Is this Classic Thread-worthy yet?

I feel the same way about Sting for next week.
-
Duggan's Mid-South stuff is pretty good and he was over off the charts in that territory. And he was a fun brawler.Plus I've met him twice and he came across as a pretty friendly guy. That said....I can't believe he was the surprise. And as far as I know, Jimmy Hart never managed him. Unless......did Hogan and Duggan ever team when they were in WCW around 1994?
-
they don't win at home either true but they usually seem to be more competitive at home. If it was in Detroit...I'd give the Lions a chance to pull off the shocker........in KC.....nope.

The Lions don't win on the road...and usually look shitty doing it.

Zack,in case you haven't already.....check your PMs -
Rotundo was a face for the first few years of his career up till the Varsity Club. Yeah, I would think it's a bit premature to be mentioning guys that have only been around the last 4-5 years or so. Out of the Von Erichs, I'm pretty sure David was a heel in a brief stint in Florida in the early 80's. I would put an asterik next to anybody who did a turn as an announcer. Somebody like Rude, who did the face bit in ECW, wasn't an active wrestler at that point in his career. I would think the topic question would apply to those that actually wrestled a regular schedule. How long was Bobby Heenan an active wrestler before he became a manager?
-
Kevin Sullivan,I believe was a face early on in his career. He was also briefly a face in the Florida territory after Oliver Humperdink threw a fireball at him and he teamed some with Blackjack Mulligan against Oliver's Army. After he became the Ultimate Warrior,he was never heel again but he was a heel with Sting as the Blade Runners and a heel early on in World Class before Buzz Sawyer and Matt Borne attacked him after a 6 man tag. I think......not definite on this one.....Rude was briefly a face in Memphis but I don't think he ever was after he became a more nationally known wrestler. Steamboat is the only one I can think of that never wrestled as a heel. Actually,if going back to the older days....... Did Bruno ever wrestle heel? Was Stan Hansen ever a face? Junkyard Dog a heel? Tito Santana a heel? Iron Shiek a face? Kevin or Kerry Von Erich a heel? Ivan Putski a heel?

This just never goes completely away.....

Frank Booth ....Blue Velvet.....'nuff said.

Chaz Wesson Nobody but the GCW faithful know him but I figured I'd throw him in. -
Is there any chance it's Savage? If nothing else,he'd get somemore exposure to hype his cd.
-
With all the big name indy talent that ROH uses, how can they make profit from 450 paid? I would think they'd need more. Or is a good chunk of it tape sales?
-
Good piece......I took an interest because of the GCWers in Wildside to read the review. If it's ok,I'd like to at least put the Daizee Haze praise on GCW's board or at least the link.
-
Yeah he did in the Memphis territory in the early 80's, I believe. It's odd to see a hype video for AJ and TNA on another channel and then log on a couple hours later and see that Triple J regained the belt again....

And a couple noteworthy things to add to the lineups for the weekend....... Upcoming Show cards Name: David Rogers Friday night at Overland's Wild Acers Gym, 2500 Ashby Rd at the corner of Ashby and Midland. GCW will be holding *WRESTLING for a CAUSE* due to the tragic loss of Garry Hunot and Ali Steinger both died September 12 th in a motorcycle accident, leaving their children in a financial mess, so GCW is doing this show as a fundraiser to help them out . There will be donation cups set out and your donations will be greatly appreciated. November 14th will be a landmark show for GCW at the Overland's Wild Acers Gym. GCW will be holding it's 100th house show. In this show we would like to make this a fan appreciation show. where the fans suggest matches that they'd like to see again and matches that they'd like to see and maybe GCW has over look it. We will be taking suggesting up till next Wednesday. It's not every promotion that claim to be putting on their 100th show and we our proud that our fans have kept us going this long and we would like to keep it going, so let the suggestions fly. David Rogers www.gatewaywrestling.com I'm gonna try to get to Overland on the 14th. I hope. -
Even the Bees vs Volkoff and Shiek had a purpose....it got a fairly recently debuted Hacksaw Duggan even more over than he was.
-
Not because they lost.......the Devils had a very good team......but the Wings just completely falling apart in the 1995 finals would be my worst. But in a way,it made 97 and 98 that much sweeter.
-
Darren McCarty gliding past Janne Niinimma and Ron Hextall and scoring what proved to be the Wings 1997 Cup winning goal. Along with that..getting to see Steve Yzerman hoist the Cup for the first time in his career. And the next year when it was presented to Vladimir Konstantinov.

Damn...now I really wish I was going to Overland Friday.........but since I called in 2 Fridays ago I guess I better not skip again..... DeSoto....Nikki vs Delirious pt 3.....how many times can they screw with this? We've had 2 clusterf**ks so far. Harsh, yes, and decent matches but my expectations were higher considering who were involved. Overland looks like the better of the two shows. I'll have to buy that tape. -
I hope to meet him next weekend. He's supposed to be at Harley Race's WLW shows in Missouri Friday and Saturday.
-
Too many of the people I watched when I first started watching wrestling are leaving way too soon. Rest well,Hawk And it's not about how they lived their personal lives. It's respecting what he did for his career to entertain people like us.
-
Benoit as World champ Bret would have been my first choice but I have this nagging feeling that Vince would heel up and fuck up the moment.
-
I was there....there was a lot of f'n people. It seems like I remember the Silverdome capacity as being around 80,000 and then add the chairs on the field.......I'd believe 93,000 before 78,000.

Alyson Hannigan getting NBC show
Slingshot Suplex replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
I kinda liked the first season of Jesse but then it went straight into Hell. I was kinda referring to Christina Applegate....a high end supporting cast member of a show....getting her own lead like Hannigan will be. And getting a decent supporting cast around her.
