    NFL PRESEASON

What does he have to do to "live up" to the hype? The hype is there is because he's an all-pro cornerback (with two SB rings), in an elite class of defensive backs in NFL history, that's coming out of retirement to add support to the best defense in the league. Deion's not a injury-prone fourth year quarterback with every sportswriter in the United States wedging their head up his rectum. THAT would be Michael Vick.
  2. Yes and we need to see the cheese shredder, frying pans, staple gun, and the rest of the plunder that New Jack brought to the ring in the trash can. Hell it can be one of the Spike & New Jack vs the Dudley matches. Here's a few good reasons why they were/are being omitted from the "extra matches" section, just off the top of my head: 1. None of their matches had any historical significance to be singled out. 2. Neither wrestler was/ or is affiliated with the WWE, where they could therefore shed light on the matches they've done. 3. Neither wrestler simply wasn't any good. 4. Other wrestler(s) did that match, and frankly did it better. 5. Most of these matches would be too violent to show on an WWE release, without getting people up in arms.
  3. 1. Doesn't Douglas own the rights to the ECW matches he's participated in? If so, that'd answer everyone's questions. 2. Does the WWE own the entire ECW library? I know that they can't use Joey Styles' name or commentary without his permission, so the area there is pretty shady.
  4. Can they actually SHOW Born To Be Wired? And c'mon people - I can understand why there's complaints about no Awesome/Tanaka or Cactus matches (even though most of his important ECW stuff is on his 2-disc set), but do we really need to see Candido, Balls Mahoney, Axl Rotten and New Jack again?
  5. Doh. I completely blanked on the fact that there is an order for tiebreakers (#1, #2, #3, #4). I understand now why we're going to that tiebreaker.
  6. Can I say "thank you" and not make it look like I'm just raising my post count? Umm....GO BRAVES!
  7. Can you go into more detail on why that is?
  8. Any in-depth information on those Philly call-ups, Al?
  9. Spoiler text... After the break another video aired of Carlito Cool. This one of him taking some man's cell phone and talking on it and when then man asks for it back Carlito replies "Can't you see I'm on the phone?" and saying that the guy isn't cool like him.
  10. ::reads spoilers:: Wow, another episode of Smackdown that I won't watch*. *Granted, I don't actually have UPN on my provider, but who cares at this point...
  11. Anyone see London turning on Kidman in the near future, due to how Kidman has second thoughts using the SSP? Keep going with the angle that it's costing London in the long run (getting pinned, being attacked by Heidenreich post-match, eventually losing the titles).
  12. If the stable/group doesn't have a collective moniker or gimmick, there will be no comparisons being drawn to Evolution. If they loosely link together to protect the others from harm, they will serve a purpose - their common enemy right now is Chris Jericho. Past examples of groups like this: --Benoit. TBS, Edge, Christian and Shane. --Edge, Christian and Rhyno. --Edge, Christian, Angle and Rhyno. --Mack, Nowinski, Jazz, Teddy Long. --Mack, Henry, Jazz, Teddy Long. Just to name a few.
  13. He's saved her from a multi-woman beatdown on a few occasions.
  14. ...at least you're assuming that. It doesn't mean he is for sure. However, he's still a heel, Jericho's now officially a total face (rather than the tweener he seemed to be for a bit), Trish hasn't really had any part in major angles, and nobody gives a damn about Tomko. So maybe they'll pair them up again, but they haven't done so on TV, so maybe they'll forget about it and just play up the "are they in cahoots?" thing with Edge and forget about Trish and Tomko. So the return of the "On Your Own Theme" may or may not be appropriate, depending on what they do from here. Of course, if I missed a part of Raw where Christian met up with Tomko and Trish, then my bad, but I didn't see anything like that. I'd imagine, that with how they left off with the Edge/Jericho angle last night, Christian will re-join the Tomko/Trish group and wait for Edge to join them down the road. In my mind, Tomko's true purpose on the RAW brand is to be the "bodyguard" that he's been playing for the last few months. With Edge and Christian leading the group with Trish and Tomko in their current roles, you have the potential of a great stable.
  15. Judging from the highlights of today's game, Tony Batista has etched his name in the Webster's Dictionary for the definition of "unmotivated". In all five at-bats, the pitcher was just lobbing the pitches to the other side of the plate, but Batista remained in his stance and just swung with one hand, striking out in each at-bat. That was just a disgusting performance. Seriously, people need to see the highlights of this game (about 15 minutes into tonight's SportsCenter).
  16. The Blazers want ANOTHER two-guard? What, did they schedule the AND-1 team as their opponents for the entire season when no one was looking?
  17. Why would Christian need new theme music? --He's still attached to Trish and Tomko. --The theme song is instantly recognizable, with that heavy riff at the beginning. --The titantron is PERFECTLY synched with the theme itself. Out of the wrestlers that I think need a new theme, I'd go with: Rey Mysterio. Victoria. La Resistance OR Dupree (one needs to differentiate itself from the other). Edge. Undertaker (how about the remix he used in late 1998?)
  18. Eh. I felt that my statement on Jordan was the weakest point of my argument, anyway. I'll ask for raz to respond to the other points of my post, though.
  19. But similar to Lesnar's case, Miller was serious about making the team. After participating in the Raptors' and Hornets' training camps, then failing to make the Nuggets' permanent summer squad, he moved on to the CBA. Yes, and for a player who hadn't played an inning since high school, he contributed pretty well to the Barons. Mosts team were just scared off by his lack of experience. Both Tony Dungy and Mike Tice were amazed at his speed (4.6) and strength (26 reps at 225) in comparison to his size. Additionally, the Vikings encouraged him to keep practicing, because he has a chance at making the practice squad. And even if THAT falls through, Tice encouraged him to hone his craft in NFL Europe. But he IS serious and he DID think he had a decent chance. Do you realize the amount of guaranteed money he gave up leaving the WWE?
  20. He did last night...and there was no intricate dance sequence during the song to excuse that. I don't really know the relationship between water and electricity, but I don't think the stage hands would allow him to sing into a live microphone while he was being FLOODED with water.

