Glad to see DeAngelo Williams playing great this year. It seemed like he kept getting a raw deal, considering that he was sitting behind DeShaun Foster for some reason, and then when Foster left, the Panthers drafted Jonathan Stewart in the 1st round.
Looking back, I wasn't overly impressed by Utah when I saw them play Michigan (to be fair, it was the 1st game of the season but still). I actually thought BYU and TCU looked like better teams through the 1st half of the season or so, but obviously Utah went on to prove me wrong. I think they matchup fairly well with Alabama but they'll probably lose by 17 or something like that.
Regarding the D-II game, I'm just glad Grand Valley (where Cincy coach Brian Kelly got his start btw) got taken out early (by UMD).
Rome has to be relieved.
Exactly what I was about to say.
This loss all but clinches 0-16 for the Lions. Their D is gonna get ran off the field against Indy and New Orleans and Detroit hasn't won in Lambeau in about 17 years.
All I needed was a measley 6 points from Kevin Walter...nope, didn't happen. Of course many points were left on my bench (including Matt Jones playing tonight) so that sucks. If I end up missing the playoffs with my point total, that'd be one hell of a chokejob.
EDIT: Actually, after looking at the standings and whatnot, I'd probably make the playoffs even with a loss next week, so I might be good to go.
Goddammit Virginia. I was hoping to see the ACC become more of a clusterfuck as well as get 11 bowl-eligible teams. After all this madness, we're just one game away from a BC/VT rematch in the title game. Oh well.
I think some Cowboys team went 0-11-1 back in the day or something like that. Anyways, the NFL might as well just cut the Lions game from Thanksgiving because I'm gonna have to keep hearing it from the other fans until they do. A lot of people think next week's home game against the Vikings is the Lions' last chance to win a game but I'm not buying it. 0-16 here we come.
I swear we had this topic before. Anyways, I'll go with cake here. Maybe it's just my unsophisticated tastes, but pie's just "OK" to me (except for egg custard pie, but that's kinda different).
They discussed this on ESPN First Take (also mentioned that Warren Moon said on a radio show it could happen). I don't know, I just can't see it but stranger things have happened before.
My personal favourite was the one where someone didn't know whether to quit a Benoit fan club or not.
That and Slayer's first post was just the right comment/ moment for the south of the board to bombard the north.
Someday soon when I finish lurking/going through the current threads ill reread that one. I teetered off somewhere after the hype died down.
*raises hand*
For the record, I wasn't debating it, I quit as soon as I heard "the truth".
I also agree with the closing of the ESPN sucks thread as a terrible moment.
Well it does, but under the current system, that's the way it goes. I think a playoff will happen at some point. It might not be until these TV deals expire, but it's gotta happen eventually.
Looks like Ball St.'s taking care of business against Western Michigan. It'll be interesting to see which bowl they end up in (if they win the MAC title game). It would suck to see them in the Motor City Bowl but it may very well happen.
