  1. One of the saddest aspects is that ,in the end,it was all done for the gratuitous Austin pop.
  2. Maybe it'll be like Christina Applegate's Jesse. But with hopefully better writing and a much less wooden love interest.
  3. If he can cope with the mental/emotional aspects of the incident,he'll be back in the league within 3 seasons..probably next season. And he'll eventually return to being a top level player.
  4. I'd definitely give it a chance. If I don't like it,I'll throw a Buffy DVD in.
  5. Legal experts: Heatley could avoid jail time in fatal accident By MARK NIESSE, Associated Press Writer October 13, 2003 ATLANTA (AP) -- Atlanta Thrashers hockey player Dany Heatley probably won't spend a day in jail for the car wreck that led to the death of teammate Dan Snyder, some legal experts say. Because Heatley wasn't drunk and Snyder's relatives say they forgive him, prosecutors could decide the car crash was just an accident, with no need to pursue felony charges and sentences ranging from three to 15 years. ``If the family says that they do not want to press charges, and if there are no drugs or alcohol involved, there's a good chance that the state will not prosecute or that they will work out some sort of plea agreement,'' Camilla Watson, a criminal law professor at the University of Georgia, said Monday. Snyder was riding in Heatley's Ferrari when it spun out of control on a narrow road in Atlanta and slammed into a wall Sept. 29. He died six days later, and Heatley was charged with felony vehicular homicide. Heatley, free on $50,000 bond, also faces four misdemeanors. ``After we complete the investigation, we will make a decision on what charges, if any, to present to the grand jury,'' said Erik Friedly, a spokesman for the district attorney. ``There's always a possibility that during the investigation it can be determined that charges aren't appropriate.'' It's unknown exactly how fast Heatley was driving, what caused the accident or if there was a defect in the road or car, said Heatley's attorney, Don Samuel. He said reports that put Heatley's speed at 80 mph are ``unreliable.'' ``I don't know that any sentence at all is appropriate because it isn't determined that he committed any crime,'' Samuel said. ``It's too early to predict what the final outcome would be.'' Test results showed Heatley consumed a small amount of alcohol before the crash. His blood alcohol content was less than 0.015, far below the state's legal limit of 0.08. Heatley, last season's All-Star MVP, was injured in the crash and is out indefinitely. He broke his jaw and tore two ligaments in his knee. As Snyder was buried Friday in his hometown of Elmira, Ontario, his parents said they don't blame Heatley for his death. Those factors could contribute to a decision to let Heatley off the hook or for prosecutors to grant a plea agreement with a sentence of community service, said Robert Pugsley, a criminal law professor at Southwestern University in Los Angeles. ``This may be treated as an accident, and I would not be surprised if the district attorney did not proceed,'' he said. ``It's a really tough call, and it depends on the district attorney's determination of if famous people need to be reined in or are getting away with too much.''
  6. Wrestling.....the actual in-ring match....is what should be the entertainment. Storylines and angles are supposed to enhance it and give the matches more depth. Somewhere in all of this, there is irony.
  7. Even after shows,I've noticed that they even call each other by their ring names.
  8. John Buccigross is picking the Blues to win the Cup? Now that I'm down here I'd like to see it just to see if anyone in Missouri notices or any of the papers outside of metro SL report it. And Barry....if you HAVE to cater to an east coast team.....at least cater to a decent one.
  9. I hadn't thought of that...but you're right.
  10. As a Wings fan, I'm really curious to see the Ducks/Stars game tonight. Sergei in a different jersey is gonna be strange.
  11. "AF'NO this Friday: Diamond Back Dingo vs. "Dingo Hater", GCW Champion Nikki Strychnine vs. Delirious, OuTtKaSt vs. Billy McNeil vs. Mike Sharona vs. C.J. McManus" Hopefully,we get a one on one match out of these two this time. Last time,it broke out into that 3 team,9 person elimination match......which was good but I was really anticipating Nikki vs Delirious. Remember...card subject to change. OuTtkast vs Billy should be good. What happens if we get a swerve and Dingo Hater is not revealed...ala Black Scorpion?
  12. Thanks bps. Now I get it
  13. Do you call a year long match up vs La Resistence a good thing? Considering the state of the tag division......maybe. But the Dudleys have been one of the more prominantly featured teams in the WWE for years winning multiple tag titles. I'd say that's a decent push.
  14. Are the Dudleys the only exception to the ECW holddown?
  15. Vince doesn't hate Ryhno then...he hates Heyman and Rhyno takes the fall for it.....
  16. Wouldn't banning the belly to belly leading next to the spine buster? This should be a thread of it's own.........like a word association thread.......start with a move to be banned and then the next person name a similar move which would be banned next.
  17. I haven't ordered NWA in months but I'm curious. If Jarrett has a set title shot for Oct 22,why is he pissed at Rhodes? Because he doesn't want to potentially face him or just because he's getting a title shot before him?
  18. *bump* because I was the originator (ahaha!) and so that if my Dingo Hater prediction holds up,it'll be quickly reachable for proof.
  19. If the draft is Thursday afternoon, how does that affect games played Wednesday?
  20. If it was just the playoffs,in regards to Anaheim, then maybe the fluke case would apply. But if my memory is correct, didn't the Ducks as a team have a very good 2 nd half of the regular season last year? Something like 5th best record or so? And screw Berard? The Bruins walked away from HIM. Show the man a little respect from what he came back from.
  21. I still might scam out of work to go but now that I Quit 2 is off,I'm a little less inclined to. Plus with the tv taping the next day, I'd probably get a room up that way rather than driving 2 hours back home and then driving 2 hours back up there 12 hours later. Cause that would just be dumb. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MooniemaniaGCW
  22. The Fourth Reich or Diabolic Khaos
  23. You could have just used the classic "Thank you, sir." I would never think of calling a wrestler that I didn't have some sort of personal familiarity with by their real name. Heck, there's three or four in GCW that I do know their names and I've still never done it. I don't even use their real names in conversations with other wrestlers about them. For example, if I happened to be talking to MsChif after a show about Delirious....I would always refer to him as Delirious despite the fact that I know his real name from trading a couple emails with him.
  24. Smartass post of the week
  25. This will lead to a Shane vs Steph feud. Angle: Steph can't have a baby so she directs HHH to attack Shane. First PPV match: HHH is pinned by Shane after Marissa brings the baby to ringside and distracts Hunter. 2nd PPV match: mixed tag match that HHH/Steph win by forcing a 'tied up in the ropes' Shane to submit as Marissa is about to be hit by a sledgehammer.(Kinda channeled visions of Hennig/Flair/War Games and Baby Doll/Dusty/Cornette for that one) 3rd PPV match....baby stipulation match ..ie..Baby On A Pole/Winner Gets Baby.... HHH wins by using the baby as a foreign object (like a title belt would be) Instant classic for heel heat but smarks frown on the feud because the baby didn't sell well and pretty much used it's promo time to cry and drool on JR.
