My first time watching NWA:TNA

Tonight, after reading the pathetic plans the WWE has for Vengeance, I decided it was time to see what this whole TNA thing was all about. Let me tell you I was impressed. After viewing countless bad "WWE style" matches it was refreshing seeing so much fast paced effort and serious characters. That's something that is missing in the WWE: dramatic wrestling. Everything is a joke, even what is supposed to be serious, in the WWE. Look at SD's main angle: Steph, Vince, and Gowan. Vince tells us that he used his daughter like a prostitute, and we're supposed to be shocked? We think both of them are whiny bastards, so the whole thing comes off like a skit. But tonight most of the angles, such as Raven vs. Douglas and the X division match had me actually caring about what was going to happen.

Nice opening tag match, GREAT X division match, Great promos by Mitchell and Cyrus, and a quality main event (AJ Styles is nuts to pull of that flip and land on his feet). These thinks make TNA a much better program than anything the WWE has going for them. I'm still undecided about Vengeance, but rest assured this isn't the last time I'll order TNA.

Oh yeah, and Road Dogg gets props for blasting the WWE on air.

OK. This was my first full show. I've seen matches in the past and I've liked them, but as a whole, I see this as being just below SmackDown! and just above RAW. Some notes...

AMW is probably the best reincarnation of the RnR Express in years.

Joe E Legend as Vince Russo > Vince Russo as Vince Russo

The new X Division wrestlers are alright, although the ones that brought the X Division to the dance are in need to spice it up again, I think.

Frankie Kazarian is NOT "The Future."

Shane Douglas fuckin SUCKS. He needs to watch some fuckin Dynamic Dudes tapes...

Jerry Lynn ain't so bad now a days...

Abyss is WWE material for sure...

D'Lo is missing something...

AJ as a face is SO much better than AJ as a heel. As a face, he can do those big moves in transition.

Don Callis is the fuckin man...

That fat dude could be Vader 2K3 if he can do the moonsault...

How can it be below SD? Maybe when the SD six where there, but definitely not now.

Because Smackdown! is free- TNA costs $10. Smackdown is usually around the same level, sometimes better, then TNA.

It's just a matter of opinion, but lately SD hasn't been nearly as good as the show I watched tonight, but that's just me.

I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that I paid $10 for a PPV that was much better than the WWE's $40 PPV last month.

BG James, Konnan, and Ron Killings were doing a news style comedy segment and BG James said that usually they end these with something funny and they need to find something and the only thing they could find was this weekend at Vengeance, Stephanie McMahon will face Sable.

For all the haters of Frankie Kazarian; just wait for the man to turn heel. Watching him work the heel gimmick is like watching a completely different wrestlers, as he just has all the necessary mannerisms and such (similar to AJ Styles during his especially heelish period prior to Larry Zybsko being brought in) down to a teet. It works for him so much, and it's just ashame TNA has such a large amount of heels right now or he would've probably been brought in like that in the first case.

Yeah, this coming from a fuckin pothead who couldn't keep his job in the WWE, and can't wrestle his way out of a paperbag. Yeah, he's really credible

And different newsletters...or did you miss the topics in the WWE folder?

Who cares if BG can't wrestle? Everybody knows it, especially TNA. Why do you think he and Konnan are kept to doing backstage comedy things? It's what they're best at. They're both very good talkers. Ron Killings is as good at talking, and 100x better in the ring, so the only beef I have with those vignettes are that THE TRUTH AIN'T WRESTLING.

Pretty solid show. Still nothing compared to the greatness of the shows back in...what? April? The few weeks leading to Raven/Jarrett were pure gold.

Konnan: The allegations that the 19-year old girl that accused Kobe Bryant of sexual assault is Juventud Guerrera is completely untrue.

BG James: Yeah. He's 22.

Konnan: And he's goin out with Kid Romeo...

That just might be the joke of the year for me...

