  1. Well said. I'd rather the fans cheer for or boo who the like instead of being brainwashed by the WWE. Besides, it created a more interesting atmosphere. In regards to the entrances, I actually thought they were kinda cool, even though some of them were a littlle weird. This was "a little weird"?

Rey had a easier time to cover up the botch since it was early in the match and he could still leap up and kick Angle, you can just argue that Rey let go of the post because he had too much momentum. Mickie's botch came at the finish and although Mickie did a good job of using her character to lessen the damage it was still a damper. I don't think it hurt the match and I'm glad they didn't try to redo the spot.
  3. I said this eariler, but I'm really pissed the incompetent fools calling the match completely ignored the real story of the match, and hopefully they rectify it tonight. The story started out that way, but by the point of WM, it was Vince wanting to torture Shawn for NOT going down that road with Vince again. When Shawn finally did revert, he did in spite of Vince, not for him. The real story of the match was the match they were announcing, not that Shawn was reverting. The post-show interview indicates that he is sticking with the edgy slant, rather then him reverting out of spite just for that night. The story was telling that after all the pushing from McMahon and all his shit, he still managed to break Shawn down and lured that old Shawn out.
  4. Rock, isn't coming back. If he were, he wouldn't work Michaels anyways. I said it eariler but I'll say it again... Batista/Angle needs to be the Mania match for SD. Mysterio is dropping the title to Orton, probably on the summer SNME and thats about when Batista returns. Batista and Orton has already been teased and that probably should be the SummerSlam program and Batista goes over and gets title reign #2. I would continue to book Batista as they were before he was injured. An ass-kicking machine who cant be beaten. TBS/Kane, one of them probably ends up on Smackdown after the annual draft. Batista will work a revenge angle with them after the Orton program. Mysterio should resume his role as Batista's little buddy, and keep insisting that he wants a title shot. Batista, won't give it to him because they are good friends and he can't control the animal inside the ring and doesn't want to hurt Rey. Rey, finally gets a title shot at Batista @ Survivor Series. It's built that Mysterio takes Batista to the limit but he couldn't beat Batista's power and strength and there's no heel turn or anything. A straight up respect angle built around a David V. Goliath angle. This is where you start Angle/Batista build up. Angle, probably will work Rey the next couple of months. I would give Angle time off to rest and not to burn out his matches. Angle, returns at Survivor Series to participate in a elimination match. Who is involved in the match doesn't matter. Angle, goes over beating 3 men at once. So Angle is looking strong and Batista is on a roll. The obvious collision is bound to occur. It's a simple story of "Who is the best?" The Animal Vs The Wrestling Machine. Kurt, doesn't need the rumble victory as Raw will probably have it next year. Raw, probably will have Triple H against Carlito. I'm convinced by this August, Carlito will be very over and will probably get another IC title reign and that'll carry over into a program with the champ (HHH) for Mania. We have no clue who'll get called up by WWE and who won't be with the company next year, so making WM23 card predictions is stupid. The bottom line is? They can't sit on their asses and wait until 6 weeks to start building the matches, especially the main events.

  6. I could never get into South Park. Yeah, they had some good episodes and good points on things but I never could take it seriously enough to follow it, much less collect the show on DVD. John Candy, is the shit. Uncle Buck, is a tremendous movie and it's shame that Candy's last movie was that piece of shit movie with Richard Lewis (Wagon's East).

    After Mania...

I'm pissed. I was so sure I would write some scathing review about tonights PPV. That won't happen, because it delivered to an extent. I'll post my original predictions before writing up my reaction to the show... TBS/Kane Vs Carlito/Masters Winner: Carlito and Masters (DQ) Time: 5:30 Rating: *1/4 Actual result Winner: Kane and TBS Time: 6:00 Rating: *1/4 Thoughts -A pretty short squash match. I was expecting them to extend this feud out another month for Backlash but they went ahead and had the champs squash the challengers with ease. I'm not sure if it was the best choice for opener but the crowd was feeling it and Carlito, is bound for a face turn sooner or later. Money in the Bank Winner: Flair Time: 18:00 Rating:***3/4 Actual result Winner: RVD Time: 12:00 Rating:***1/4 Thoughts -This was your basic spotfest ladder match. It hardly had anything memorable that'll be spotlighted for years to come, but the crowd was all for RVD and RVD showed up. Shelton avoid the botchy jitters for the big stage and probably was the highlight reel, once again with his springboard onto the ladder being the most memorable. I was expecting Flair to win, only because of the promo he cut last week. RVD, was the only other legitimate choice and probably, the right choice. Batista's brief cameo interupting Orton's promo looked