Orton was booked to go over at Mania. He wasn't. I had to go back and remember what happened, but Meltzer agrees with the story. He injured his shoulder a few weeks before the match, and once they found out the severity of the injury, which he had to have major surgery for after Mania, Dave said they had to go with Taker winning.

Orton was booked to go over at Mania. He could've lost every match to Taker in their subsequent feud and saved face, but the first match was the make-or-break for Orton.

Isn't basketball the second biggest sport in the world behind soccer? It won't be long before it passes it. The NBA's legacy around the world will be far greater than the NFL will hope to achieve. THAT is why Stern is as good, or even better, than Tagliabue. The recent ruling on high-schoolers puts him over the top, in my opinion.

Like Scroby, alot of those gripes can be answered by reading the maual. In my case, I still haven't opened the manual since purchase two months ago and I've yet to be stuck for more than a few seconds with a feature I didn't understand.

Football players don't take over games with sheer dominance. It's just impossible. A simple double-team of 300-lb. men will stop that. Even then, it's the factors that all fell into place that gets a successful running back to a plateau (offensive line, good playcalling, receivers blocking, etc.) or what-have-you. Basketball players can and will take over games with streaks that involve no one else on the court. THAT is why it's considered an individual sport when it comes to the professional game. Your point makes sense if the NFL and NBA were watched by diffferent people. They're not. EDIT: Uniformity is a great point that someone brought up. Ease up on the fines revolving around endzone dances, tributes (Jake Plummer) and uniform violations.

Coming back with Amare and Joe Johnson.

My hopes for first place rely on Gonzaga making the Final Four. Every other conceivable scenario has me falling short by one or two points, or on a select few occasions (Memphis/UCLA in the Elite Eight) getting completely massacred. I have Villanova beating Duke in the championship, which could wash away almost any scenario if were to happen.

You can go straight to the game by...turning on the console. The dashboard is there if you want to exit from the game at any time, but it never boots the dashboard on start-up. This is stuff you'd only do if you had too much time on your hands. You have to log on to the "Marketplace" (reached through the dashboard) and browse through the categories of available skins/themes/colors for your Xbox (which you need to PAY for, anyway). This isn't a tedious process, but the option is so out of the way that a complaint about it is ridiculous. It's as if you're saying that you hate that there's a "Read first reply" option on this forum. Other stuff: parental setting is defaulted at the start, and is not even an option unless you scroll to the page that has the option listed. Choosing an icon comes with the Xbox Live installation, which takes all of two seconds to choose the default picture to represent yourself. It's simply an avatar selection, except that it never comes into play or generates discussion because no one sees it. EDIT: My only real complaints so far are the lack of a game library (expected), and the lack of Xbox Live Arcade games (expected, and slowly being fixed).

Who Gets The Final Money In The Bank Spot?
Fökai replied to Detective Comics's topic in The WWE Folder
Carlito jumps to Smackdown, gets eliminated by Lashley, then jumps back to RAW the following show to build to his tag match. It's perfect, though it involves Carlito losing his MITB shot TWICE, as well as losing his Mania match in terrible fashion. -
For YEARS, I would've said Sam Cassell, but someone has closed in and passed him in the last few seasons, and his name is... Michael Ruffin.

That's because it's not a film and therefore not filmed in widescreen format for theatres. Television shows in widescreen are absolutely ridiculous. The show in a regular picture quality, which is how HD channels usually operate with non-HD capable programming.

Having just seen the ending of the Northwestern State/Iowa game has reaffirmed my love for this tournament. The players were hugging each other on the court on the last in-bound play.

Are you saying they're not inexperienced? How many of them played a role in the team last year?

UConn had a 25-point swing in eleven minutes. At least the Albany coach has enough parties to go to, to drink his sorrows away.
-
You had MSU going over UNC ? Because of UNC's inexperience, yes.
-
I just lost an Elite Eight team in MSU. Fuck.

Motherfucking Nevada. One Sweet Sixteen team gone. Still picked up 13 today, though.

They don't pay for airline tickets. If that were the case, everyone making under $250,000 would be making jacksquat or losing money. --- EDIT: I remember reading Rey's downside guarantee being $75,000 when he signed in 2002. EDIT #2: I distinctly remember Meltzer saying Hogan's XIX pay-off was $250,000, which was the same amount that the other main eventers that night (Vince, Lesnar, Angle, Austin, Rock, HHH, Booker) received as well. Dave probably revised the figures since then, but the idea was that they all split the pot evenly.

Didn't one guy get punched in the face twice? By his own friend who thought he was acting like a baby about the whole thing. And considering how long they've been in the business, the guy should've known this. What wrestler or fan doesn't know that ribbing occurs in this line of work?

Are we currently witnessing the complete and total decay of society?
Fökai replied to spman's topic in General Chat
I know a lady who has eight daughters - one of whom (a pretty responsible teen) who works, while the others are all under 10 years of age - a deadbeat husband and no time for a job. She brings in $1,800 a month in food stamps. The kids couldn't be anymore willing to sacrifice trivial things for thousands of dollars in candy, ice cream and oher stuff. By the way, she also has WIC stamps, which is another $500 a month in dairy products and cereals. Her oldest daughter is also being paid BY THE STATE to babysit the kids on the weekend. The older daughters are old enough to watch the younger ones, so it relegates the mom to simple house chores. I think I'm working in the wrong direction here. -
Sit-down lunch does not equal a cheap lunch. Choose one or the other.

On a side note, ESPN reported that there were BALCO doctors who had proof that claimed that Bonds was paying for and injecting as early as January of 1997, which the authors of the book deny. If accusations are going to be thrown at Bonds with little or no merit, the authors' reputation will be soiled by association.
