Nash and HBK fight for the good of the business!
Fökai replied to Insane Bump Machine's topic in The WWE Folder
Point was made a few days ago, that Steiner rarely was booked to win cleanly as a heel. Russo took the ass-backwards route of overbooking every Scott Steiner match in 2000 with foreign objects and interference. Proof? Looking at his PPV history in 2000 - Souled Out - NO MATCH. Superbrawl - NO MATCH. Uncensored - NO MATCH. Spring Stampede - beat Awesome with interference of Nash using a crutch. Spring Stampede - beat Sting with interference of Vampiro. Slamboree - beats DeMott with interference of nWo girls. Great American Bash - uses chain to defeat Tank Abbott & Rick Steiner. Bash at the Beach - loses to Awesome, after usage of chair, after Miller interferes, then Miller prevents him from winning and strips him of his U.S. title. New Blood Rising - pinfall loss to Nash. Fall Brawl - defeats Goldberg with use of lead pipe. Halloween Havoc - intentionally DQ'ed after using lead pipe on Booker and various referees. Mayhem - defeats Booker with use of steel chair in "Caged Heat" match. Starrcade - defeats Sid with interference of Jarrett, after use of lead pipe. He SHOULD be putting Russo over? And he should make sure to look even more like a neanderthal? I admitted that I was wrong on the account that he jobbed to Russo - that spear was from the Booker/Russo title match, which made Goldy look like more of a jackass for costing Booker the title. I could counter with a "And whose fault was that?" quip, but it's not worth the argument. Booker was given the belt at horrible spots in the company, so not only did those who were booked to look invincible (Goldberg, Steiner) overshadowed him, but he was given the worst feuds to build on. Uhh, NO. The pipe laid in his arm sleeve (which was there to puncture the window) slipped, so he instead threw a full-force punch with his HAND going through the window first. Again, his only serious threats were against HHH - he mentioned this ad nauseum in interviews in 1999. HHH as a HEEL CHAMPION did that. The post was referring to HHH as a face champ, which did HORRIBLE business and drew bad buyrates. When was he booked properly after his initial streak ended in December 1998? The company put their focus on everyone BUT Goldberg in the waning years, including extra title reigns for Sting, Hogan, Nash and Sid. "Ready-made" meaning a star from the WCW's boom period. In his mind, he SHOULDN'T consider himself a ready-made star, when Vince laid out a contact that treated him as such? Example 1 - Booking him over the WWE's top attraction (The Rock) in his first PPV. No, because ANYONE in his shoes would've done it, and that person is a liar if he/she says otherwise. NOTE: I answered every question fully and to the best of my knowledge over two days ago - my apologies if any of this came off as hostile. -
Refer to Choken's post - this is the first recorded instance of D'Von not being cordial and inviting towards the fans...and vice versa with Bubba.

AL ballparks that deserve a GAME SEVEN: New York. Boston. That's it. I just realized that because This Time It Counted, they'll have to do 4 games at Comiskey and 3 at Wrigley for the World Series instead of the other, better way around Isn't Choken referrering to the RED Sox, or am I missing the "blackout" reference?

I SWEAR I've never seen that scene in the movie (the theatrical release). EDIT: "Unbreakable" script online. Search for keywords "park" and "fair". I guess I'm alone on this. -
He has somehow amassed 2500+ posts since the board outage? Shit.

I've finally got my folders worked out to share. Keep checking in with me, for new (and old) matches. -
DMann, since I was a bit bored, I organized your list, sorted by type and promotion - well, you'll see. I didn't factor in the tapes that came after the first post, so the new tapes you've received are ones that you may file under the right list. WWF/WWE Monday Night RAW: 01-15-96 10-95 (Bret v. Duuuuuude. I was simply drafting from the 12th round on, with a random click of the mouse.

And the top 10, according to someone at the ROH boards - 10. Rob Van Dam 9. Eddie Guerrero 8. Kenta Kobashi 7. Booker T 6. Big Show 5. Chris Jericho 4. Keiji Muto 3. Kurt Angle 2. HHH 1. Brock Lesnar

This is the definitive answer. In a way, the TNA promotion is under pressure to put on a top-notch performance each week: both to add new viewers, and to keep those old loyalists. Any proposed television deal would help out IMMENSELY, not only to attract new viewers that are apprehensive about doling out the $10 each week, but to let loyalists keep track of angles that they may miss if they failed to see Week #59 (example). "I enjoy WWE more than TNA. Why I enjoy it more than TNA: 1. No Vince Russo. 2. No Shane Douglas." Thank you for your time.

MUZZLEFLASH! I was a bit anxious when I PMed you earlier in the week - I used the Muzzleflash program months ago on WWE Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth to get Rhyno, Lesnar and Angle (with accompanying "you suck" chants), so it's better to wait until October 14th (?) to get CDQ's of Rodney Mack and Los Guerreros, among others.