to set up Orton/Batista, where Orton will probably be the champion by the time Batista returns this summer. Chris Benoit Vs JBL Winner: JBL Time: 13:50 Rating: ***3/4 Actual result Winner: JBL Time: 9:00 Rating:**1/2 Thoughts -Incredibly rushed as this match needed another 5-8 minutes. I was expecting this to steal the show and it didn't. It was a passable Smackdown or lower-tier ppv match, but not WM. I was disapointed to see JBL resort to mocking Eddie for cheap heat. The good news is that JBL is carrying the title, he should have held all along. Hard-Core Match: Edge Vs Mick Foley Winner: Edge Time: 13:00 Rating:**3/4 Actual result Winner: Edge Time: 15:00 Rating:***3/4 Thoughts -I was expecting a paint by number effort by Foley and I was wrong to underestimate him again. I still think the build for this match was horrid but they delivered on this match. Foley using the wrap-around barb-wire was a nice touch as they incorporated the usual (tacks, stairs, barbie) but the match was still stiff but not contrived. Lita, looked really good and I enjoyed her efforts tonight as the barbed wire socko was gusty to take and the bleeding from the mouth was a good visual. Foley, did a excellent blade job as he looked like Two-Face Harvey with the crimson mask convering only the left side of his face. Expected finish but it was hardly an unimpressive sight. Foley, delivered his best WM performance and is something to be proud of. Now stay home, Foley and just blog. The T's segment in the hall was gold, I really can't add anything else to that statement. Booker and Sharmell are a very consistant comedy duo and they deserve better then what came after this, we also need more Booker/Goldust reunions. It's also great to see Dibiase getting air time again. Boogeyman Vs The T's Winner: Boogeyman Time: 3:45 Rating:*1/4 Actual result Winner: Boogeyman Time: 5:00 Rating: DUD Thoughts -Booker T deserved better, although I'm glad he gets a WM paycheck. This was expectedly bad and probably worse then bad. One of the worse Mania matches ever. Thankfully, Boogeyman is injured and likely isn't working matches for a bit of time. Trish Stratus Vs Mickie James Winner: Mickie James Time: 8:20 Rating:**1/4 Actual result Winner: Mickie James Time: 9:00 Rating:***3/4 Thoughts -No, seriously. This was an excellent match that completely went beyond my expecations. Easily, the best woman's match in WWE in years. The heat was incredible for a woman's match and Mickie completely shined in the spotlight. Maybe the high rating was because the woman's stuff is rarely ever that good, but this match was. Maybe it'll drop in a year from now but right now it was the most memorable match. The finish is being talked about alot and people are focusing too much on the botch. Mickie, covered up pretty well and played it off with the skill and intelligence of a seasoned veteran. The most talked about part of the match, was easily the "Camel Toe Clutch", that was something new for a woman's match and it really, really fit with Mickie's character. The pose, after that spot was tremendous as well as Mickie's expression The McMahon family prayer, comical if only for Stephanie's attempts to stifle her laughter. Undertaker Vs Mark Henry Winner: Undertaker Time: 10:25 Rating:*3/4 Actual result Winner: Undertaker Time: 9:00 Rating:*3/4 Thoughts -Essentially, the match I was expecting. It wasn't a total stinker but it wasn't good either. Taker busting out the plancha, is always a good sight to see. Hopefully, Taker gets his first (and final) WM classic, next year. Vince McMahon Vs HBK Winner: HBK Time: 20:30 Rating:*** Actual results Winner: HBK Time: 18:00 Rating: ***1/4 Thoughts -Fairly good SE match, as Shawn completely dominated Vince. The SS run-in was great if only for Doane's bumping. Shane, was useful in his comical selling. The story they told, was excellent (although it was completely ignored by the commentators). Rey Mysterio Vs Kurt Angle Vs Randy Orton Winner: Rey Mysterio Time: 17:30 Rating:***1/2 Actual result Winner: Mysterio Time: 9:00 Rating: *** Thoughts -Criminally short. This match had another 10 minutes in it and the rapid-fire finish didn't help. The crowd completely turned against Rey, and some are angry about that. Look, Rey had been booked as a joke and the constant Eddie exploitation was irritating. A backlash, had to be expected. Torrie Vs Candice Winner: Candice Time: Too long Rating:DUD Actual results Winner: Torrie Time: 4:00 Rating: DUD Thoughts -Who gives a shit Triple H Vs John Cena Winner: Triple H Time: 24:45 Rating:**1/4 Actual results Winner: John Cena Time: 21:00 Rating: **1/2 Thoughts -I've covered the entrances enough in the WM thread. They were both embarassingly bad. At least, It was nice to see CM Punk appear at WM in his home-town. The crowd heat against Cena, was nuclear to say the least. Triple H, had a big grin inside him as the crowd was completely behind him. The match, probably wasn't really that bad and might look better on later viewing but you can't deny the crowd just really sucked you out of the match and forced you to focus on the surreal aspect of a crowd 100% behind Triple H. This was a no-win situation as neither men aren't what they need on top right now. Over-all, the show was very solid but not a classic WM but it gave a couple very good matches, a good comedy segment and nothing atrociously bad aside from what was already expected.
