190,000 buys + 170,000 buys = a successful month.

Fun fucking game so far. Progress Made? 16.58 Playing Time? 11:29 Days Passed in Game? 54 Mission Attempts? 74 Missions Passed? 26 What's the Last Mission You Beat? Los Seculpros How much money on you right now? 22682. Spent 20K on two other hideouts. Last Dance Score? 9810 (and FUCKING LEGIT). What do you Bench? 320 Total Legit Kills? 320 (heh/) What Haircut? Cesar with goatee. Where do you shop most of the time? No place in general. Use Cheats? No. Use Instruction Guide? I WILL use it for the tags and oysters once I’m done with Los Santos, but until then, no. Anything else you want to brag about? My SMG and AK-47 skill and my status in running the territories.

You can go to either one, just make a choice and it shall be done. Make it Memphis.

According to IGN, the best graphics of any wrestling title ever. I guess that's bad. --The new "elimination meter" for the Rumble, which EVERYONE praised? --A chop system that fleshes out the punch-kickfest from the previous Smackdowns? --Pre-match battles that makes a match as realistic as the current WWE product? --The heel/face meter, which...*gasp*...makes the game even more realistic? Misc. WHAT'S NEW: --Create-A-PPV (eh.) --Create-a-Belt (cool for multiplayer.) --Voiceovers and commentary (eh.) Misc. WHAT'S GONE: --Backstage arena fights in matches (don't care) --Every belt but World, WWE, IC and U.S. removed from career mode (good.) --Alternate attire (sucks for that to happen, but I didn't go past RVD and Rock for second attires in HCTP anyway.) The roster is lighter than last year. (41 to HCTP's 54) Sure, they didn't include La Resistance (the now ex-tag champions), Eugene (don't care) and Maven (don't care), but it's full of nobodies either way. It's not disappointing because of the gameplay, which has considerably improved, but of the disappointments with what THQ and Yukes promised (primaily, the online mode). This is not a step-down in terms of ANYTHING game-wise, but a step-down in terms of progress for THQ, which already has their wrestling license in jeopardy. They're lightyears behind Electronic Arts, who are my hope to get the new license from WWE, but it's not as if they're still putting out the best wrestling product on the market today.

Could Caldwell move to Memphis or New Orleans? Looks like they need a third basemen, regardless of age.

... By the time he was worth anything (1999 and 2000) he was already an injury risk (1997, 1998 and later 2003) and painfully average for a player that would later command $11.6 million in his final two years in Oakland. 1997: Lockhart: .279/.337/.476 in utility role in 96 games played. Tucker: .283/.347/.445/14 HR/56 RBI in 138 games played. Dye: .236/.284/.369/7 HR/22 RBI in 75 games played. 1998: Lockhart: .257/.311/.388 in 109 games played. Tucker:.244/.327/.418/13 HR/46 RBI in 130 games played. Dye:.234/.270/.336/5 HR/26 RBI in 60 games played. Additionally, this is all while the contracts were basically a wash: 1997: Tucker : 250,000 Dye: 175,000 1998: Tucker: 370,000 Dye: 230,000

What I can accurately predict today that will be confirmed for the pay-per-view… Match One: WWE Championship John Bradshaw Layfield © v. Booker T Match Two: Smackdown! Elimination Match Angle, Reigns, Jindrak and Spike Dudley (w/ Buh-Buh and D-Von) v. Guerrero, Van Dam, Mysterio and Show. Match Three: Casket Match The Undertaker v. Heidenreich Match Four: RAW Elimination Match Evolution and “one-time only partner” Edge v. Orton, Jericho, Benoit and Maven Match Five: Intercontinental Title Match Shelton Benjamin© v. Christian Match Six: Women’s Title Match – No Disqualification Match Trish Stratus © v. Lita ------------------------------------- What's left? A. The workers with programs. 1. Dawn (rep’d by champions Suzuki, Dupree) v. Jackie (rep’d by Rico, Haas). 2. Kidman’s respective feuds with Chavo and London. B. The “hot” commodities; they’re of yet to have a program set up for the PPV. They will be on the card, but in what capacity is unknown. 1. Gene Snitsky 2. Carlito Carribbean Cool Here's my idea to flesh out the card... Match Seven: Smackdown! Elimination Match #2 Carlito, Kidman, Suzuki and Dupree (with Hiroko, Dawn Marie and CCC’s bodyguard) v. Chavo, London, Rico and Haas (with Jackie and Torrie) Idea: Each feud seems to blend together, while Carlito hasn’t found a solid program yet. The WWE could find his next opponent in this match, then extend that until Cena rolls around. Match Eight: RAW Elimination Match #2 Gene Snitsky, Garrison Cade, La Resistance (w/ Bischoff and Coach) V. Eugene, Regal, Rosey and Hurricane. Idea: Have Snitsky squash them all with little effort expended by teammates? EDIT: The last two matches are open to suggestions.

