  1. Indiana would have to trade someone like Anthony Johnson to get the contracts on the same plane. Even Pacer fans who hate Ron Artest wouldn't make that trade.
  2. Again, considering he CAN'T LIFT ANYTHING out of the ring, Batista should probably be excused from any discussion.

    NFL Week XIV

Marcus Spears running away with the fumble like he stole a pound of bacon from the supermarket.
  4. I'll be here next year. Chicago Cincinnati Tennessee Indianapolis New England Oakland Minnesota Carolina N.Y. Giants Seattle Washington Denver Dallas San Diego Green Bay Atlanta TB: 10
  5. There's a broad line between an opinion and basically asking to start a eight-page thread about how ESPN hypes players. It doesn't matter this year. Reggie Bush, whether you want to believe it or not, is the best player in college football. Vince Young, unfortunately, had to have his finest year when a freak of nature had his.

    Hoff sucks

You know, I'm going to be a fucking hummingbird at 60 when you guys are keeling over because of your goddamn 4x4's and hamdogs. I'm not even a health nut, either. But when you start eating inventions and hybrids of otherwise unhealthy food, put the fucking fork down.
  7. He's probably restricted to anything in the weight room...you know, with his shredded lat muscle and stuff.
  8. They also aired that "Anatomy of a Fix" segment that they aired years ago, passing it off as new content.
  9. If New Japan hadn't booked every gaijin in the last decade as the "unstoppable foreign monster", people would really believe how incredible Lesnar actually is. From the way he came into the business, to how quickly he picked everything up, to the level of workrate he had produced that would take others years to perfect. Instead, he's going to be lost in the scene and unappreciated for his time spent there. I hope I'm wrong.
  10. I wonder what they would've done if Furcal stayed for 4/$36. Instead, they've got Renteria at 3/$20, and may struggle to find a prospect down the line to supplant Chipper (unless there's a guy from A/AA that I'm not aware of). Either way, Betemit is sitting on the bench again.
  11. 1. The three-team with ATL, BOS and TB is dead. The proposal is now between Boston and Atlanta, with just Marte being involved. 2. 3. 4. 5.
  12. The first show was headlined by the guy who played J. Peterman on Seinfeld. Evan Karagias is as A-list as they will get.
  13. Anyone else's head spinning from all of the recent moves and rumors? I can't keep up right now. In that same Globe report, it's saying that the Renteria trade could presumably involve Marte, as well as another player. Guess I'll have to keep my fingers crossed, because I don't see any other guys that Schuerholtz would part with (I figured Marte was safe, you know?). Renteria is only two years removed from a .330/.394/.480 career year where he broke every career mark except for stolen bases (41 in '98, 34 that season). I'll defer to Al on this trade, obviously.
  14. I'm disappointed that asshole1 is MIA.
  15. You can tell that Chavo's so hesitant to hit it full-tilt, risking injury to himself or the opponent, that he's dragging his foot when he's coming down. It's strange to see an older wrestler like him not know how to hit a move properly, especially one that his uncle has used for a decade. That said, his version will continue to suck until he learns to come down on his upper-body.
  16. I just finished watching Wrestling With Shadows again, and one family member is slipping my mind: who is the fourth Hart brother-in-law? I know the other three are Davey Boy, Neidhart and Brakkus.
  17. Point taken on Peja. 2. Fair point, but there are a lot of guys you listed that I doubt would want to move away from a winning situation into a possible one-man team. Dirk, Ben Wallace and Chauncey being three of them. Again, those are player options and team options - there's no guarantee in any of them leaving, but there's guys like Shaquille O'Neal who are willing to leave as long as they're unhappy. They'd be well served to go after a Garnett-caliber player, but with KG, you've got to trade for him, and hey, its not as if the Bulls can say, 'Hey Wolves, you should give up your superstar for Othella Harrington!'. They basically have to go dollar-for-dollar for Garnett, so it'd be an expiring contract (Thomas) and someone like Chandler or a combination of guards. Minnesota, just by trading him, concedes a player that won't be duplicated. I just see Chicago as a mediocre team with a couple of nice bright spots, namely Luol Deng, Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich They also don't have much money invested into their core players - none of them (except for Chandler) is even on a medium-dollar contract, hence why a big addition will put them over the top. One thing though, do you all really think LeBron will switch teams if the Cavs don't make the playoffs? And if so, would he try a bigger market like New York, or settle for a smaller city? The only thing that stopped Kobe and Duncan from Chicago is the amount of money they could offer at the time.
  18. 1. You mention the Bulls not being a good destination for Peja, yet he'd want to step anywhere near Toronto, of all places? 2. Al Harrington, Drew Gooden, Peja, Dunleavy and Wallace. Or they could save up for 2007 and a million other choices, which could include player options like Dirk, Billups, Bibby and Rashard Lewis, or team options like Bosh, Wade, Ridnour and Lebron. They can trade for an unhappy player with an exorbitant contract like Garnett. There are always possibilities when you have money and are willing to spend it, or just have cap room up the wazoo. 3. That trade is really a dream trade for a Pacer fan. If Gordon is reportedly unhappy with his minutes, could you imagine what Tinsley would do? I like the guy, but I don't see how Tinsley fits into their offense or their franchise at all. On the financial side, that's a terrible contract for a GM like Paxson to agree to. Why would he give up Thomas, who has as much value as anyone on their roster, for Tinsley, Johnson (3/$8 mil) and Bender (2/$15 mil)? Uggh.
  19. Pollard's contract, at $6.7 million, expires this year. With Thomas, Robinson, Piatkowski and Pollard coming off of the books, that's $28 million to lure anyone to Chicago. Tinsley has six years and nearly $40 million remaining on his, through 2011. None of the Bulls are contracted past the 2008-2009 season. So yes, I'd value Pollard more.
  20. If there's a Gordon trade in the works, it won't involve moving an huge expiring contract like Thomas. Nor will the Bulls be shafted for talent. A realistic trade involving the two teams would be Gordon and Piatkowski for Pollard and a 1st-rounder or S-Jax and a pick.
  21. So, live betting has the Seahawks at -45, and the Eagles at +40.5 , over at 60.5 and the under at +55.5. Should I take any of them (I'm not watching, on the west coast)?
  22. Since everyone here has a hard-on for every female on the roster, I can only assume that these "faceless, talentless bimbos" are Torrie and Ashley, and that's about it.
  23. Alex Rodriguez, Tom Glavine, Jermaine O'Neal, Rasheed Wallace and Marshall Faulk. The bookends should be highlighted.
  24. The 'Fins couldn't have scored four more points to cover and get me $2,000? Sure, I lost only forty bucks, but that shit runs deep when you're off by one on a six-team parlay.
