you know who the greatest party rapper is? ghostface. he doesn't say anything worthwile. but he's responsible for two of the deifinitve rap albums of the 21st century. pretty toney album as so much soul. thats soul. and its bangin.

at this message board i post at, we have this wonderful thread about people who shouldn't be able to discuss music. cbright fits into that category with his "the chronic is the best rap album of all-time" talk. the chronic is as overhyped of an album that there'll ever be. anyone who is biased towards the west coast, or is entangled in the whole eminem/dre/50 relationship will invariably boast that the chronic changed the rap game with dre's wonderful prouduction & yadayada. like many, or most, of the death row roster, the chronic is another album which places style over substance. there's a few "bangin'" tracks, but not a cohesive collection of songs that have a meaning, or have any soul. superficial. and yes, you are onto something. the greatest superficial album of all-time is doggystyle. one of the greatest party albums ever. the greatest gimmick rap album is 36 chambers. but as far as just being a well balanced rap album, neither will come close to touching ready to die.
