Before the tournamant starts Jesse points out specifically that if a "draw" happens no one advances and if a "double disqualification" happens no one advances.

Isn't it interesting that later on we had a draw (Rude/Roberts) and a double DQ (Hogan/Andre)?

This is the WWE Home Video version BTW, which I think is as it was on PPV.

Just like the year Austin and Vince left the Rumble match for 3 and a half hours they pointed out "over the top rope" more so then usual before hand.

I wish they would quit with that and make an out an out...or at least not have guys go in and out for the hell of it

I like how Jesse and Gorilla push that if Savage vs. One Man Gang ends in a draw or double dq that Dibiase would automatically become champ and there would be no main event. In this day and age they probably would have done that just to swerve the fans then booked an 'impromptue' Dibiase vs. Hogan match or something.

Does anyone besides me remember how they announced the brackets for the WM4 tournament and then they were changed a week or two later?

I remember watching UFC 11 when they ran out of alternates, and didn't have a final. Man was I ticked off.

That's right. But there were only minor differences. The original bracketing was like this

__________________Hogan vs. Andre

Roberts vs. Rude

Muraco vs. Bravo

Steamboat vs. Valentine

Savage vs. Reed

Bigelow vs. OMG

Duggan vs. DiBiase

So they just switched the Roberts/Rude match with the Duggan/DiBiase match. Probably because the original bracketing didn't allow a Savage vs. DiBiase final. Perhaps they had already come up with the booking for the tourney when it was decided that Savage was winning it instead of DiBiase.

It still annoys me to this day that we didn't get the Savage/Steamboat rematch that the bracketings suggested. Instead they ran the whole tournament without one single face vs. face or heel vs. heel match.

I can't believe how they could screw this up so badly after all the good booking they did up to the tournament. WrestleMania IV could have been such a classic considering the build up and interest it had beforehand. Instead it marked the end of an era (eh, at least for me :P )

What? How could they improve on what they did with WM4? Why this of course http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...=ST&f=23&t=5501 Huh? Cheap plug. Noooo no no. it's just information. For your own sake. It's true. It's true.

Ane when only one of Shawn Michaels' feet touched the floor and the Bulldog thought he had won, the announcers had spent the whole Rumble driving home the whole "BOTH feet much touch the floor" thing.

Funny story:- Until that year I thought that you just had to go over the top and any part of your body touch the floor to be eliminated and so I found it odd hearing them continually talking about both feet so much ... of course by the end of the match the reasoning behind this had become clear!

Like it back then when they needed to fill out a battle royal they even bring in guys that hasn't even wrestled a while or wasn't even on the map then... Like Wild Samoan Sika, and Sam Houston lol

Trivia: Then there were years when they'd bring in independent guys, AAAs, and other various non-WWF guys. Doug Gilbert, Latin Lover, Pierroth, Dory Funk, etc. Now we have enough guys to do a Rumble for Raw and a Rumble for Smackdown.

the mid 90's from 94-97 are the years the WWF didn't seem to have enough wrestlers to put in the rumble. thats why those old timers, and independants sometimes even Puro wrestlers went into the rumble.

That would be the 1993 Royal Rumble.

The one that Yokozuna won.

And WrestleCrap aplenty (Damien Demento, Berzerker, I.R.S., Tatanka, Repo Man, "The Model" Rick Martel, Papa Shango, "El Matador" Tito Santana...possibly whatever the team name for Owen Hart and Koko B. Ware was (at least the outfits were wrestlecrap), and Skinner.)

EDIT: Oh, and though he wasn't officially a participant, the debut of Giant Gonzales.
