  1. It means their egos didn't get in the way in the clubhouse and they played like a real team. With people like Bobby Abreu staining their clubhouse, I'm sure they'll have a better shot next season without him. In every sport there is a chemistry of a team, some more than others. But if you don't think a baseball team needs chemistry to play well together, you're mistaken.
  2. So? They had team chemistry.
  3. The main reason the Yankees just made baseball into a joke to the mainstream media is how they were asking New York City for money for their stadiums, the Mets included as well. Then they overspend the fuck out of their pockets, so it makes it seem bush league for a top brand in pro sports to "pull the wool" over people's eyes. Honestly, I never expected them to sign all of those free agents, but at the same time, they're still not a team unless they have chemistry. Something all of those Yanks teams of the past had. There hasn't been team chemistry in Yankee Stadium since 2000.
  4. It doesn't help an argument when 70% of Enigma's posts contain "According to Meltzer".
  5. Gotta love Michael Cole. "Have a great Christmas - oop - holiday everybody!"
  6. And for the posters that will say this was predictable, take away the internet and you wouldn't have had a fucking clue.
  7. Yeah, looked like Mickie blew out her knee and knew she was in trouble. Sure looked like a serious injury.
  8. How do you not know how to spell DiBiase?

    NFL Week 16

How is this any different from Matt Young posting in the hockey thread? Knock off the PBP, YKRG.
  11. Actually, Rick Martel debuts in WCW on 1/5/98, and Marty Jannetty debuts the week after. Martel had a nice TV Title run. EDIT: And if the Nitro recaps I am reading are correct, Martel went almost five months between Nitro appearances... He wrestled on Nitro 2/16/98, and didn't show up again until 7/13/98. I figure he wound up on Thunder a lot, though.
  12. Rick Martel, as well.
  13. 11/17/97 will also be historic, because that is when Rick Rude will appear on both RAW and Nitro.
  14. Precisely. Not to mention Philly, as well.

Must be why he plays for an NFL team!
  16. This is a post on the Habs General Discussion board on their website... So, the fans are mad because other teams' fans got an idea of what they were doing, so they did it themselves. And somehow, when the tables are turned, makes everyone else evil. Gotta love it.
  17. Why do you think Christian is leaving TNA?
  18. I know.
  19. He's from Maryland. How on Earth are we going to paint this as a negative? If he signed with the Red Sox or Angels he would be in the playoffs 75 percent of the time over the life of the contract. If he signs with the Nationals/Orioles that number drops down to like 10 percent over the life of the contract. Is playing for losing teams really worth the extra 20 million dollars when he is going to get at least 160 million? If his family is more important to him and he ultimately wants to decide what's best for them, it shouldn't really matter. You shouldn't care what he does, anyway. Some athletes make moves for family reasons. This doesn't mean they don't want to win, it means they are taking care of their family.

    NFL Week 16

With a heartless performance minus the defense, I can't believe I let this team lead me to believe they had it in them. That was as bad a performance as the Cincinnati and Baltimore games. I really hope they don't make the playoffs now, they don't deserve it. To lose two division games against the same team is embarrassing, no matter what team. McNabb was OK, but a lot of his passes were dropped because receivers had to reach back. Jackson had two inexcusable drops that probably cost us. Now we need a win next week and two other outcomes to decide if we're in. That's too much to hope for, and a good team will not have to worry about other outcomes. This team isn't good. I'm just depressed right now.

...isn't that what he's been doing his whole career, though? Yes, but he's also led this team to a lot of wins since 2000. I respect the hell out of him.

And apparently Washington players can rape Brian Westbrook when he's trying to make a catch and not get a penalty.

Neither do the Eagles. How can you play this poorly against a bad Redskins team when you're almost there? I'm not seeing any heart in anyone on offense not named Brian Westbrook. Make a fucking play, McNabb. It's time to stop crying about the Philly media and fans and do what you've been doing your whole career.

    That's a pretty bullshit explanation.
