Merging the brands should be considered, but if not, merge the world titles and have the champion defend on both shows. Tag champs too. Plus have the U.S. title and IC title defended on both shows, those belts should no longer be considered garbage. Having Cena, for an example, defending on a Raw PPV against Edge and a Smackdown PPV against Booker T-and getting all he wants from both, no squashes, would make the brands seem more equal. I'd like to see the brands merged, with more talent, guys like the Spirit Squad wouldn't be as rushed.

They need to wear the same type of pants. Do they have a team name? (Midnight Express, etc)
-
Announcers acting like they didn't know who Steamboat was during his run in the WWF in the early 90s, just a few years after being the IC champion, stealing the show with Savage at WM III. Hundreds of other examples, just anytime an announcer "forgets" something.

Never should have come out. I would have liked to have seen him in TNA before all this.

Lots of rats are not very fat.

TNA might be a better fit, some of their guys don't talk too much and stll get a lot of ring time. Maybe I'm confusing him with someone else but I'm pretty positive I saw an OVW tape and he had a couple of good interviews or promos.

It seemed like they had too much time to fill at the end with the beatdown. Maybe that had something to do with the blackout at the beginning, I missed that part and most of the first hour so I'm not sure what might have been affected.

I wouldn't mind this, but what good teams are there to feud with on Raw? Pretty much just DX. If they reform, send them to Smackdown. Staying singles wrestlers, though, Shelton needs to turn face. I think the Highlanders have potential as a heel team, members of Spirit Squad-eventually, as a face team.

I thought it was interesting the dome crowds went way downhill after the NWA/Crockett takeover. Leading up to that, the WWF took the likes of Junkyard Dog, Butch Reed, DiBiase, Jake Roberts, Hacksaw Duggan even One Man Gang, so maybe they just had no choice to sell. Watts did miss out on a huge push for Sting, so give Dusty or whoever made that call in the NWA some credit. I wish and hope they considered a merger with World Class, having a TX-LA base would have made sense but maybe Fritz and Watts could have never worked it out. Kerry, etc, did work a lot of old midsouth dates. Without looking it all up, I thinka roster with Steve Williams, the Von Erichs (if able and available), Chris Adams, Freebirds, Terry Taylor, Rick Rude (maybe could have stopped a move to NWA), young guys like "Dingo" (Ultimate) Warrior, Simpsons, Bigelow, and a ESPN slot, could have let them last several more years.

OAO "Holy shit, Kurt Angle is in TNA now" thread...
Hasbeen1 replied to Downhome's topic in TNA Wrestling
Angle is one of my kids' favorites and I'll be glad he'll be on a show that I'm not embarrassed to let them watch. If healthy, he can be a huge plus. If anything at least this is maybe the start of some competition and the WWE will start to make their own product better. -
Thursday is better than Mondays. You not only have Raw but Monday night Football seems a lot fresher with a move to ESPN. You do have CSI, etc, but you have competition on most nights too except Saturday and Friday-when many of your target audience is out or watching football.

I liked him before he joined the NWo. I could say that for several of them though.

Yeah they've only made about a billion worldwide.

Yeah I thought Chucky cut a great promo on Rick Steiner. Maybe he was shooting.

If You Were A Wrestler, What Accomplishments
Hasbeen1 replied to Dimensions's topic in General Wrestling
Being able to walk normally. Few if any headaches from concussions. Having enough money to just work legend type shows for fun, interest, not for the paycheck alone. Respect from peers. -
You expected something good with Stephanie?

I don't see a good way to pick out a weak link unless it's kayfabe, who got pinned more often, etc. You never know which team would have gotten more belts, heat, longevity with different partners, say Tommy Rogers with Rick Morton as RnR Express instead of Fantastics with Bobby Fulton. The best and most memorable teams are the ones where the partners were fairly equal, not the individuals like Undertaker and Kane who dominated the tag division. All that tag talk from the 80s makes me bring up, again, how I'm still pissed the Sheepherders were used as bumbling Bushwhackers by McMahon.

Angle's physician.

PWI favored anybody over the WWF because McMahon cut off all access. That was the reason for the made up wrestling psychologists, experts, etc that discussed the WWF. They couldn't just quit saying what was happening with Hogan, Piper and the rest.

That's been proven, look at hirings like Baron Von Rasche, Boris Zukov, Bloom and Enos (Beverly Brothers) from the old AWA, just to help kill it off after they took Hennig. Wow I miss the old territories, if it's not obvious lol.

Has the Raw main event scene ever been this stale?

Things change. Think back to Terra Ryzing, Prototype, Sexton Hardcastle, Leviathan, GI Bro, and Mean Mark Callis. -

A good manager can do a lot for a heel, give it time, maybe he'll be world title worthy in the eyes of the fans. Way, way back, One Man Gang didn't seem out of place as the champ in a league with the likes of Duggan, DiBiase, Terry Gordy, Sting, etc (old UWF). Not going to get too far off the subject, but a heel stable with Umaga and the Colon boys would go over well, iny my opinion. -
I have no problem with Godwin getting back in, if he's clean, didn't cause problems in the past and especially if he's in financial problems because of a tragedy. I don't think anybody needs to worry about him getting a world title, I don't mind the Kamala, Duggan stuff and don't mind this either.

I wouldn't mind seeing Michaels align with the McMahons for whatever reason, as long as there is some logic to it-jealousy over HHH getting a title shot, etc. I still think a Eugene heel turn, mocking the fans on how he fooled them, etc, could make him a upper midcarder. -

Build Kane back up to the world title level. I know, been there done that, but at least it's not been done in a while. Carlito, maybe Umaga, Doane, hopefully they'll be at that level in a year or two. I wouldn't mind a heel turn for Shawn Michaels after/if the DX thing ends. He wouldn't have to be vulgar, cursing, if he doesn't want to play that character, just insult the fans old school style, cheat to win, interfere in the face's matches, etc. I'm sure he knows how to get that done.
