godthedog 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2004 5-disc wong kar-wai box set, containing: 'as tears go by' (fantastic balance between HK action and WK-W's idiosyncracies) 'days of being wild' (only one of the set i hadn't seen--uneven & disappointing, despite the presence of Your Godess of Crying Onscreen Maggie Cheung) 'chunking express' (was always kind of lukewarm on it till i saw it again tonight--astonishingly good, probably his most consistent film before 'in the mood for love') 'fallen angels' (basically the same as 'chunking' but not quite as compelling, but still really good) 'happy together' (inconsistent and meandering at points, but it's got a good human core) now if only i could find a copy of 'ashes of time'. It's hard to find a likeable character in that movie, but if I have to choose, it's either Seth Green or Culkin, since they get the best one liners. "I don't do drugs. Did you see that?