Tonight's Hawaii/Boise State game will be interesting, for a number of reasons: --Hawaii seems to be Boise's last remaining "toughie" on their schedule. --QB Timmy Chang could break the NCAA passing record (needs 241) --Umm...you get to see 150+ points put up in a football game?
-
Agreed with the sentiments already echoed in this thread, but in my case it's already taken its toll on my record. I have no desire to see a game between New Mexico State and North Texas, yet they were the matchup that cost me a victory last week.
-
Both the Mets and Braves were eager to offer $20 million a year. Your point stays the same, but I just wanted to make the point that the Braves COULD'VE had Rodriguez, if Boras didn't convince Texas to bid $50 million over the next team. Don't know how I feel about that situation personally, though.

They're 4th in the computer rankings, so although the highest and lowest comp. rankings are thrown out, they probably had a few 5's. AP: 1. USC 2. Oklahoma 3. Auburn 4. Miami 5. Florida State 6. Wisconsin 7. California 8. Texas USA/ESPN: 1. USC 2. Oklahoma 3. Miami 4. Auburn 5. Florida State 6. Wisconsin 7. Georgia 8. California COMPUTER: 1. Miami 2. USC 3. Auburn 4. Oklahoma 5. Utah 6. Arizona State 7. Florida State 8. Texas A&M The BCS standings, broken down number by number.

Try the Royal Rumble 2001 DVD.

We need to highlight this statement by Al. From the looks of it, the Yankee fans take a glance at teams like the Expos, Pirates, Tigers and Royals and expect their rebuilding process to mirror these teams. When are THESE teams hoping to succeed, and with what talent? The fact is, the Yankees, even if they dump a few contracts, can still win with their building blocks (Rodriguez, Posada and Jeter) while bolstering their pitching staff, adding depth to the bench and building the farm system back up. There's no need to have signed the Giambis and Sheffields of the world when a suitable replacement and a strong role player can be had in their place.

Even with a good guess by Nick, there's no way he would've predicted anything close to what KC's putting up today...

Cute stuff. Thank you for taking a thread I didn't mention (and actually enjoyed reading) to create your joke. Anyway, I'm just wondering why these threads were eliminated, yet the ones I mentioned (including the classic "What the fuck is wrong is the Yankees?" thread) went unscathed. Nonetheless, the whole argument of worthless threads is moot, especially since the enactment of forcing guests to register to access the forum eliminated the need for thread pruning in the first place (read this thread for proof).

(looks at post below) Damn you KKK.

A big hearty round of applause goes to the moderator who deleted the OaO Raw Thread from the episode where Bischoff debuted, as well as the Wrestlemania XX thread. Thankfully, we still have these topics archived... --41 pages of last year's NCAA college football season. --76 to last year's Fantasy Basketball season. --80 to last year's MLB offseason. --189 to the show Angel. --68 to a thread of TSM members' pictures, which is now full of dead links. --A few of the Classic Threads (i.e. "APO Sucks", 67 to the "Establishment" and 41 to a Russian girl). ...just to name a few. Yet, we couldn't keep threads devoted to two of the most surreal moments in wrestling history. Thanks guys. (P.S. Don't ban me.)

It's her regular band - I recognized the Hawaiian guy who I've met before.
-
The vocals didn't start on the Oregon feed; from the video posted on the blog DH provided, the lyrics were there.

She covered up the fact that she lip-synched. Which is the better scenario for her publicist? 1. Ashlee apologizes for lip-synching, media attacks her. 2. Ashlee blames it on her band, made it look like they pulled a prank; media outlets could fall for it. It's not going to hurt their stock as legitimate musicians - they're backing up Ashlee Simpson, for crying out loud.
-
They spun the West Coast feed to attempt and make the band look like they pulled a prank on Ashlee. There's too many ways for Ashlee's PR to spin this, even if it is true. I don't know if it's normal or not, but they also synched the band playing behind her, which made them look like complete jackasses as she walked off the stage, leaving them grinning like idiots to cover up the tape.

Yeah. Looked like they worded it wrong - he missed the writers' meeting.
