Why do all my opponetts start with 2 specials and I dont?

In all matches? I've only noticed them starting with two specials in title matches that you asked the GM for. I think that's the game's way of trying to tell you to earn them normally.

I just had a wild tornado tag. I was Los Guerreros (Eddie to be exact) vs. TWGTT. Sick match that has everyone near the end with red and orange health. Ending was me hitting the rolling vertical suplexes on Benjamin and hitting the frog splash. As Haas started to approach to break the pin, Chavo came off the top rope and hit him down, allowing me to get the pin. The match went about 20 min.

I was Benoit and I won the US title from Eddy right away and then I went on a fucking year long feud with Angle.

 

We traded the title 6 times and fought a total of 27 times (counting tags and multiples)...

 

Including what *HAS* to be the Greatest video game match ever...a Submisson Match between Angle and Benoit at No Mercy.

 

It went 25 minutes and we were bloody as fuck and SOOO many counters and shit until I finally won via Sharpshooter.

Do any of you play the game exclusively on the "Smackdown" setting?

 

I'm just wondering, as I've been trying it out here lately and it's just insane. That setting has got to be the roughest that I've ever played in a Pro. Wrestling game.

I'm using HHH and I'm World Champ, I just finished a 4 month feud with rock....Randy Orton challenged me to a title match at Summerslam,he went to get his car so we could get dinner,I was walking in the parking lot when someone in a car hit me with a sledgehammer..it turned out to be Booker T.

 

The next week Booker beat orton and layed him out with a sledgehammer,Now I'm back only missing a week of action to challenge Booker without medical clearance.

Thing that Annoys me

 

-The Royal Rumble. It's total bullshit. You can't even play the damn thing...not even 3 seconds before the clock starts going and people last for like 10 seconds and all them are eliminated the same exact fucking way. The whole match lasts 4 minutes. Remember the Battle Royales and shit in Revenge and No Mercy? That was the shit...why would HTCP have that?

 

-Three Stages of Hell Matches

 

I have Jericho/Flair and I go Blood/Sub/Cage so after I bust Flair open for the first win...it loads again and starts the Sub match with a clean face Flair...why the FUCK couldn't flair stay bloody to keep the flow going?

I found SYM *too easy* on the Smackdown! setting.

 

Given reports of this things difficulty, I shudder to think what havoc can be unleashed.

Not to brag but I used the Smackdown setting since getting it just because in past Smackdown games it was still a little too easy even on the hardest setting. I struggled using Matt Hardy on it in my first season and dominated with the occasional loss on the 2nd season with Goldberg. Its not THAT hard after playing on it for a while but it is more of a challenge than past games.

 

Definently on this version who you use has a bigger impact than past games as it really didn't matter who you did use as long as it wasn't a "diva" in the older versions.

I don't know if anyone has followed up on this one yet, but a while back someone noted that Taker doesn't wear belts to the ring anymore. Well, if you choose his second attire, he wears the belt with it. I guess the first attire, his vest is covering it or something.

 

Also, anyone notice how horrible Austin looks wearing the belt.. it's sticking through the front and back of his vest. =\

Started on normal difficulty and after a month switched it to Smackdown. I built RVD up quite a bit in stats due to the extra experience you get.

Mattitude Update: Matt Hardy was dropped 40 feet in the air while inside a car, just like HHH at Survivor Series 2000. It was part of this weird feud over cars with Edge. I ended up driving over his car with a monster truck while "Live for the Moment" played and Edge watched on. I tore his shit up at No Mercy in a cage match.

 

I finally got to see the pre-ppv video pieces. They are all kinda the same, but they are a nice touch. I went on a bit of a losing streak, but after fighting Roddy Piper with Ric Flair in an exhibition match and watching them kick it old school, my love for this game has been renewed.

I was perplexed however after a few months of constand battles with angle as Benoit that I had a PPV match with Piper whom I had ZERO contact with to that point.