    Hey Loss...

That .gif, coupled with KJ's Last Stand™, have just made my day.
  22. 1) The WWE product is better now than it was one year ago. True. 2) The WWE product is better now than it was three years ago. False. 3) The WWE product is better now than it is five years ago. True. The product in late 1999 was just absolutely HORRIBLE. 4) I believe the in-ring product has improved in the last three years. Debatable. 5) I believe the storylines/feuds/angles have improved in the last three years. True, almost based entirely on the the rise to championship status of Eddie, Benoit and Orton. 6) I wish WCW and ECW were still in existence. False. Both promotions dug their own grave, and should lie in it. 7) The WWE will have no real competition in the next five years. False. 8) It was smart for the WWE to go to a "less is more" in ring style. True. 9) I believe the RAW brand is superior to Smackdown. True, but this fact has been shifting back and forth every few months. 10) If I could convince Vince Macmahon to push one guy on either roster to the moon, it would be: On the upper tier of the roster, it'd be Kane. On the lower tier, Sean Morley.
  23. That's a moot point anyway, because all three automatically forgoes singing live to do the dance routines. As a matter of fact, these three artists have the most intricate dance sequences out of all current performers (sans Timberlake), so it's a lot to ask of them to both sing and dance to the equivalency of their music videos.
  24. I'd buy it simply for the Queen performance. I've only seen clips and reviews of current artists just raving over their set in Wembley, so this is going to be must-buy if (and when) it comes to the States.
  25. With work and all, I'm trying my best to pay as much attention to the Braves until we roll in mid-September. By then, I will be intently watching each and every game. I'd like to say that the team has a great chance of making the World Series, but they just have to focus on improving their weaknesses (middle relief) before the NLDS.
