Gives me the slim hope that Rancid will make a video this year that MTV deems popular enough to at least nominate for an award next year. areacode212 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2003 I was at Radio City last night. They should've saved "Like a Virgin" for the end. Even though everybody knew about it beforehand, it could still have been that "big surprise" climax that would've sent everyone home happy. I haven't liked Metallica in 10 years; closing the show with them was pretty anti-climactic. Plus, I got bored seeing the same videos getting nominated over & over again. Keep the camera on the damn performance! Rock was funny. Thank God. His "I won't diss Em because there are too many things that rhyme with rock" cracked me up. What an unbiased and intelligent crowd. I mean, the fact that you even look to these awards for actual logical wins and/or credibility speaks volumes. It's the MTV VMA's...they're about as credible as their movie awards which are a notch below the fuckin' Blockbuster awards, for Christ's sake. Just because celebrities attend and peform doesn't make it legit. I don't think a MOONMAN can compete with a Grammy. So who cares who wins? And since rap/hip-hop DOES dominate the charts and sales, one should only expect their artists to be visibly prominent on the show...most of you act like the majority of the hip-hop acts shouldn't have been there or worse yet, didn't DESERVE to be there.
