NoCalMike Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Come on, let's get serious now. How much longer can this thing last? Vince rarely even uses Rey as a proper Cruiserweight, and everyone else gets in a feud for about 2 weeks before the plug is pulled. Cruiserweight wrestling just can't survive in the bigger ring and under Vince's watch. There is a roster full of cruisers capable of making the division great, it is rather easy to get a cruiser over, yet look at the SHIT job being done in WWE. You can't fuck it up this bad on purpose, it has to be this way because someone on top doesn't PERSONALLY like cruiserweights/luchadores. It is sad that it is gonna come to this, but I think within the next year the cruiserweight title will be dead. So, let's start the pool.
Lil' Bitch Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Its kinda hard for the CW division to be strong when most of the guys are stuck on Velocity.
RavishingRickRudo Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Has Rey even defended the title in the past 30 days?
NoCalMike Posted August 9, 2003 Author Report Posted August 9, 2003 The problem is that Rey is only really a part-time cruiserweight in WWE. The bulk was added for a reason, and it his debut should have triggered the bad omen for the cruiserweight division. I am even beginning to doubt that he was even signed to be a cruiserweight, and maybe moreso because he was THE ONE cruiserweight that can be pawned off as "good enough" to go against the bigger guys. Kind of the same situation as Taijiri, who is just as horrible underused.
Guest Y2Kurt Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Has Even Defended The Title Since Late May?
Only The Strong Survive Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 We need Hakushi back... That'll save the whole Division.
The Czech Republic Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Hakushi was awesome. Too bad most fans forgot about him or never saw him...they'd think he was a cross between Haku and Rikishi. ...gah! But as awesome as Hakushi was, I don't think his theme deserved a spot on Full Metal.
Downhome Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I sersiouly doubt that the title will still be around come WMXX. If it is, it'll be in the period of "you never see anyone defend it and can't hardly remember who the champ is". I have no fucking idea why the CW division is not given the chance to fly in WWE. I miss WCW.
Lightning Flik Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I miss WCW. For the Cruiserweight battles, oh yes. For the rest... Eh, I'm half and half.
edotherocket Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I think the Cruiserweight division isn't going away. It's one of those weird things that WWE seems to insist on promising to putting more effort in to, without actually meaning (kinda like 'building new stars'). It'll be around a year from now. Even five years from now. It'll just be the same mess that it is now, barely getting defended on PPV and champs going months without defending it.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 But as awesome as Hakushi was, I don't think his theme deserved a spot on Full Metal. Yeah that song blew donkey choad.
Guest CronoT Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Does anyone else remember how long they had the LightWeight Title and the Champ, Gillberg, on ice? It was like 6 months or longer. Then, he dropped it to someone in less than two minutes on RAW.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Which was also Lita's debut. And it was on Heat. Ah, happy days...
