Yeah - SNL has been pretty good this year. All they are missing is a huge breakout star and it would be good again. They cut out enough of the deadwood that it's decent again. The sound was off for the beginning of Miss Murder and the beginning of the Blizzard Man sketch.

Marlins at 15 is probably a combination of being number one in pitching and number 30 in hitting. Cupboard for position players is just about bare but no club can even come close to matching the pitching depth.

I actually really enjoy Dickie V. He's annoying sometimes with his Duke love, but I met him at the Dean Dome twice and his enthusiasm translates well on the air.

The best part of Macgruber was the payoff at the end of the third skit when Forte asks for a bucket of bum sperm and Piven's defeated reaction. That to me, payed off all the skits. I liked that, weekend update, and the blizzard man. That's about it. The move the chains skit was one of the worst I can remember.

Poor Fredi Gonzalez. Never managed a major league game but he's already the worst manager in baseball according to ESPN.com.

It's hard to say, really. I just always wanted a bulldog. The closer and closer I got to being able to afford one, the more I read up about them and learned about them. It was only then that I learned about all the problems they have and just how expensive they are (and why). By that point, I think it was too late for me to just change my mind. My enthusiasm is curbed, so to speak, but I think they would be the perfect complement pet for me. They don't require a lot of exercise, which is good for me because sometimes I work long days in the lab. They are friendly and loyal, good to children and other dogs and I happen to find them to be among both the cutest and the coolest of dogs. I get asked this a lot because a lot of people ask me how I could be spend so much money on a dog but I don't really have a perfect answer. Then again, I also have a Mac so maybe I just like spending money on things that are way overpriced and not necessarily that much better then the cheaper options. I don't know.

It's true for any species, actually. I work with mice and it's the same deal. We deal with inbred mouse strains that have been kept up for over 200 generations and are 99.99 percent identical. Each strain is associated with certain maladies (one is blind, one is a poor breeder, etc.). As soon as you outbreed them, the F1 generation (first crossed generation) has increased vigor, alot of the problems go away and they generally live a lot longer. Genetic inbreeding is not good for anybody. Mutts live the longest but if someone has in their mind the idea of the dog they want - usually the only way to get exactly what you want is to get a purebreed. Some are relatively healthy (usually the smaller dogs) but there are dogs like the boxers and bulldogs that are just saddled with health issues. Unfortunately for me - I have always wanted a bulldog and I will get one at some point (if not this summer). But I know what I'm getting myself into.

Pretty crazy but if you think about it it makes a little sense then it would at face value alone. He's jealous because of his wife's feelings towards Jack - he becomes the anti-Jack and tries to have him killed. I felt better about it at the end of the episode then I did at the beginning.

Yeah - she kept the dog. That was probably almost worse then ending a 4 year relationship.

What are your thoughts on "This Modern Love"? That's one of my favorite under-rated songs from Silent Alarm.

Well, after the first two songs I was wondering just badly this CD was going to disappoint me, but luckily it turned things around after that. Waiting for 7.18 was a decent track and everything after The Prayer is pretty damn good. It's still not Silent Alarm but I think it's still a pretty decent album. The Prayer is a terrible single though.

I found it through Maxim doing a piece on them about 3 months ago. I'm sure that brought in a lot of business. In terms of "too popular" - that's probably more perceived than reality because the only people I know that know what the heck threadless is are the people I've told. There are probably 10 or so shirts on the site that I want but I'm gonna hold off and order them at staggered intervals. The only problem is you never know if they'll still be around or not in a little while.

Yeah. The reason for that is because they all need to be artificially inseminated and all the pups are delivered by c-section. The breed is pretty messed up. I found a breeder in Ohio, about 8 hours from me, that charges $1400 for female puppies with the promise that you won't register your dog with AKC. I'm on the waiting list and I think I might end up getting one this summer.

I know this is not a favorite band of the board, but wow... this cd is so meh. Nothing sucks, nothing stands out. It's just pretty much 45 minutes of noise. Maybe some tracks will jump out after repeated listenings but so far the only one that's memorable is the opener "Thriller" due to the intro and outro that rib on Jay-Z. But nothing sucks so if you're a fan I'd suggest getting the torrent.
