Ultimate acts of Cheap Heat

Recommended Posts

My favorite pose was Edge, Christian, and Kurt Angle doing "The Jug Band" when they were in Kentucky for a PPV.

The big, floppy Country Bear Jamboree hats were golden.

God that was hilarious. Add the fake teeth and the dancing and you have comedy gold.

Kurt Angle:

Ripping on Canada for not having any Olympic heroes and not celebrating Memorial Day. "You can't have a BBQ because you'd probably be attacked by a moose or a grizzly. Then again the Grizzlies never beat anyone at home."

I would like to point out that Kurt actually worked the word "caraboo" into that promo, earning bonus points.

Kurt's promo at Global Warning was just about the funniest thing of all time, mainly because of Kurt's reaction. Chosun covered it, but Angle said that Australia was indeed a great country BECAUSE we were like America, thus getting the crowd that almost refused to chant You Suck out of pure love for the man to hate him. Kurt's look of utter confusion after being booed for that was the funniest thing I've ever seen.

I remember at an Oct 1998 Cleveland house show (Indians were in a playoff game that night), the evil Commissioner Slaughter came out to ref the next match, and ended it by noting,

"By the way, it's 4 to 3 Yankees, ya scumbags!"

And the E&C Bill Buckner impression is by far the cheapest heat I've ever seen, but hilariously funny nonetheless.

The E&C comment regarding JFK in Dallas was fucking golden. I still laugh thinking of that.

Before a Smackdown taping in Toronto in the fall of 2002 Simmons and D'Von (remember when they tagged?) got on the screen and started dissing our beer. HUGE heel heat for that.

The night after No Way Out 2003 with the Rock bashing the Maple Leafs in Toronto.

Talk about hitting the fucking nerve...that was classic.

The crowd was actually starting to get into The Rock's promo because it was so funny that it was hard to boo him.

So he unleashes:

Stronger then a bear

Faster then a buck

The biggest thing to hit Canada

'cause the Maple Leafs SUCK.

The crowd wanted to kill him after that. Great stuff.

I have that on my xcomp. Best cheap heat EVER.

2nd best is Bret's line about the US's anema being in Pittsburgh.

Heyman sometime in 02 in Boston "By the way the Yankees have 26 world series, what do you have?"

From a show in Pittsburgh (Kurt Angle's hometown):

Angle says some thing to the effect of needing him back home because of their pathetic sports teams.

"I mean, the Pirates are a disgrace..."

"The Steelers are an embarassment..."

"And the Pens? Actually, the Pens aren't that bad..."

(pop)

"...but nobody cares about hockey!"

I prefer your new sig.

Well, it does show how Jericho really feels about how WWE's used him in the past few years (HHH being a factor, of course), and I can't blame him.

Joe E Legend was wrestling in Liverpool, England, home of course to the Beatles. Joe had a tag partner, and the two of them re-enacted John Lennon's shooting, causing a riot that ended the show.

That's some pretty good heel heat.

Some other acts:

1.) Wrestler X talks smack. Wrestler Y talks smack back. Wrestler X and Y have a close staredown, indicating they're about to fight then Wrestler X backs down and walks away.

2.) Heel trying to leave the match after taking a beating early on in the match.

3.) Wrestler X not shaking Wrestler Y's hand

4.) (I can't believe nobody mentioned this, this is like a true classic act of ultimate cheap heat)

Heel Wrestler after coming down to the ring grabs the mic and the first words out of his mouth are something close to being...

"I want everybody in the building right now to sit down and shut up!"

:D

Has anybody mentioned Pete Rose's promo at WrestleMania XIV?

"I left tickets for Bill Buckner, but he couldn't bend down to pick them up."

"My friend Bucky Dent says hello!"

"Last time I was here we kicked your ass!"

Great shit there

I wrestle for the Norwegian based promotion NWF. We cooperate with the Finnish VPW in a sort of invasion angle. Last time I worked in Finland (the capital Helsinki, to be precise) I started my promo with:

-Now, what I would like right now, is for all you vodka stinking, sauna sweaty, unshaven and unemployed bastards to sit down and shut the fuck up.

*Crowd boos*

-And that goes for the men as well.

May not be The Rock, but it got some nice heat...

On the topic of generic cheap heat: How about when a heel attacks a random backstage employee after being harrassed by them or for no reason at all?

Generic example:

BE: Hey ____! How are you feeling after you lost your title to ____ last night?

Heel: I'll show ya how I feel! *kicks personnel in the stomach then throws him into metal crate*

Specific example:

The NWO shoves the "coffee inspector's" head into the scalding coffee.
