I was personally hoping that Eric Roberts would be Linderman. So who does the Haitian work for that this persons orders override HRG? Nathan would be the first guess on this one.

Way to spoil.

If you're going to avoid a show based on that then you were never going to give it a chance in the first place. Turns avs and sigs off if it bothers you so much.

My one and only experience with Asian tourists came on a family trip to B.C in 1997 when he was crossing the Capilano Suspension Bridge and the Asians thought it would be fun to start jumping up and down on the bridge, jabbering in Mandarin, caring nothing for the fact that they were scaring the living shit out of everybody else crossing the bridge at the time. As a child I thought it was funny but if that happened to me now I'd be pissed.

Fuck that ending. I could give two shits about Wayne being alive (even though he grew a pair in this episode) but I'll be fucking PISSED if Assad is dead. I think he survives only because they him around to tell the President about the bomb going off. I'm assuming that nobody outside Assad and Wayne survived because otherwise Assad would have an alibi that he was no the bomber. Overall a solid if unspectacular episode. I hate the Boozy Morris storyline because the only place it will lead is going to be Morris fucking something up big time and him getting let go and possibly killing himself. The interactions with Bauer, Logan and the Russian Consul next week should be fun.

Up until the last five minutes I didn't really care too much about the show. Then the montage kicked in with Tommy walking into the Italian bar and everything all of a sudden became pretty fucking awesome. Then the blade came out and things really went up a notch. It's tough nowadays to market a show as a straight-up drama, especially one that is more or less ripping off a previous show (Brotherhood) but this one did ok for itself. I think they were trying a bit too hard to compensate for the fact that they're on network television with some minor gaffes (honestly, who says "Bug off" in this day and age?). Either way I'll be tuning in next week to see Tommy beefing with Alvarez from Oz and to see how long it takes before he nails Jenny. I might've misheard the opening monologue from the snitch in jail but Jenny's husband is dead and she doesn't know it, right?

And then they all go to Clifton Hill, buy some saltwater taffy and NEVER LEAVE A TIP.

That ending was absolutely heartbreaking in every sense of the word. That episode did in one hour what Lost couldn't do in an entire season: resolve old conflicts and answer old questions while creating new ones. Should be interesting to see what happens to Claire and The Haitian and who The Haitian answers to.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

Another factor to consider in this fight is the size being pretty much equal. As much as I hate to quote Tim Sylvia here, Arlovski bullies people around because in most of his fights he enjoys a height, reach and weight advantage over his opponents but Werdum is 6'4 and weighs-in at around 240 so it's going to be interesting to see how Andrei deals with that. -
Immigrants who complain about the country they now live in, as opposed to the shittacular war and poverty zone they just fled.

Yeah, Werdum has competent hands but I don't think he wants to mix it up with Arlovski. I'm not sure that you can say "Arlovski is too good to be caught" as even in the PDP fight he exposed his legs while on the ground which, for a Sambo guy especially is a dumbshit move. Plus we've never really seen Arlovski on the ground for more then a few seconds at a time and we've never seen him put in a position like mount or back mount with somebody like Werdum's grappling skills. -
I won't spoil anything but holy fuck this was an awesome, awesome episode. Top five of the season so far without a doubt.

Man, if you didn't get misty-eyed at Whitakers speech you don't have a soul. MARTY. Good show, though I think Jackie Earle Haley and Eddie got fucked over on the BSA.

I'd be remiss to point out that Broken Social Scene providing the soundtrack for this movie definetly didn't hurt it in my eyes. I don't think I'll ever be able to listen to 'Shampoo Suicide' without thinking of Drey delivering the rocks to Dan at the motel. Speaking of, that's maybe the best scene in the movie because as a viewer we're waiting for the feel-good moment where Dan renounces his habit and realizes what it's doing to him and Drey and this was one of those moments where you felt it coming. But no. He gives her the cash and she leaves. Great stuff.

You said that already.

PRIDE 33- The Second Coming

Hendo shouldn't have made that crack about Wandy being in the hospital. You done pissed off Shogun and that's probably the worst possible thing you could do. It's not like Shogun didn't want to kill you before but now? Gump is a dead man. -
I think the whole "This is our work island, that is our home island" thingy was supposed to be a big reveal but it certainly didn't come off that way.

I should've told you to ask her to tell you a Creed story. I'm sure there's dozens of them.

PRIDE 33- The Second Coming

PRIDE President Nobuyuki Sakikabara said at the post-show press conference that there's a very good chance that on the April 28th PRIDE show in Vegas we'll see Gomi rematch Diaz for the belt. Then again, PRIDE is supposed to be running a LW Grand Prix later this year so I'm not sure how things will work out. Either way, after two losses and a split decison victory in the last year it's safe to say that Gomi is no longer the #1 ranked LW in the world. Sakurai, Aoki or Melendez would have to take that spot now. -
SNL performance?

PRIDE 33- The Second Coming

That was one of the best shows in a long, long time. Like, UFC 58 good. Since about then. There has never, ever in the history of MMA been a show where three weight classes were seemingly upset up unranked fighters. Sokodjou, Diaz and Henderson just totally turned the Mixed Martial Arts world on its head. Holy fuck what a show. - Hansen/Ireland was a great choice for the opener as it went at a good pace and showcased Irelands toughness and Hansens awesomeness. Great transitions to the finisher. - Trigg could even be counted as the fourth biggest upset on this show as he was a fringe top-tenner before the event and took out a definite top 10 fighter in Misaki. Good for Frank but what does that say about what GSP could to to the PRIDE 183 div. ? - Wiuff was going to lose, either to Nakamura or the dude who replaced him. - Holy Fuck #1. I've never, EVER seen a Nog treated like that. It was almost hard to watch. Goddamn Team Quest. - Damn good fight in Sakurai/Danzig with Sakurai showing that he's got some of the best, if not the best leg kicks in the game. Gully finish to boot. - Doughy Kharaitonov makes me sad with his limited ground game and sloppy subs. - SHOGUN. More on this later. But, SHOGUN. - Holy Fuck #2. Gomi/Diaz rocks our socks off for the first round as we realize that Gomi unquestionably undertrained for this fight and struggles as Diaz jabs him into a serious hurtin'. Balls out shit with Gomi knocking Diaz down and the round finishing with Diaz looking better. Then Gomi plays right into the hands of the Gogoplata and it's buh-bye. The rubber guard is probably the Hot Technique of 2007 so far, if you include Aoki's beauty on NYE. - Holy Fuck #3. Great, great fight even before the finish but when it happened it was like a bomb had been dropped. This was not the same Wanderlei as the one who killed Sakuraba, Rampage and many others. I don't know what the future holds for him. But I do know what the future holds for Henderson. SHOGUN. The king is finally stepping up to the throne. Get your quality time in with the belt, Dan. -

So yeah, it's on tonight and it's very, very sad that nobody cares because this card smokes the last two UFC shows. Hansen/Ireland, Gomi/Diaz, Shogun/Overeem and Hendo/Silva should all be great fun. -