  8. It had more to do with the chicago based theme of the show, rather then a lyric from his old theme song. In fact, you are probably the only one to make such a connection.
  9. The crowd was completely pro-Angle, Rey has been shoved down our throats with the Eddie stuff (which ironically enough, was toned down tonight, and Eddie was more of a focal part of the US Title match) and Rey, had been pushed as a baby lately. Really hurt his appeal for the fans.
  10. Aside from CM Punk and I think Jimmy Jacobs...who else was used?
  11. Wearing something like that in Mexico, fits because...well it's in Mexico. He just looks silly, a 5'5 guy wearing a feathered head-dress with a black leather mask will always look silly.
  12. Mexicans wear peacocks? I could get the tribal gear, not the peacock feathers.
  13. Take a deep breath and relax. It just annoys me so much what this company does sometimes. They are so wrapped up in their own universe that they have no idea how real people operate. I was ashamed of wrestling when I saw Hunter in that thing. What in the FUCK did that accomplish other than give a little more ammo to people who want to shoot it down. Why in the hell does my love of wrestling have to be a fucking secret from everyone? I tried to take my friend to a show down here in DC, and he was excited. I thought "hey, maybe I can find someone in the real world that will share this passion with me" And then that fucking idiot Vince McMahon makes in the god damned motherfucking Kiss My Ass Club show, and I spent damn near a week trying to find a way to explain this to him. Luckily he dropped out, and you dont know how thankful I was. And so now of course we have a fucking PIRATE. WHY? WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A MAN PLAYING A PIRATE ON MY TV? He's not supposed to be a joke, he's not insane, he's a motherfucking legitimate Pirate who decided wrestling in 2006 was the way to go about whatever the hell it is his goals were. This isn't the Boogeyman. The Boogeyman's gimmick is that he's off the wall batshit crazy. This is a perfectly sane and rational man who decided he was a pirate and we're supposed to accept and respect that. If I were watching Smackdown and someone came in and saw that, I'd be mortified. And now, on top of all this, the two biggest stars in the company (In theory) are showing up in utterly absurd costumes from some high school play. I don't ask them to go all the way mainstream. But would it really hurt them to not make fools of themselves and all their fans. Does Hunter really need to be dressed like that? Any wrestling fan knows he's the king of kings or whatever, and they don't need that...thing to explain it. Any casual thinks he's now the biggest loser dork they've ever seen. And I completely don't understand what the hell was going on with Cena. He's in Chicago, so he's no longer Vanilla Ice, he's Al Capone? WHY? I know it's Wrestlemania and you want to do it up. Debut new tights. Debut a ring robe, new pyro, come to the ring differently, anything but what these two did tonight. The new world champion came out wearing a fucking peacock on his head. Why are you ignoring that?
  14. Being right, isn't wrong.
  15. Why did Rey come out and go back behind the "building" just to pose...and then he comes back out onto the ramp again with the peacock head-dress. Yeah, btw...Cena and HHH were bad but Mysterio was worse.
  16. HHH, Taker and JBL on the same show? That'd make for interesting reports.
  17. Considering that TNA and ROH do this all the time and WCW used to do it as well, it wasn't that special. Cena, dancing like ALI was equally moronic as the Gangster theme.
  18. I guess the constant references to Conan during the telecast, didn't register to some people.
  19. The throne, was fine. That fit perfectly into his character and he had a dramatic entrance last year with the rising stage, so that wasn't out of place. It was the costume that did him in, at least he had an excuse with the "King of Kings" thing... Since when was Cena supposed to be a 1930's gangster?
  20. You know what pissed me off about the McMahon/HBK match? Ross and King, completely ignored the story they (I think) were trying to tell. The whole purpose of the angle (from what I gathered) was that McMahon wanted Shawn to be the guy he was in 1997, the crazy and cocky arrogant rock n roll superstar but Shawn "grew" up. McMahon, resented that Shawn had moved on from his most memorable event of his life. Through-out the match, Shawn broke down into the man Vince was trying to lure. Shawn, returned to his cocky and crazy rock n roll superstar antics. Breaking out the crotch chops, the constant mocking was Shawn falling back into his old ways. But that will be completely ignored and Shawn will go back to be good christian Shawn.
  21. Am I the only one who noticed that 'Taker kinda missed his target off the plancha? He damn near smacked his head right onto the floor. Maybe next year, he'll get that WM classic he wants because tonight sure wasn't.
  22. I doubt it. It was just a clever way to have him come back fresh later on and pop the crowd for his return. I thought he was gonna come out at the end, he was only gone for about 3 minutes.
  23. He could probably pull that gimmick off.
  24. I just noticed Stephanie during the McMahon family prayer. She made me chuckle.
  25. I'm watching the replay, and the Woman's match is still great.
