  1. and Tommy Dreamer with "Man In the Box"....I picture him doing one of those Raven poses....
  2. It teaches kids 'greed is good' and then rewards them with sugar laden cereal.
  3. Here's what I've been thinking of trying to do. There's a promotion out of St Louis called Gateway Championship Wrestling that I've been going to for almost a year. So,in my own way of trying to get their name out and their talent out to more people, if anybody is interested in any GCW tapes to check them out (and hopefully help expose them to even more people along the way,you traders), email me. I can send you a tape list of what I have. I have about 35 shows with match listings and I usually pick up a 2-4 per live show I go to. Sorry,I don't have a site to put a link to.
  4. My game keeps crashing. The other day I was playing games in my career mode. I'm 60 games into year 2007. I played three games fine and then in the fourth game,it crashed. After three more attempts, the game crashes at random times during the games. The disc is a bit beat up so I'm thinking 'replace the disc'. $4.99 at Wal Mart...no big deal. That didn't solve it. I've deleted things to free up memory. I think I've installed an updated driver. I've shut down everything but explorer and systray. It says my open resources are over 70%. So,anybody more computer saavy than I give me any help?
  5. So in a few months,Eddie gets a new mamacita and does a mixed tag feud with Rico and Jackie! I think they're on different shows but that could change easily.
  6. Brad Armstrong was NWA National heavyweight champion sometime around 1982 or 83. I believe he beat Ted DiBiase thanks to a distraction from Tommy Rich. He was also UWF tag champ with Tim Horner as the Lightning Express. I think they were National tag champs as well in Georgia.
  7. Hey,who let baseball and football in here? Kidding..it just ended up being hockey dominated Another name for the hockey batch......Igor Larionov
  8. Here's one that most people will dismiss but it's a thought. Chris Osgood Now,at this point,no he wouldn't be a HOFer but I got to thinking while watching the Blues vs Wild replay so I looked up his stats. He's 31 years old,has 291 career wins and 40 shutouts and two Cups (although one as Vernon's backup in 97). He probably has at least another 5 years so he could possibly hit 450 career wins if the Blues remain a good team. If he wins a Cup in St Louis and hits over 400 wins, would he be a lock? And if he doesn't win a Cup there, does that just make him borderline?
  9. I can't believe I forgot those three. And I agree with you about all three. Stevens and Robitaille=in Housley..borderline I feel like there's someone else I've forgotten........
  10. I hope Killer gets in. Don't know for sure if he will but I really liked him so I'd be happy for him. If he had won a Cup with Toronto,he'd be a lock.....heck, Wade Belak would almost be a lock if he scored a Cup clinching goal for Toronto at this point. Dino Ciccarelli didn't make it in yet,did he? He should be if he's not.
  11. I consider Mike Richter at a Doug Gilmour level. Good not great. Won a championship but gained good stats cause they stayed around forever. In his long career, I think he only had 30 wins twice. Richter is probable but I don't think he's a lock.If he wasn't American,I'm not sure he'd even be probable.
  12. Swap Andreychuk in for Richter and your "lock" list is set. Although Chelios will and Nick Lidstrom will be locks as well. Brendan Shanahan would be a strong borderline,at least, as would Modano and Nieuwendyk. Most of your borderline guys ,I would actually vote 'no' at this point but likely assuming they stay on their current career paths. Except Fleury,Roberts and Nolan. No way. But I think most of the true contenders have been listed by now.
  13. Does anybody else see the irony in Patrick being the one to begin the Raw thread? Anyway, I almost wouldn't mind if they gave Lawler to Orton. Lawler can still work.....maybe not like he used to......but he can. Lawler is still over huge in Memphis and the south so ,as was noted earlier, Orton beating Lawler would probably get him heat for a night anyway and just maybe make Orton look decent. And I'd rather see Orton vs Lawler then all the "heard-them-all-before" Austin promos we'll probably get. And it would fit the Legend Killer gimmick since Lawler is a legend in Memphis. And if it sucks, I won't be watching anyway because of work.
  14. They just announced a show for Friday today??? I won't be there. Too short notice.
  15. Why does nobody seem to like the Sabres current jersey? I like them quite a bit.
  16. San Jose? Haven't they drawn good crowds for pretty much their entire existence?
  17. Oh ok thanks. I knew I read it somewhere. I just got my dvds mixed up.
  18. Tommy Young in the NWA was King of the Ref Bump. I really liked his referee style but he got knocked down/out/from the ring in practically every big match he was in it seemed. It is lazy booking and kinda annoyingly frustrating at times.
  19. I bought the dvd yesterday and spent the new year watching 1985. Anyway,I thought there was supposed to be an egg with clips from Flair vs Garvin in Detroit? Am I missing it or is it not there after all?
  20. For me,I'd have to throw Garvin's win over Flair for the NWA title on the list. But I'm biased because I was 2nd row for it and it was pretty exciting at the time to get to see a NWA world title change in Detroit.
  21. Would it be a viable idea to move them around? Why couldn't they run a small southern circuit from Nashville to Memphis to even St Louis or Little Rock. It is conveinient that they don't move around but it would give them a fresher tv crowd that isn't used to seeing them on a weekly basis.
  22. Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes on the same side goes against some sort of wrestling physics law, doesn't it?
  23. Regarding the thread title....Rhodes relates the same story about Flair in his RF shoot.
  24. So,this isn't the WWE's 50 best of all time but wrestling,in general? There's no way Terry Funk,Luger, Masked Superstar, or Lawler would be on the list based on their work in the WWF/E.
  25. That was me and if you want to send those two events to me,I'll watch them. ROH crowds might give the "pure wrestling" more leeway but I've seen too many indy crowds these days that chant "boring" and make sarcastic comments like " I love rest holds" at 30 second arm bars and sit quietly through chain wrestling. They give it a pop when it's done and the wrestlers are back on their feet at a stalemate but you can't give them much more than that because that's when they will start to shit on it. Most crowds don't have the patience for it anymore. I guess it depends how they are going to define pure wrestling. The term to me brings up collegiate wrestling which means no aerial maneuvers. That's where they're going to lose people's interest. Forgive my skepticism.