There's a good edit floating around on Kazaa, although it has a bit of commentary. Thanks for the constant updates, Eagan.

NOTE: Shelton Benjamin v. Bradshaw was also taped for Velocity, though I don't know if they're planning on airing that particular match in accordance with a possible Summerslam match. Normally, I'd leave this thread for TCR or the like to start - but considering we have a great "From The Vault" match this week, I'd like to let everyone know ahead of time to set their VCR's.

::reads over list again:: I'm surprised Benzino didn't put himself on this list... As for Run-DMC, I marked for Kings of Rock at 30. I had hoped that more of their content made the list, but I realize that the intended genre of their later stylings were more of the hip-hop variety.

--State performance taxes (which, if you seen A-Rod's chart, is outrageous). --Annual salaries for agents/spokesmen/personal trainers/dietitans --Income taxes That's just three factors that will cut those salaries quickly. Considering the stress, scrutinty and threats the players and their families go through on a day-to-day basis, I'd have to say that the salaries aren't as outrageous as it looks. THAT's where endorsement deals come in... So athletes should refuse ALL endorsement deals, by your rules? Endorsement deals equal extra money that will go to support their families...when you know, they turn 40, are retired AND CAN'T GET OUT OF BED CORRECTLY. And what kind of company will have a virtual unknown endorse their product? Refer to my first statement - these guys ARE making a good amount of money, but that almost certainly balances out when they'll go years without working after retiring from their sport. Warrick Dunn funds projects that construct homes for struggling mothers. Derrick Brooks funds trips that allow predominantly-black high schoolers, with hopes for a collegiate future, the opportunity to travel from Georgia to the northeast parts of the country, JUST to look at prospective colleges. You want more of these "non-existent stories"? Go ahead and read... Take off your blinders if you feel your ridiculous arguments hold water - maybe then you'll realize that athletes aren't as self-serving as you think. You're an insult to athletes who give their time and energy EVERY DAY to the disadvantaged, yet they don't receive any front-page headlines declaring their accolades.

Except even the people who like her will get the DVD and realize there's nothing on it worth the $25 bucks they spent on it when they can see the same things happen over and over on RAW and Confidential. And what would be worth the $25.00 or so spent on this DVD? I am confident that the fans KNOW what's on this DVD beforehand, as in the content (a profile on Stratus' rise to the WWE) - I seriously doubt that consumers are expecting R or NC-17 related material out of this DVD. The ones that WILL buy this, are her loyal fans - and judging by her merchandise sales, I'd say she has a healthy amount.

I'd like to know the names of the wrestlers who do not wrestle in any capacity. If you're talking about missing the occasional house show, it's due to the fact that the WWE currently has the largest (and most talented) roster in professional wrestling history. Not everyone will work house shows on a regular basis - the talent themselves understand that. Same goes with the television programming - not everyone will get written into shows, for periods of time. Noble's at the same level as Gunn right now. Orton has unbelieveable charisma for a rookie. From everyone that's come up from OVW since the brand split began, he's only behind Benjamin and Cena in that department. And to establish the point again, both Big Show and Mark Henry are tied into long-term contracts - neither can simply be bought out of their contracts, unless the WWE cough up millions. If you're paying a wrestler THAT much money, you'd expect to get results out of him - IMO, they've done it with Show periodically over the last ten months. I'm happy for Wight and I hope his status on SD! remains the same. And Kanyon? Well, lest we forget, he was part of the contingency associated with Page and O'Haire, who refused to follow locker-room etiquette during the Invasion. Couple that with a few streaks of bad luck, and you can figure out his current position. In the last four years... Triple H. Steve Austin. Brock Lesnar. The Rock. Kurt Angle. Chris Benoit. Chris Jericho. Eddie Guerrero. Edge. Mick Foley. And developing - Rhyno, Orton, Cena, Benjamin, Haas, Christian, Rey and Matt Hardy. Albert's received pushes? Are we talking about the half-hearted ones in 2000, or the ones killed quickly in 2001, 2002 & 2003? And considering that the cruiserweight division has only existed for four years in the modern era of the WWE, it's laughable to exaggerate with "ten". As for those cruiserweights - Malenko, Scott Taylor, Brian Christopher, Taka Michinoku, Rey Mysterio, Christian, Jeff Hardy and Crash Holly. ...unless you mean wrestlers from the last decade who were at cruiserweight-level - meaning Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, X-Pac and Owen Hart. I seriously don't know if TNA can bounce back from this loss. I mean...WOW. TNA means NOTHING, and will continue to mean nothing to them, until they secure a network television deal - which at that point, the WWE will raid them dry. It's called SMART BUSINESS (though it'll work in the reverse direction with the lack of competition besides TNA). WWE writers and agents were spotted at the ROH show last week in Fairfield. They recognize the modicum of talent these promotions trot out, but the promotions themselves are no match for the WWE at this point.
