazine and it added another 30% to my total trade-in value.....so this will make it possible to maybe pickup a second game with my PS3 on Wednesday, and maybe a 2nd controller.

If Chuck does lose this fight though, then he needs to be done with Main-Eventing/Co-Main Eventing for a little while, in order for him to sting some wins back together and rebuild his name. I mean it just feels kind of weird already that his loss to Jardine is basically being ignored so the hype machine can properly promote this fight.

My friend told me he was driving down the road one day and saw a lady getting hit by a car at a low speed, and as she was recovering and starting to stand up, the car veered off the road and hit a tree causing it to fall over and topple the lady back to the ground..... I worked at a car dealership as a detailer and our area was in the back of the lot which was bordered by an interstate highway. So one day I am just getting to work, and turning stuff on, getting stuff ready for the day when I hear a "Scrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech......*wham**bam**bam*bam*" So I walk over to the fence, and see a six car pile-up. The highway was immediately shut down as soon as the Police/Fire Trucks/Ambulences show up......so anyway, I am not even sure if anyone died.

I was always under the impression that optical was better then coaxial. I assume that optical is a digital medium, and coaxial is an analog medium. I'd probably say go with the optical first, and see how you find it. That is what I am going to do. I assume that I will be listening to movies at a louder volume then I play video games, so I will check to see if I hear any difference when I am watching movies on the surround sound. If not, then I will keep with my PS3 only setup, but if for some reason there is a difference, I will just have to buy an HDMI splitter and have the DVD player and the PS3 both hooked up.

Redskins really have no chance next week. Well I can't say "no chance" because the Redskins/Cowboys is one of those "anything can happen" rivalries, but the Redskins aren't consistent or aggressive enough on offense to keep up with the Cowboys scoring machine. That, and they can't generate a pass rush worth a damn which spells trouble against an offense that has a good amount of options to throw to. I will be rooting my hardest for the upset, but I seriously doubt it. It pains me to realize this as my hatred for the Cowboys is as much as a birthright as my diehard love for the Skins. It would have been nice to see TO get pwned again by Sean Taylor at least, but he got injured this week and I am not sure what his status is for next week yet.

I was looking through my receiver manual randomly today, and it was talking about the digital sound inputs. It has 2 opticals and one coaxial. Then it mentioned that "Coaxial is better for loud sound" Is this true, or is this more of an opinion by the manufactuer (Sony)? Does anyone have experience with both? Currently I use the coaxial input for my DVD player, but when I get the PS3 on wednesday it has an optical port, so I was going to use that instead(because the PS3 plays and upconverts standard DVDs, I won't even need to have my current DVD player hooked up anymore) I always was of the thought that the optical cable was the better of the two connections, even if it was only a minor improvement.....
