The One and Only Smackdown! HCTP Thread

I work at Circuit City and we're supposed to get it the 28th. We'll find out next week, I guess.

Babe Ruth's jersey cut into pieces

Babe Ruth jersey or no Babe Ruth jersey, I'm not paying $150 for a pack of baseball cards that ends up having the Tigers' back up infielders scattered throughout it.

    Some No Mercy Notes

Considering she went from having no tits at all to having a noticeable rack, I'd say it's more than marginal. But they're not exactly up to Missy Hyatt levels yet or anything.

    Where do you work?

Circuit City. Mostly video games and small electronics, although sometimes I'm in the music/movies department.

    Undertaker Returning To Dead Man

I did notice tonight that he's letting his hair grow just a little bit... Of course, maybe he's just waiting for a chance to go to his normal barber.

    Backyard Wrestling

You guys allow for returns on opened video games? We don't do that at Circuit City.

The ONE and ONLY World Series Thread

Yes, but it's also easier to win three out of six than four out of six. Go Marlins!

    SmackDown recap is up

SmackDown from JHawk's Beak (10/16/2003) I'm gonna have to save a line for another week. Which isn't a bad thing, actually.

    Stu Hart dies

One catch with a Stu Hart tribute video: Does Vince own any footage of Stu Hart at all aside from shows he was in the crowd for after his retirement? Another legend has passed...always a sad day...

    ...

Unmasked already? So that lasted all of what, 20 minutes then?
  12. We saw that in the U.S., alright. Funny stuff. One of the producers said they got into an argument with FOX over that episode. The actual title was "A Period Piece", but FOX ordered a change to "The Camping Show". A stupid argument when you realize that the episode titles never got on the air.

Forget Boston, Chicago Has The Curse Instead

The fan appeared to be reaching onto the field of play. And even if he hadn't, if the ball would have been caught without the interference, the umpire is allowed to say the batter is out. How soon we forget the 1996 World Series then.

Forget Boston, Chicago Has The Curse Instead

Here's something I'm confused about. I flipped in just after this apparently (I saw Gonzalez's error and went "Marlins win in 7" out of instinct). But if the fan so clearly interfered with the play, why didn't the left field umpire just call the hitter out? It seems blatantly obvious that Alou had the catch if not for the fan. Fan or no fan, there is absolutely no excuse to give up eight runs in the eighth inning of any game, much less that big a game.

    Greatest wrestling quotes ever?

"So you think you're impressing people because you spell your name 'R-O-A-D-D-O-double G'? You want to impress me? Spell 'lugubrious'!" -Chris Jericho at SummerSlam 99
  17. Tully-Magnum NEEDS to be uncut, especially if the Backlund-Hansen match is uncut. If it's the Backlund-Hansen MSG match, it's very disappointing.

    Flair DVD Matches Announced

The Royal Rumble is 62 minutes. The Steamboat match at Clash VI was about 55. Nothing else tops 45 that I know of. THe Race match is about 25, the other Steamboat match is 35, the Windham match had about 35 minutes air on TV, and the Rhodes match was about 22. The other two are about 20 minutes.

    Some drama.....

And I have to admit that it was a nice change of pace to get into an argument with somebody who tried to back up their side of the story rather than just say "That's my opinion, so ". Even if it seemed to be the other way around while it was happening.

    Some drama.....

Hate to disappoint you ripper, but after this post I'm going to have to continue this later tonight if I don't want to lose my job. But let me ask, Marney, what time of day was your hit and run? How well lit was the area? It's possible that at that time of day she could have looked for the license plate number and not even seen it if the license plate wasn't illuminated. She never said "I didn't try to get the license plate number." She said "We didn't get the license plate number." That could be a big difference.

    Some drama.....

And how not thinking clearly when she's been chased for however long it was (I think she said 20 minutes) is considered a point against her makes sense only in your won little world. News flash, Marney. SOMETIMES NORMAL PEOPLE DON'T THINK CLEARLY WHEN THEY FEEL THREATENED.

    Funny, isn't it?

WWE Management high on Orton, Maven

I agree. But until Maven can make that flying DDT thing look like it connects, they need to reconsider or change his finisher.
  24. JHawk

    Some drama.....

Nope. It was a fair extrapolation from your "doughnut" line, which speaks to a contemptuous and denigrating stereotype: I objected to that because cops do more than eat doughnuts. Possibly I misinterpreted what you were saying, in which case you should clarify. It's called sarcasm. Look it up in Webster's Dictionary if you're unfamiliar with the term. Would it be a fair assumption that they slowed down just a bit to pull off the exit ramp? (No idea if they did or not, just asking.) If they had, then that changes whether there was a direct line of sight or not.

WWE Management high on Orton, Maven

Shouldn't they give Maven a finisher that he can actually hit properly before they push him?