Meh. I've been watching TNA on and off since about January, and this episode did little for me. The X Division match was justa bunch of indy flavor's of the month thrown out to put over Kazarian. For the most part, the wrestling on the show was lacking, except the main event, but even that was overshadowed by the ridiculous chicken wire cage. A few more thoughts:

- Jerry Lynn is the Benoit of TNA. Criminally underappreciated and used only to put over far less talented performers. He should be in the main event mix, not wasting time with Barely Credible.

- Shane Douglas is just flat out pathetic in the ring. Leave Franchise, now.

- I do like the Mitchell/Raven angle, but where the hell is Raven to sell it on the other end?

- I would kill to have seen the WWE bring in Christopher Daniels for O'Haire's old gimmick.

- The Lollipop girl crap is gettting out of hand. Why the fuck are the dragging out a meaningless catfight?

- I marked out for Don Callis, but I fear the Sandman/Fat Dude matches.

- AJ Styles is turning into the Chris Jericho to Vince Russo's Stephanie. It's sad to watch.

- I like the Lynn/Credible feud, all mistakes they've made during it withstanding. Lynn's a great guy to have around in order to work with a variety of guys. Lynn will eventually be mixed into the main event, but he doesn't need to be a mainstay there with the lack of charisma hurting him even through this feud.

- Raven is selling the injuries (a la, his ankle is still hurt).

- Daniels doesn't need O'Haire's old gimmick. The man is just a fucking manipulative genius that all he needs is the idea of something be "propagandic filth" (as I call his message about the Code of Honor in ROH) and it's smooth sailing from there.

- Sandman may cause them to suck, but Iceberg is the fucking man inside the ring. Give him a chance, and he'll impress you. I've seen him and David Young put on excellent matches in Wildside, and I was a huge naysayer of the guy when I first saw him.

What do you mean by that?

Styles' run as champ is being completely overshadowed by Russo's inane feud with Jarrett. Just consider the amount of time Jarrett and Russo had on last night's show, as compared to A.J. More importantly, why the hell should A.J. have cared so much that Russo was caged? The reason lies in the fact that Russo has booked himself as indispensible to A.J.'s success. He's putting himself over, not A.J.

At least A.J. isn't scooping dog shit ... yet.

AJ shouldn't have become champion anyway. He was at the level to become champion when he first faced Jarrett, but then he moved back down the card and they threw him back into the title picture like 2 weeks before the 3 way match. Raven should have become the champion.

I'll say it once, and I'll say it again. AJ doesn't do it for me as a heel. He's better as a face because he does such great moves that he can easily get the crowd behind him.

Yeah; it frustrates me no end seeing Russo on TV; he's booked as the be-all and end-all of TNA; when really he's not.

The reality is I enjoyed the shows much more when Russo was not on TV at all; he just stinks up the show so bad. All the insulting of the crowd, it may get him crowd heat, but when your watching at home, you don't give a stuff with the hillbilly-redneck cracks; you tend to agree with him. But; and he's gotta face it, he's just boring, and he flatters himself to think he's anything but. He needs to go; at least off the damn screen.

"D'Lo is missing something..."

What he was missing was time for a match.

Trust me...this D-Lo is somewhere around 10000 times better than the one from Heat.

Springboard moonsaults and frogsplashes on the floor for EVERYONE!!!!...when there's time.

Things must have run over.

I was yelling at my TV while time was ticking away...and then they cut to a Trinity promo and Sting interview.

They should put the most anticipated match first every week (like the cage match) to avoid that in the future.

Then trot out some big name guy like Raven or Jarrett to do the last match.

First every week? Nah...main events are supposed to be last. But maybe this isn't the whole blowoff match, maybe it's just a teaser to the real deal in the future. I'm sure D'Lo will get another shot down the road. That's what I'm hoping.

I'm starting to watch TNA more.. awesome to see Cyrus is aboard now. Great promo right off the bat. Between him and Mitchell they've got two managers that WWE can't touch.

Is it just me or is there like a major heel beatdown at the end of just about every segment. At least 5-6+ per week. And like 2-3 every week are super serious, hospitalizing attacks. I think they're overdoing it.
