UFC 81: Breaking Point
Lord of The Curry replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Or the fight won't be long BECAUSE they're both gassed. Or that. -
"All My Little Words" got me into this album and yeah, it's good stuff. Now that I bought an 80g iPod this album is getting purchased.

Oh man, we need a DJ Gonzo cameo @ 78. -
I didn't realize this until after the episode was done, but Joss Whedon directed this one. Perhaps coincidentally, he directed the "Business School" ep which I also didn't care for... Blasphemy. 'Business School' had the Creed/Dwight alliance. "Animals can't feel pain."

It's not thread-start worthy but it's definetly note-worthy that UFC has chosen not to re-sign Yushin Okami, who's promptly been picked up by K1 HEROES and will make his debut on the Dec 31'st DYNAMITE! card facing Dong Sik Yoon. I don't understand the logic of UFC pointing out that Okami was one of their top MW's in an article just last week and then choose to not re-sign him but at the same time having Okami around was bad for the division. -

BJ Penn vs Joe Stevenson Gabriel Gonzaga vs Fabricio Werdum II Kendall Grove vs Jorge Rivera Marcus Davis vs Jess Liaudin Sam Stout vs Terry Etim Not a bad card so far but hopefully this ends up being free. If that's the case, fucking awesome card. -
J-Rock talking about Serra's annoying voice was one of the more hilarious "Pot/Kettle" moments of this season. And this is likely going to fall just above TUF 4 as one of their worst seasons. Danzig steamrolling everybody in front of him should at least be mildly entertaining though.

I the episode because I think so far they've done a very good job of balancing the growth-factor of Pam and Jim's relationship while giving us the payoff moments we've been craving for three seasons. Case in point, Jim leaving Pam breakfast was sweet but the Second Life scene was a good at getting more in-depth in terms of how they view one another. One could make the argument that Pam might have seen (or in the future might see) in Jim the same boring character traits that she rid herself of in previous seasons. Jim's reluctance to talk about the character could've set off alarms in Pam's head that now that Jim has achieved his goal in dating her that he might not have much else to work for.

That eyebrow scar looks good on Tony. The biggest thing I'm looking forward to this season is Billy Walsh from Entourage as an FBI agent. If he can bring the pseudo Vincent Gallo dickery to a Government agent role then I'm sold on this season already.

Your list of 185 pound title contenders
Lord of The Curry replied to Mik's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
No, it's pretty bad too. The gap between Anderson, the #1 contender (whomever that may be) and the rest of the division is huge. Okami for all purposes should get the shot but the fact that Dana didn't mention his name is not a good sign. After that it's a huge drop-off. The problem here is that within the division you'll still have guys around like Marquardt and Franklin who, while not being good enough to take the title from the champ are certainly good enough to beat the rest of the division. -

Actually, you're thinking the opposite. Dana said Randy would own Fedor. -
I think either of them could do well as movie stars (isn't Jenna in Walk Hard?) but the problem is that for the most part they'd be playing Pam and Jim, though after seeing him on Law and Order I give Krasinski credit for playing a punk-ass white boy really well.

I don't mean to imply soon, just that I'm not sure if this will last forever. And until I hear Pam say that she's in love with Jim I'll be skeptical about the relationship because......yeah......she is a female.

Emotion. Heart. First-ever UFC card on live television. Crazy crowd heat. Drew a whole slew of new fans to the UFC. I mean, you're not a retard so I'm not sure why you're pretending that the things mentioned above didn't factor into this fight being as big as it is.

Griffin/Bonnar was FOTY for so many reasons beyond it being sloppy brawling.

I'm going to guess that any Chicago or NY TSM'ers have probably heard of Intellegencia Coffee and Tea company as I understand they're fairly big in those areas. So this company has exclusive rights to the beans of La Hacienda Esmerelda plantation which produces the most expensive coffee on earth and only sells it at certain times of the year, this time being one of them. Anywho, there's a coffee place in Toronto (College and Bathurst, for those who live here) that has secured the rights to Intellegencia coffee products and I thus had the chance today to drop 15 bucks on a cup of La Esmerelda coffee. And it was actually worth it. Unless you are an actual coffee drinker instead of just somebody who does it out of habit I wouldn't recommend it because the taste is pretty complex and actually changes drastically as the drink cools down. But goddamn that was some good coffee. I don't know if I can ever say I've had the most expensive beer, wine, cheese or meat products this world can offer but I guess in terms of coffee I've hit the peak. So if you don't mind dropping a disturbing amount of money on coffee get this shit soon because the stores that carry it will likely run out soon.

I think the big question now in terms of where Pam and Jim are at is if Pam will return Jim's feelings of love and what Jim will do if she doesn't. The way they're going right now it looks like the odds are going to be Pam breaking Jim's heart or being the one to call it off.

I'm too lazy to check the rest of the thread but has The Besnard Lakes' "Are The Dark Horse" been mentioned? If not, it deserves one.

You were honestly satisfied with the fights last night? Belcher vs. Starnes Horrible fight. Schafer vs. Bonnar Just average. Robinson vs. Gurgel Gurgel is a pile of crap. Sylvia vs. Vera ... Silva vs. Franklin Ok this was an amazing fight. Silva vs. Franklin definitely doesn't turn the entire card into "solid" for me. Belcher vs Starnes was horrible? Stop watching MMA. That was perfectly acceptable fighting. Bonnar vs Schafer wasn't amazing but nothing to get offended about. Robinson/Gurgel was good back and forth with Jorge tooling him in the first and Robinson coming back in the second and third to whoop that ass. Sylvia/Vera wasn't good, no questions there and the main event was fantastic and even the Jensen/Maia fight had some sick jiu-jitsu in it. Honestly, if this wasn't a solid card to you then I'm not sure what to say other then you're expecting too much from MMA.
