Guest Big_Jay101 Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 So what is it...im seeing Freddy vs Jason
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 It won't be on Friday, but I will see Freddy vs. Jason this weekend.
Guest Choken One Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Open Range. Fuck Horror Movies. You want real Violence...Watch Open Range...Watch the most UNDER-RATED actor in history show you how it's done. Devull > Jason or Freddy
The Ghost of bps21 Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 I picked Freddy vs. Jason cause I'm seeing that first... but I might actually go see 2 movies this weekend with Open Range being the other.
Guest El Satanico Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Freddy vs. Jason I've been waiting over a decade for this long rumored movie, but I'm going in expecting nothing. I've forced myself to not get too excited about it, so I wouldn't hype myself up to a level where I wouldn't enjoy the movie once I saw it. Hype = a cancer to film
Guest Flyboy Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Neither. I'll download Freddy Vs. Jason, though.
the max Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 I want to see Seabiscuit, but I have to cover for someone on Saturday. Maybe I'll go on Sunday.
sfaJack Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 None. Gettin hitched this weekend. But what says 'romantic honeymoon' better than watching a good, old-fashioned slasher flick??
Youth N Asia Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 F vs J...I mean come on. Grind has bomb written all over it.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Fuck Kevin Costner, he shitted his career away with vanity project after vanity project. Freddy vs. Jason is a lean mean slasher flick made by hungry people with something to prove. Open Range looks like a 3 hour disaster.
King Kamala Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Grind has bomb written all over it. That movie looks like a third rate rip off of Jackass, the Tony Hawk video games and Out Cold (Which was flop but I thought it was a decent comedy nonetheless).

It's going to do for skateboarding what Out Cold did for snowboarding...nothing. But I liked Out Cold...I own it on DVD
Guest El Satanico Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Grind has a cameo from Bam Margera...so...well ok that's probably the only good thing about it.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Grind has a cameo from Bam Margera...so...well ok that's probably the only good thing about it. I fail to see how that's a good thing. Unless of course he's punching his dad in the face.
Ripper Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Open Range probably. F vs J looks like a great rental, but slasher flicks really have sucked lately.
Toshiaki Koala Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Well, I already saw Seabiscuit, and out of the others, only Open Range looks halfway decent. In fact (this may be an exaggeration), Grind may well turn out to be one of the worst movies of all time.
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Open Range...Ill give it a chance.....
Guest Choken One Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Anyone have a feeling Westerns are making comeback?
Placebo Effect Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Open Range has Kevin Costner in it. Thus, it'll bomb. I'm going to see the first or second showing of Freddy vs. Jason on Friday. Can't fucking wait. The few reviews I've read of it haven't been bad like Jason X, and thye called it really gory, so things are looking up. I want to see Grind, if only for the appeared from Adam Byron, the kid from Gilmore Girls and The O.C. It'll probably suck, though.
Guest Choken One Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 You don't know the rules of Costner do you Baseball/Western=Box Office Hit Romance/Epic=Bomb And it's getting great buzz and reviews...
Guest El Satanico Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 If Open Range does good business they will do it like Titanic did. A movie that does so-so business the first week but because of good reviews does increasingly good business. I normally don't go along with that "good word of mouth" crap, but this is the kind of movie that does benefit from it. Also, the fact that Costner is in it means people won't be rushing out to see it the first week, but may if they hear good things.
Youth N Asia Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 You suggesting a baseball western? I could dig that.
Guest Choken One Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 I'm actually shocked Costner hasn't tried to make a movie about Baseball in 1892...I'd love to see him pull that one off...