I just had an easy ***** tag team match with Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit against the team of Rey Mysterio & Ultimo Dragon. Back and forth action for a full 10 minutes. Submissions, counters, near-falls, everything! This was an awesome, awesome match.

Things are going all right and stuff..We have the whole "tension" deal and they even had Flair have his own biography and shit...kinda had a ROCK N SOCK CONNECTION Vibe since it kinda had THIS IS YOUR LIFE but Jericho interupted the party...anyways...

 

After me and Flair beat Kane and Steiner SOUNDLY, me and flair get in a fight backstage and Kane tries to stop it then flair starts shouting

 

"I'm tired of you! That was the WORST display of wrestling I have ever seen" "I'm tired of doing everything! The car rentals! AND THE OTHER DAY YOU ATE THE PIZZA!"

 

Greatest line ever! "YOU ATE THE PIZZA" coming from ric flair.

I had the same angle with Edge, Thankfully, the line made much more sense when Edge said it.

 

Anyway, I am loving this game so far. I picked Charlie Haas, and I am doing quite nicely through season mode. At the moment, I am caught up in a female manager angle, as my CAW work in progress Yukiko Katayama and Torrie Wilson are fighting for my services. It is a fun little angle thus far. It even has continuity as, at the beginning of the season mode, I picked between the two in a beauty contest. I am going to naturally assume this is going to end up in some sort of bra & panties match. It would seem logical since I am guessing they brought it in to use in more than just exhibition mode.

 

Now, I just wish I could figure out what happened to Shelton Benjamin. After he and I lost the tag belts, he just vanished and I ended up teaming with Edge. It seems kind of silly to have a tag partner just vanish into thin air.

 

EDIT: I was getting a little worried there that these storylines were too good for the WWE, then BAM, they have the US Champion job to a girl! Way to go, game!

I had the same thing happen with Mysterio, when I was Cena. I laughed about the "pizza" line too.

I had the tag angle with Kane. Somehow that made it funnier. But we won the titles from HBK/Nash at a PPV so we're all lovey-dovey now.

Has anyone else noticed how often Piper wins as the CPU in this game? I've never actually fought him, but I've been noticing that he almost never loses a skipped CPU vs CPU match. He held the CW title for something like 25 wins, and now he has the US belt... wierd!

Okay, so after I *destroy* Vince at Bad Blood (I think that's what it was), we go on to have a stable war. My team, Thuganomics (Cena, Big Show, Matt Hardy, Booker T, Sable), was against his team, The Corporation (Angle, Rey, Torrie, Benoit, Haas). Anyways, I get pitted against his team and my old foe The Undertaker in the Elimination Chamber. I somehow win that (by avoiding contact for the first four eliminations) and then the stable wars are over. After that, I go on to face Brock at Armaggeddon in a Hell in the Cell. I win that (in a ****+ match, mind you), and go on to do a ref angle (they go on strike with Benoit). Then, on the last SmackDown before Royal Rumble, I have a decision to make. Face Benoit for the title..or non-title. Me, being the cocky bastard that I am, decided to put the title on the line, in a steel cage.   Benoit defeats me in under four minutes.   Well, now I'm screwed. I get left off almost show of the year (I decided to tag with Piper for a bit, and I defeated Angle and Benoit for the tag straps but got bored of that and dropped them back to them) until WrestleMania. I switched to RAW around No Way Out, and that's about it. First match into the new season, I defeat RVD for the Hardcore Title, next match I beat Goldberg for the IC title. I lose to HHH by DQ (I tried to tear his quad) twice in a row. So now, I finally get a title shot..only if I can beat Old-School Undertaker in under 3 minutes. So I try that..I have my finisher, and I'm about to beat him..I run out of time. Damn.   So now, I'm stuck fighting Buh Buh Ray over the IC title, yet I've won the Undisputed Title, the US Title (4 TIMES), IC title, Tag Team Title, and the Hardcore Title. Damn this game.   Ah well, I'm off to play it for several more hours.

If you are just doing career to unlock stuff, you should do what I'm doing now, as I talked about ealier and in the CAW thread.
